It's what, 800k per ring to upgrade if you buy the mats (on PC NA anyway)?

Follow your gold grind of choice (new DLC furniture plans or motifs are perennial solid choices, as is mat farming).
If you are trying to grind up the mats organically, good luck. The grind is insane.

The price to do it is outrageous and the stat increase, miniscule.

    Its not worth it.

I'll be golding my stuff eventually, but right now it's just too costly

Heck, just getting enough purple grains to upgrade blue jewellery is bad enough... I blew over 600k AP on Potentiates boxes, and only managed to upgrade one (1) Mother’s Sorrow ring... I should have just kept grinding dolmens. :/

Not worth it IMO. I'm still using blue jewelry on a few pieces. Once the prices come down, or ZOS realized the mistake they made by requiring 10X the mats on jewelry, I may upgrade mine.

You might be confusing a want with a need. haha Curious what set you are talking. If you have deep pockets, knock yourself out, but there is no greater waste of gold currently.

Golding your jewelry will increase your damage/healing/defense/whatever by a tiny fraction of 1% and cost an absurd amount of money.

Minmaxxing is the heart of MMORPGs, but just this once, let it go, it's not worth the effort.

I hate to laugh at your Sorrow but you can get purple MS rings for way cheaper than that investment

Just wait a few months, prices will start to drop at some point.

Just wait another month or two, hopefully prices will go down for chromium

Why? Infused affects the enchantment only, not the stats of the jewelry

The percentage that infused increases the enchantment goes up with the quality.

? no it is not. Arcane and bloodthirsty are particularly useful for magsorc and magblade.

Max stats are still almost the best, they are the best for magic and infused only beats max Stam by like 1-2%. So I have no idea what makes @ErMurazor think what they do.

Weapon dmg enchant on purple infused jewelry is 262, and on gold is 276. So the damage difference is 828-786=42.

What are the odds ZOS buffs gold jewelry to make jewelry crafting more appealing?

My precious (Gold willpower jewelry). Just can’t justify the millions of gold to buy the mats or hours to grind them. :'(

I used to dream about upgrading many jewelry to gold... before we got patch notes and PTS :D After a month since early release I got only 2 legendary platings - it will take me few years to get enough gold mats to upgrade 1 jewelry piece :o So with sadness I just sold those mats and plan to sell them from now on. Jewelry crafting, so inspirational... :/

My plan was to buy gold jewelry from the Golden and decon for the gold mat, until I found it doesn’t even guarantee a plate let alone a dust upon decon. Even at max crafting level with all passives.

@LumbermillOverlord , you know economies are different between console and PC, and that purple Mother’s Sorrow rings go for 50k gold on average?

    I JUST LOL’D.

I PVP regularly, so AP isn’t a problem for me. Gold is, though.
