They’re working on it. This is more complex than most of you armchair MMO/IT specialists realize.
They've been "working on it" for years, that's what you white knights don't seem to get
Yes, they have been working on it.
Did you ever stop to think that with three unique platforms and limited staff...these issues may take some time?
I want things fixed and perfect just like everyone else. This game has evolved so much over the years. They’ve delivered on many things already.
Let’s give them some credit and let them work their magic.
Communication would be nice! How about they tell us they don’t know what the problem is instead of telling us last week they would be fixing it?
Probably because we really don't need an update every 3 seconds and people are just impatient. It's funny, I have 0 lag, 0 difficulties on Xbox One X right now. Everyone screams and yells as ZOS and while they certainly are not the best, they know a lot more than the "armchair IT people" do.
Person is lucky enough to not have any of the game-crippling issues that others who have Xbox One X and ESO on a SSD have and instead of counting their blessings they feel the need to come in here and insult us for wanting a product that we PAID REAL MONEY FOR and a game that many of us SUBSCRIBE TO A PREMIUM SUB TIER for, to function without crashing us to the Xbox dashboard. Classic ESO message boards right here. The entitlement of not having crashes or freezes is real.
I hate to say it, but switching from Xbox one to PS4 was a smart move for me.
After three, yes three Xbox Ones. I got sick of it.
ESO generally runs smooth in PS4, outside of lag/Cyrodiil load screens and the legions of clowns that duel in populated areas.
I see plenty of threads and posts from PlayStation people having issues too. I'm not switching a 1000+ cp account with All dungeon achievements done, many trial achievements and millions upon millions in gold and crafting materials. I'd sooner quit the game than re-grind all that. The game isn't THAT good. Maybe if I had some sort of guarantee that I would be free from issues on PS but I really can't get that.
Now if ZoS want's to do the right thing and offer to transfer my account then we can have the discussion. But like I said there are Xbox players that swear they aren't having issues either with some PS players that are. I think its just a total crap-shoot when you play on console.
That may be. I think the issues are amplified more if you have sub par internet as well. I run with a few people on PS4 that have these issues, more so than others.
One runs on a Satellite ISP and the other on a mobile hotspot.
I have a fast, hard wired cable connection. No huge issues at all.

My issues aren't network related though. I rarely if ever disconnect from the server. Yeah I get some lag and stuff in some vet trial fights and in Cyrodiil but I can live with that. It's not game-breaking in the slightest. The true bane of my existence is the crashes. These crashes always occur in the same manner (screen freezes, horrible buzzing noise, back at the xbox dashboard.) According to two different Microsoft reps I spoke with, Xbox games crash in this exact manner when the console has en error attempting to read code. I have no reason to believe that these reps would lie or not have enough knowledge of their own console to share this information with me.
For what it's worth I play at two different locations in my home, one very close to my router where I can hardwire the console and one area far away where I have to play with wi-fi. I still get the crashes in both places. If my issues were network related (getting sent back to the title screen and un-able to connect to the server and constant lag) then i would be contacting my ISP instead of ZoS.
Oh and I have switched ISPs in the 18 months I've been playing this game and I noticed no change in performance. I'm not saying that others are not having issues due to their network but I have troubleshot every possible last thing with my internet including spending HOURS on the phone with AT&T to get the ports opened for this game that support suggested I open and it did absolutely nothing. I have spent so much of my time trying to solve this issue and I spent hundreds of dollars on an Xbox One X and solid state drive to attempt to fix the crashes to no avail. Although it did wonders for my load-times and graphics.

I totally understand the frustration with this. I beat my head against a wall trying to figure out why Battlefield 4 was so latent and out of sync on Xbox One.
Microsoft says it’s my ISP. The ISP says it’s Microsoft. Microsoft says it’s Dice.
I just gave up. I hope Zenimax figures this out, I really do.
You can organise your blackouts as much as you like. The fact of the matter is that Cyrodiil has been broken for a long while now, and will remain broken.
The problem is something that ZOS have tried and tried to fix. As an outsider with no real understanding of game engines and the calculations involved behind the scenes, I would say that it’s probable that the reason it isn’t fixed is because there’s a problem with the engine of the game that just can’t handle the calculations of all those abilities, all of those CP calculations, all of those different set calculations and all of the extra stuff under the hood.
Back when the game launched, it could. Because we had veteran levels and no CP. less armour sets, the lighting patch wasn’t in, and there was no DLC added into the game. They’ve built and built upon it, and that would only have exacerbated problems within the code.
ZOS have not got enough time to sit and take a long, hard dig into the performance of the game. They have a content cadence that leaves very little wiggle room. They are always working on something.
So, do they stop creating content until they take a long and hard look under the hood? That would not be profitable for them. And let’s face it, they are a business. I was here for the year they were focusing on the console release, and no content came besides things like the justice system. That almost killed the game.
So, without shouting, without hyperbole, without insults to anyone, what is the real solution here?

And an organized effort would get the suits above the developers to pay attention to the WHY people are quitting instead of just the numbers on the financial report.

Enough white knight syndrome.
They’ve been working on it for years. And yet, it only gets worse.
I don’t need to be a professional IT/developer to understand basic business. They need to stop developing content that breaks the game more and FIX the game.
They clearly don’t pay attention to their CUSTOMERS because this demand has been going on for years. So it’s going to take something more serious than just flapping fingers on the forums.
Cutting off their profits is the way.

However saying that, if we organised a blackout over PvP performance, I can just imgaine hords of PvEers saying, "but my daily writs" lol.
On the subject of Cyrodiil performance. It will never support hundreds of players on the screen at once as they advertised at launch. They used to be able to do it back at launch but they had lots of client side processing that allowed the game to be hacked. Loads of code got shoved over to the server one patch (where it should have been all along) to avoid the hacking and the performance inevitably died and has never recovered.
There's a reason Camelot Unchained has had to develop their own engine from the ground up to support hundreds of players fighting at once, because there isn't an engine capable of it right now, certainly not the aging Hero trash used here at ESO.

As I said. New content brings in new players who may subscribe and are more likely to purchase Crown Store items meaning a stream of revenue. As long as they continue to register new players every month, they probably don't really care about long-termers having issues. The average player of an MMO lasts 7.3 months and then moves on. It's a matter of numbers and cost vs. gain.davidj8291 wrote: »Tan9oSuccka wrote: »Easy there, killer.

I would agree, if it WASN’T an MMO. Their consistent profits rely on recurring, low effort money. Crowns and subscriptions.
Long time players still gamble on the Crown crates for houses and still buy Crowns for cool new items and decorations and such.
Long time players rely on the bank space and the craft bag.
Long time players have more to lose
