Strange question. Such subjective for what you are looking for in a game. I like the medieval setting, the atmosphere, the story and sidequests. But ESO has issues like other games/MMO´s.

GW2 has a better GvGvG gameplay. WoW has a better competitive PvP and PvE scene. FF14 has better story, and is right there with WoW on the raid quality.

I would agree with this. And none of them is the best, all have there own issues.

It is a good MMO and a good game, nothing more.

Most of my gripes with eso is the jumbled questing that leaves you lost at times. As well as trials overall suck its the same stack and burn mentality on every trial not much of a strategy just dodge aoe and slap boss for 40 mins because more hp equates to detailed boss fights.
Lastly rng is so friggan punishing i dont even wanna do half the content just because whatever im looking for is a second job rather than fun...
Like dlc dungeons yes their do able but they arent unless you have alot of skilled friends most players cant do dlc dungeons because or terrible builds lousy players or extremely casual players

I am almost ready to make this the best game I'ver ever played...bf2 on pc...maybe the best ever.

    Whatcha think? Why?!!!!!

It's okay as an MMO, but as a game, it's far from the best, for several very obvious reasons. Granted, that perception will be skewed here, since people on the forum like the game already.

It would be my favorite maybe if they fix the servers.

Not the best though as so many other single player games, I'm always in overwatch to

Best and only MMO I've played so far.

What I came to enjoy about the game is the combat system and pvp. I don't do much else apart from playing in Cyrodiil.

Questing is exceedingly dull content due to bad storylines and the fact that ESO doesn't have a very atmospheric feel to it (like single player games such as Skyrim and Witcher). I mean they had John Cleese do Cadwell in the main questline and I still didn't enjoy it! That says something about the quality of it.

I guess my point is that eso provides us with the tools to create our own content by giving us an awesome combat system, hard trials and cool landscapes.
But they have failed to deliver on gripping stories and emotional attachment to the world. To me eso does not feel alive and that is why I and most of the endgame community focus solely on the combat aspect of the game (trials or pvp) while neglecting questing and exploring completely.

Eso is 'fun' but it isn't moving. It's the video game equivalent of a Marvel movie. I enjoy it but it has very little depth. This is why I would never rate ESO as the best game I've played...Witcher and Skyrim (which both fall in the same genre I suppose) are far superior.

I'm a console player and fairly new to MMOs. Love ESO.

Why do I consider ESO one of the best MMO's of all time? Easy. Just look at the competition:

Played that one Japanese MMORPG that many would consider ESO's chief rival (I think you all know which one I'm talking about). Quickly lost interest after about 10 minutes when nothing in the world is voice-acted, no in-voice chat, which gives the game a weird, creepy, silent feel. The final straw was the awful "tab-based" and "tab-targeting" combat. Nope! Next.

Wanted to play that one survival MMO with all the dinosaurs--Ark Survival. It looked pretty cool. Until I found out that you could get raided and LOSE ALL YOUR STUFF EVEN WHEN YOU'RE LOGGED OFF. LOL! Hell no. Next.

I'm a PS4 player. But that one cute pirate game on the Xbox really intrigued me. Then I found out there is absolutely zero solo content. Really? How difficult is it to program a measly 15-20 hours worth of solo quests in order to compliment the PVP? Nope. Next.

I'd love a good pirate game. A pirate MMORPG would be like a dream come true. Since "Sea of Thieves" is just a griefer simulation, maybe "Skull of Bones" is the answer to all our prayers. Here's the deal with that upcoming game: you can't leave your ship. Yup, you heard it right. A triple-AAA pirate-themed MMORPG. But there is no land exportation. Jesus. Next.

Black Desert Online. 3 words: Gender Locked Classes. That is, quite frankly, the most idiotic thing I've ever heard of. Dumb programming/design decision. My interest in that game is now zero. Next.

Face it, folks. ESO and GTA V Online are the most solid MMORPGs this generation. Not perfect. But there are many, many things they get right and no glaring, "WTF-type" dealbreakers.
