Wow, what a biased poll. No option for "I don;t know what ZOS spend theior money on?"
I have no doubt that money is spent upgrading servers, and that infact the lag is caused by traffic, not server speed.
If you know anything about the number you see as lag, which is latency and most people mistake for ping, then you would understand that the issue is infact a network congestion issue, not a server related issue in 99% of cases.
This congestion is not necessarily able to be resolved by ZOS, for example, AUS/NZ players typically have ~300 latency and that is due to distance.
On top of that you then have ISP's / Backbones and Trunks which all have choke points.
The game has more then 3 years now and no improvements what so ever have been made to the game servers, every day that passes the lag in both PvE and specially PvP is getting worse and worse. Do you think Zenimax should invest in improving the servers and deal with the lag, which cant be tolerated in an online game.
Instead of wasting more time (3 years now) in new mounts, skins, and decoration. Please improve what the game needs the most, new or better servers so we players can enjoy the game, specially in primetime...

They still share the same budget. But in this case the artist's work is most certainly already done since long.Making this simple:
~Artists don't fix servers. Their work doesn't impact your server experience.
No she communicated that in one of the cases it was due to an ISPs surge problem.~Gina Bruno communicated that the the EU Servers' issues recently was the result of an ISP Problem, not their servers.
It's not at all CP related. Go to any dead CP enabled campaign and the performance is far better. We who participated in the great No CP anywhere in Cyro experiment could easily conclude that the predominant part of the PvP performance is not due to CP.~The lag in Cyrodiil is being caused by the way that abilities are being processed by the server, not how "good" the servers are themselves. That shows in the changes they're making to ability code for Summerset, and the fact that a lot of the laggy issues are not as prevalent on non-CP Campaigns.
Once again, anything in a company spending/costing money shares the same overall budget as every other department. Even if it's not relevant here, the argument is more counter roll than substancial.Once again, an artist working on a new set of armor doesn't impact the coders' ability to fix this at all, and conflating those things is incredibly silly
So it's not a server issue, but fixes to the servers are coming...The reality is that a lot of this is so complicated behind the scenes that conflating coding and art is a painful distraction from the real issue. That, and there is examples of fixes coming to test server here in just four days. Maybe we need to help test that to see how well it works, hmm?

Just before logging into ESO I tried out other multiplayer online games, and the performance contrast with ESO was HUGE.
4 times better latency and 3 times better FPS running in max/ultra high graphics...
Same PC specs, same internet, similar game requirements or even higher.
The issue is clearly on the server side and not mine.
Were those games MMORPGs, or something other with much less players?

I haven't read all 10 pages of this thread, but I suspect the general consensus is that they'll never do this.

The people making the new content have nothing to do with optimization...

Maybe they should? Get a few more hands on deck
And keep in mind as ZOS demands people now to upgrade their PC's (no longer support X32 client), then we expect the same from them. Either bad coding from them (related to all the bugs and broken stuff around, that they are inneficient to solve) or a phsycal issue that requiere new and better servers to handle all the information.
