Best Game Ever? ESO!!!

I am almost ready to make this the best game I'ver ever played...bf2 on pc...maybe the best ever.

It would be if they invested time and money in performance not in boxes and store... What they are doing now is they just throw in stuff like DLCs, boxes every few months and they dont fix anything that is why i quit year ago...

Over monetized and gambling box's plus the terrible performance after all these years the game has been out STILL. Never mind the bugs, unbalanced sets never addressed, pvp/cc immunity broken......

Not saying it's the worst but far far far far far far far from the best. All down to ZOS poor decisions or complete lack of action on certain parts of the game. Zero transparency, lack of communication or just down right lying to players.

I think it's all been said before, could list 100 issues and still would not cover them all.

Other than that I actually think the game itself is awesome overall, ZOS just need to change their focus and step up more with performance, bugs, balance, pvp, get rid of loot box's, too much RNG, inventory management online, less focus on crown store exclusives etc. If they did they would make more money in the long run I think and have a much more loyal player base.

ZOS seem only interested in churning out new players for fast profit turnover and short term cash injections, eventually it will just kill the game off if they keep down this path, especially the amount of screw ups with performance, bugs and balance/broken things lately.

Pretty sure this game would last well over 10+ years if ZOS stopped being ZOS...

There are so many things that ESO gets right. Perfect combination of solo and PVP content.

On pc anyway for the fantasy genre. I will admit other mmos do stuff better such as in-game obtainable mounts

Im callin your bluff.. you quit a year ago and still hang out on the forums ? What would be the point in that other than being that bored in life? Your just a disappointed customer atm is my guess which is reasonable with all the disconnects everyone is having. Just hang in there bud

but it certainly raised my expectations on everything going forwards.

The complexities of the combat system are amazing and add so much dept to the game that i just haven't found anywhere else.

I don't care about what is the best tbh. I just want to play a game I can enjoy. I love this game as it is now apart from performance issues. Sadly it's not something I can overlook.

OP, I truly want to agree with 110% certainty. I absolutely love this game, nearly everything about it...I love and adore ESO.
The ONLY thing bringing this game down to me personally are the technical difficulties. I don't know if it's genuinely my data plan or something on the companies end, which I'm probably not going to upgrade just to find out for one game. Waiting ten to fifteen seconds waiting for NPC's to load for interaction is at times an eye rolling experience. I'm not a developer, I can't say what the issue is, I'm just a gamer...a passionate gamer who loves The Elder Scrolls Online and get's frustrated when I don't understand why I have to wait for NPC's to materialize for interaction.

Games crash, DLC's add variables and I will always understand that. I don't give damn about crashes here and there or bugs after some DLC, but good lord I don't want to stare at air while waiting to talk to repair my armor, sell some loot or buy some Bone, giggidy

I deal with it because the game is still great with the issues. Which is why I feel The Elder Scrolls Online will be one of the top populated games into the future if it can solve those issues. This game is literally phenomenal. When all the kinks are ironed out it will be better than phenomenal. ESO is like wine. When it's aged properly it will be the perfect vintage experience.

Best Game Ever? The first game that I thought of when I read this topic was Dragon Age: Origins. Real choices with real consequences for my character.

GW2 has a better GvGvG gameplay. WoW has a better competitive PvP and PvE scene. FF14 has better story, and is right there with WoW on the raid quality. None of these has a focus on a cash shop, putting more effort I to actually making the game better, and not just lining their pockets.

ESO is a good game, but it isn't the best of anything it tries. The storytelling is probably top five, but coupled with OW content that one could literally sleep through leaves it very boring, making gameplay a choose your own adventure book. Cyrodil is a joke with the lagfest, lack of balance, and new sets that become mandatory for every class in the game, keeping it from being anywhere as good as GW2 WvWvW.

When they decide to put even a fraction of that money they get from the cash shop back into the game, it may end up being great, but for now, it's just a fancy cash grab as it is.

Yes! No other game has held my gaming attention for so long. The previous best would have been the original Quake CTF mod. People gripe & complain a lot about ESO on this forum... but everyone in the game always seem to be having a blast! (apart from the rare whingy whisperer.)

For the most part, I've enjoyed my time in ESO since April 2014, and plan to continue doing so for the foreseeable future. But best game EVER? Sorry, the only games out there even in that ballpark are Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross.
