Zenimax and Amazon dropped the ball.

Wow… No idea what is going on here, but all of a sudden my Amazon account says my Imperial Edition has shipped and will be here tomorrow via FedEx. Got a tracking number and everything. I never contacted customer support, nor did I ever get any emails from them today. It just said "preparing for shipment" for about 18 hours, then all of a sudden it says "shipped." I guess I'm happy, but I certainly didn't get it on release day. And for the record, I ordered on Feb 19.

    Hang in there, people!

The easiest fix I can think of if they did oversell and there really aren't enough in stock, is for ESO to just make codes for the Imperial/Reg Edition and send those to Amazon (much like preorder codes) and then when they make more copies, don't include a game code and mark it as such for distribution through retailers to people who preordered.

Mine is in shipment, it's in KY. Estimated date is 11th. Zenimax does need to give us some leeway and not lock us out, due to the failure of correspondence and appropriate action of both Amazon and Zenimax Studios.

My girlfriend's copy was delayed today and just recently was changed to shipped with expected arrival on the 5th.

I'm not in full worry mode yet. Because the CSR supervisor Karen told me that I would indeed get it. But, still no email confirmation, or extended code period. :(

Boom! Amazon shipping today. Will be here tomorrow. One phone call.

Called back to check, Amazon CS says if you get a Shipping Now or Preparing for Shipment, it means there is a physical copy assigned to your account in the warehouse.
  • peechwurmnub18_ESO
I've called Amazon multiple times now and continued to get "It's currently back-ordered, we will ship it to you as soon as it becomes available." stating that date as the 7th. I just got off the phone again with them and she swore up and down that my item would be received on the 7th despite me stating multiple times to her my concerns about them running out of stock of the item. So here's hoping that's true. So far my order status remains "Not yet shipped. Est. Delivery Date April 7th"

I'm glad that a lot of folks with the physical CE/Imperial Edition seem to be getting somewhere.

I'm pretty sure folks in my situation (am I the only one?) who ordered a standard physical edition with free delivery from Amazon are SOL, though. It just never occurred to me that I'd be locked out of the game if I was confirmed for early access. I thought that was confirmation enough for Zenimax that I bought and payed for a legal copy and everything would be peachy.

I could have afforded to pay for shipping last month and would have, if I'd known I'd needed to for continual access to the game. I honestly can't afford to upgrade my shipping this month. I didn't figure it into my budget and I've already made some large, planned expenses, so I have no disposable income left.
  • miked_1_ESO
Bottomline is, ZoS needs to post in here and inform people what the deal is, with over 7k views, its a pretty big deal.

There needs to be a week extension on lock outs. Its not hard for them to implement and it doesn't cost them money (that I could see).

Almost 6pm est here and im still fighting with Amazon. i sent a email and i just talked to a chat rep. pretty much told me there not sure when there gonna get more. I also sent a email to Zenimax and they told me literally "have amazon open your box and give you the code" Im angry there's little to no communication and i don't know what to do now. Before you know, it's gonna be sunday and then im really gonna be screwed.

Well not only that, but I ordered on January 30th. The option to second day delivery was not available on my check out so it only gave the option for 2day (free with prime). Nothing many of us could have done.

As said simply put, the studio shouldn't lockout loyal costumers who did in fact order one of the limited copies of the boxed retail imperial version.

Amazing how quickly I can lose all faith in a company. I see no point in putting more time in my character since I may have to start over if I do not get the imperial edition. How much would it hurt to expand grace period. Cancelled my order with Amazon and went and grabbed the Diablo 3 expansion.

Amazon totally boned me hard on this one. Not only did they give me two invalid pre-order codes (No one at Amazon or ZOS could figure out WTF was up with that, let alone fix it) but then they ended up not being able to fill the order. It's still listed with that "we don't know what we're doing, and have no clue if you'll ever see this" message on my account.

I just found one at GameStop via their website, and already have a UPS tracking number. Looks like Derpazon loses out on this one. It would be interesting to see how much money they lose because of their ineptitude.

As an aside to ZOS.. The whole 'grace period extension' to Sunday isn't all that impressive. The Sunday cutoff has been public knowledge now for weeks. Nothing new was done in that respect.

I don't care who's at fault. ZoS your pathetic communication on this makes you worse than EA. At least you can play their games.

Actually, I want to push back on that. It costs them a week of subscription fees. That's significant, and I don't really fault them for perhaps running a frantic budget analysis today to see what the cost is to extending the grace period.

I was thinking of requiring a sub be entered, previous to physical copies being delivered would work, but it won't if they must have the sub linked to a specific game code, which I assume is the case. It's a pickle for them. They'll lose money either way.

That is my largest issue. I understand things happen, but how the company responds is what matters. Zenimax's silence speaks volumes.

I just got off the phone now with Amazon and all they did for me was gave me 45$ off my next Amazon Purchase. the order's still in but who knows when if there gonna get more. If i could play untill i get my Box i will be happy that's all im asking for. and Amazon pretty much told me that Zenimax didnt ship them enough.

Not that it matters for me now, but I do not need an extra week before I pay, I just do not want to be cut off for being one of the loyal fans.

Exactly, I am not asking for extra free time. Just a push back on the lockout during my free month. It can't impact them that much, its better than pissing off customers.

I just got off the phone with the amazon rep, and because my order was cancelled (not by choice) there is literally nothing they can do. I am literally screwed out of my character because I don't have the explorer's pack code. Would be nice if I could just get the digital imperial edition and have a code sent to me from ZOS. I would lose quite a bit if I had to restart.

Right. I agree completely. I'd like to put in my cc info for a sub right now.

I think though, their payment system, in order to keep things straight, and as error- and scam-proof as possible, requires each subscription be linked to a single, specific game code. This necessarily requires that one comes before the other: game code entry first, subscription set-up second. Never the reverse.

Anyone still looking for a copy of the Imperial Edition might be able to still order one from GameStop. They have it listed as available for order (I placed an order earlier today, and already have a tracking number) so it might be worth a shot.

Maybe that's where all of the ones we were supposed to have on order at Derpazon went. :o

Try this URL, and good luck!

One of my friends bought from GMG, GMG canceled his order and refund to him. His account was be frozen (might be closed) by Zos. If you wanna keep this account might be you need talk with Zos asap.

agree. My order is shipped, and shows it should be delivery today. However, normally UPS knock my door around 1:00 pm. Right now it is 6:30 pm, no one comes. I am afraid I cant get it today and UPS never delivery on Saturday and Sunday.
