What is "I'm looking for..." from others for you in the dungeons?

This is the only proper and right way to ask loot in dungeons. NOT loot spying with add-ons.
If somebody asks for something I do not need - I will share it for free. If somebody spies my loot and then demands it - my price is 50k.

And how he would know that you get specific item?

I will post all items form set he needs in group chat after final boss. As I always do.
Well, it comes in handy when too many ppl lie to you.

Not to mention that many users of such a tool might ask in the first place and use it just as some sort of backup. You would share your loot for free with a spy without even knowing it.

Besides - if someone accepts your price, what's next? You sold your moral standards because the price is right?

    BackNimbleCrab-size_restricted.gif

Yes. I do not have moral standards. I just do not like spying in my loot. If you accept my price? ok then. Lets think it is a spying tax. And people have right to lie to you if they do not want to share their loot, btw.

Then have fun selling a set piece you dont even need to the npc just because someone got an addon and saw it.

You're acting like a wannabe Santa Claus who gets mad because the children already know what they get before he can deliver the presents under the tree.^^

Selling to NPC? Lol. I'll just deconstruct it for mats. II was such a pleasure to decon Inferno BSW.

Dude. A guy walks up behind you and peeks in your backpack and demands your lunch in real life. Is that "just a basic feature" of real life or is that a spying possible pickpocket or thief? I don't care if the API allows it. Looking in my bags is a no no!

For my part, I prefer people just say at the star of a run. "Hey, I'm looking for FIllInTheBlanK." And I say. We'll compare drops after the last boss. You ask for anything before that last boss, you're assumed to be looking in my bags and you're not getting ***. You demand what's in my bag. Same story. I'm very generous and usually give away almost anything people need but not if they don't use some manners and courtesy.

i actually tend to chase people after the dungeon if the group was disbanded too quickly to ask them if they needed something from it ...
So yes, always happy to trade that stuff, it's bop anyway, so better if someone can use it rather than just dismantling if for mats...

I really see no reason to refuse to share loot I don't personally need, unless they're being a jerk.

Also I'm kind of laughing at the people who don't like the loot spying, because its so easy to watch what people get and then later on ask if anyone got a/n insertitemhere knowing full well that someone did.

If I need something from a dungeon, I'll just farm it with people I know. And the one telling how he feels good in deconing a BSW inferno just remembered me why.
Refering to addon use as "spying" is just stupid. Are people also "spying" your HP if they have a group frame addon? Fair enough, if you don't want to give your loot away to strangers, either if you have personal need or just because of being a jerk. But I think its better if everyone knows all the loot, as it might easily be overseen otherwise. I don't like if people cluttering the chat with all crap they picked up. In general I only post divines/infused or weapons of meta sets. First come, first serve.

I don't have an established way, but if I remember what was requested, I will give it to the player (if I don't need it). It's better for me if people mention what they need at the beginning and the end of the run.

I might also link gear to see if anyone wants it. I know some people are shy and might not request gear up front.

Yes, if some say they need something and I don't I give. Sometimes I link if I know its an well know set.

I don't mind giving away my loot :) I also wait a bit after the endboss to make sure everyone got what they wanted if no one wrote at the beginning what loot they were looking for.

However i kinda dislike that addon that shows others what i loot, when someone then whispers me and annoys me i will tell them i need it myself. Just write in the beginning what you want and i will give it to you, jeez.

(Good example, last week i farmed CoA a bit and one person got crazy because the other person in the team didnt wanted to loot the one boss that drops the ring. In fact, the person had a bad drop and didn't wanted to loot it therefore the person with the addon saw that he didn't loot and therefore didn't know if the ring dropped or not. Annoying that he wanted him to go back and loot. sigh.)
Had alot of annoying encounters with people using that addon so i prefer not to give stuff away to those people.
I mean i can understand how frustrating it is to farm alot and not get what you want but we all need to endure this.

Not gonna vote, because your poll options are silly and you then proceed to call people liars because of how they voted, so there's no point to it. Yes, you'll still try to put me in one of your little boxes, but that's on you.

That aside, I typically link what I don't need at the end, and give it for free to whomever asks for it, assuming they were a decent human being and not a nightmare to be around. Here's the thing. If I don't link it, it's because I'm keeping it. I don't care what your addon says, or how many times you've run it, or how "you could put it to so much better use than I can" because you're the best thing since sliced bread. If I got it, it's mine first, and remains so until I say otherwise, whether I need it for my main, or for an alt, or just want the crafting mats.

As to the addon, I regard it with the same distaste I regard people digging through my pockets, mostly because of the sort of people who are so insistent about making sure we know they're using it by messaging me immediately and refusing to take no for an answer. Part of it's definitely about privacy, but it's also about common courtesy. Even if most other MMOs have it (I haven't seen it in the ones I've played), it's something everyone has, not just those who use an addon, and there's probably generally accepted courtesy associated with it. In this game, the people who are so blatant about using it will message you as soon as you get something they want, before you've even processed that you've gotten it- much less whether or not you need it- and, in doing so, are trying to get it before anyone else realizes you have it and gets the chance to ask.

"But they can use it, not say anything until the end, and then ask knowing full well you got it." Yes. But at that point, I've processed I've got it, decided I don't need it, linked it, and you have the same chance as everyone else. If I don't link it, or I say no, the answer's no. Don't keep pestering me, or insult me, or demand I give it to you. You may have been looking for it for who knows how many runs, but it dropped into my inventory, which makes it mine.

"You're a horrible, greedy, power-hungry person and you suck!" Perhaps. But again, it's my loot to do with as I please. And if you're a decent, courteous human being who doesn't dig through my backpack like I'm your personal free loot receptacle, I'll gladly give you what I don't need free of charge - even trials weapons and jewels. If not, well...

    Better luck next run.

    This is option #3
Please point on hard word combinations in the 1st post what was so hard for you to get it?
Just make screenshot and plot there arrows.

Call liars? Yes, because ppl choose #2 (white knights, omg) and then in text describe something right about option #3 or even #1!

Look at the poll, 37% who would by themselves contact you and suggest an items that you posted at the start as desired for you. 37%!
I'm playing since beta and I never met that kind of ppl. NE-VER.
Noone contacted with me at the end with words "hey mate, I remembered that you are looking for an item (item) and I got one, do you need it?"
Do you ever has such experience? Doubt it.

Wanna know how many times I seen (after asked some item from others loot) "sorry, but someone asked it 1st". A lot.

So, wait until some1 would link items in the chat (if he is not like me, who never post that) or ask about an item? My experience says me, that 2nd is WAY more profitable.

I chose other because option 2 wasn't quite what I do. I would try to remember what the person asked for, give it to them and post the rest in chat. If I can't remember, I would ask them what they wanted or post what I got. I'm not looking for anyone to be generous, which I'm guessing you mean to give me something in return, because if the stuff I get doesn't get taken it gets deconned or sold.

If the group is nice and polite, I can post every (unwanted) set loot after each boss and each treasure chest (and when - rarely - the set loot drops from mobs). I also post hilarious items like "Bow of SPC" or "Battle axe of Worm", but it's just to laugh - if somebody happens to need such item, he can have it (nobody ever did though) :D

I also ask "does anyone need any gear here?" at the start of the dungeon - if everyone says no or nobody responds, it saves me from linking :)

I see it like this, we did the dungeon together and if everyone was polite i will hand over my loot. If you are one of those who runs in front of the group, getting unfriendly, queued with a fake role... you dont get anything.
If he didnt specify the trait in the beginning i just post the item into the group chat and wait for a response, if the trait was specified i will come up to you and initiate a trade.
