Katanas (for critical increase) into existing 2H skill line? (Dagger equivalent)

    @Chilly-McFreeze endgamers will run whatever is doing to the most damage. No matter the size of that difference. Evevn if it is like 5%, not that that is the difference between two handers and dual weild. All I know is that with my two-handed Stam sorc I get ~30k DPS without doing many light attacks or even wearing meta armor, I mean I run toothrow so I don't have to use pots off cool down. So using endgame people as the example that everything ought to follow does not hold much water for me. Because, again, that type of player will run whatever is best regardless of how much difference.

    Ah yes, and I can pull through most content on my hybrid sorc as well, so I kinda agree with you. But the fact still remains that 2h is subpar. You said it yourself (skills compared to DW). Anyways, the OP was about crit bonus on 2h and I certainly doubt that it would push 2h on the same level as DW, but at least it would close the gap a bit - how big that gap might be.

    I would not say doing 30k DPS is "pulling through content". 30k DPS makes most of the game a breeze, everything short of vet hm trials. I would also not phrase the gap between two-handed and dual wield as "big".

    To fix the problem though, two-handed needs another dot. My best replacement is a morph of critical charge. Probably critical rush, as that is the more DPS oriented morph anyways. There is no need for a gap closer in pve. So just have that morph do a damage over time function.

    No katanas. We have those in styles.

    Spears with crit though... Now that I'd even pay for.

    Katana shouldnt be a separate 2h category. Katana are swords and thus, should be classified as such.

    Additionally “Dai-katana” is a rough description of a greatsword version of a katana but the proper naming would be “No-dachi”

    Or spears, if that hasn’t been mentioned yet. We have some katana-looking sword motifs already. Would be such a pain designing the models for each existing motif for a new weapon though.

    He is not talking about the look of the swords, though that would just mean Zos could not use Katanas.

    He's talking about introducing a new weapon type modeled after a katana, but we have 2h sword motifs which look like katanas already. There would need to be some visual distinction between the weapon types imo (even though outfits make that kind of pointless in combat), so I suggested another weapon type which doesn't exist in the game's aesthetics yet.

    The creation of new models for every single motif in the game is probably the primary inhibitor keeping ZOS from making new weapon lines. Melee magicka, open hand, and spear weapon lines have been requested for a long time, and I'm sure I'm forgetting others.
