What makes ESO fun for you?

Playing with good friends in small group PvP

The constant changes makes everyone quit, so it’s not fun anymore :(

Also the nerfs cause the zergs to get bigger making small group play dead outside of BGs :(

Fantasy RPGs in general, not much for lore or stories as i don't understand 99% of ESO but wizards & warriors was always a interest to me..

And Bosmers they are just so small and cute i want to hold them.. plus i always love wood elves.

For me it's the solo ability. I prefer melee characters, and while I have no issues grouping, finding the time with a 45 up to 90 hr work week, a wife, a 3 year old etc to even sit and play can be a challenge, much Less HAVING to lfg before I can move(too many years of EQ to go back to that) so grouping is an option, not a requirement. Friends on? Great. None on? Still great.

For me it's the community. The good and the bad, it all brings amusement to me. Also I dearly love the ability to battle-rez allies while in combat without limit.
I don't think I can return as a healer in WoW now that I'm so used to that being a coverup *ehem* .. A way to recover from a mistake in group content.

It's the only MMO I've ever played with an actual story. Other MMOs just have a quick main quest and nothing but fetch quests on the side. The entire point of other MMOs is grinding to endgame by doing repetitive tasks. They very rarely have any story content.

The combat is also better than in 99% of MMOs which feature "tab target + faceroll" combat systems.

So true. Fetch 10 of this, kill 10 of that. And heres a wall of quest text to read. No thanks.

Wanna Rolldodge? or sprint? or Block ? well there is a 15 sec cooldown every time -____-

Most of all I enjoy crafting, exploring, dark anchors and playing with my werewolf skills. I'm a low level player and so far I haven't done very much questing at all, I prefer spontaneous adventuring all over the world without having to be anywhere in particular.

Apart from the lore, combat and everything else the horizontal gear progression keeps me playing this game. Your equipment isn't useless after a patch and it allows you to make your own build without having to farm new dungeons and ultimately limiting yourself. Thats also the reason why I oppose that whole "perfected" ordeal.

A few reason what makes this game fun for me

    1. I like improving myself
    2. Helping others learn to be better at the game
    3. Conquering harder content like VAS+3, VMOL etc etc
    4. Earning no death run skins
    5. Most important, playing with the missus

Having recently come from WoW, it's mostly the game's respect for its players (note I say "game", not necessarily "publisher"). The difference in quest quality is night and day, with unexpected and sensible twists, politics and culture being consistently explored with numerous sides to a single issue, and characters whose motives are more than just "muh boi ded" or "muhahahaha". I would hope this carries beyond Summerset, where I've started and now just finished.

Professions are useful, a stark contrast to my previous MMO, as well as fun from the beginning. I'm actively looking for crafting mats and enjoying the process of discovery or when a risky improvement pays off. There's an emotional response besides "meh", and moving on.

That said, I'm struggling to find a class and build that's for me. Sword 'n' board for solo content is something of a pain, though I hope it gets better (I'm currently only level 28), and I don't get any impact from dual-wielding. Archery, while flash (indeed, what isn't?), doesn't have the same feedback as previous ES games so that's another favourite gone. I may try a Sorcerer with a Staff yet.

To say I had a rather negative view of ESO when it first released, it's come a long way and has done a lot to impress me. I'm definitely going to continue playing, and this may be *the* MMO I'll play to fill in the blanks.

Being an orc. That's... actually about it, these days. I've done all the story content, and "repeating dailies" doesn't hold my interest, so I haven't been giving this as much attention. Sub ended up lapsing as well. Meh.

I really miss the early days of not knowing anything, exploring when everything was shiny and new and unknown, and the story hadn't yet been done. Kind of an "ignorance is bliss" time period.

i loved the excitement and freshness of leveling up the first time through!

also a close 2nd is the events when they are fresh and not copy and paste-like.

    Well..it was my Sorc.

    I fkin loved MagSorc.

Now there's nothing for me to like. I genuinely enjoyed playing a PetSorc. Something I haven't been able to do in a long time is ENJOY an MMO.

With all these changes, though..I mean, i'll see how it feels when the patch comes out..playing the magsorc..but they seemingly just deleted magsorc entirely..so I dunno.

The writing team mostly. I love the stories, characters and lore. The OST also, and the beautiful areas. Also RP from time to time.

I used to enjoy the combat as well, but it's been on a downhill slope since Morrowind. These days I dread it :/ I miss my dual wielding magnb and playing fun hybrids...now they're dead in the water.

    What changed with it?
