Please consider nerfing streak

Hello,

First of all, I’d like to say that this is not a “nerf sorc” or “hate sorc” thread. Several of my very good friends are sorcs, and I think that they would wholeheartedly agree with me about this - namely how bbroken and overpowered their class is in PVP at the moment.

Why the plea to tone down streak you may ask? While offensively speaking, magsorc is no douubt the best class out there, its burst outdamaging stamblades and stamplars alike, I think it’s even stronger when it comes to deffensive mechanics.
Since we see no real counter to shields being added anytime soon (shieldbreaker being quite useless and efffectively gimping your own character when you equip it), I say we sshould look at the other overperforming skills in the soorc arsenal.

Streak needs to be nerfed. Ever since the changes to interruptible abilities, I keep seeing sorcs streaking 2 or 3 times (something they have plenty of magicka for), and darrk dealing themselves back to full resources behind some rocks, trees, or other lines of sight. And as a magiccka dk main, my only gap closer - chains, is being absorbed by their ball of lightning (the morph of streak which absorbss all projectiles for what seems like an eternity).
Personally, I will try to use Silver Leash next patch, now that it will finally be changed to stop filthy cheaters from climbing up fort walls without sieging like overexcited monkeys on coke, but I fear it still won’t stop sorcerers from running away from fights with impunity.

With all the buffs to heavy armour, healing, and tanks in general, I thought the game was finally going the way of serious, drawn-out combat of attrition, as it should be. While I play magicka dk, I am a templar at heart, and I want to guard my house dammit. So why are there still any mechanics that help people escape combat whenever the situation turns sour from them without any penalty?

I suggest putting streak on a cooldown. Just a 10 to 12 second cool down in between streaks.
If any of you know World of Warcraft, the idea of putting skills on cooldown for people to use in a calculated manner seems like a great one. I’m sure good sorcs will still be able to streak with intelligence and rule over battlefields unchallenged, but it would go a long way in weeding out less than average leechers, and provide a great PVP experience to all of us!

Mag sorc best in PvP..... Maybe a year ago. Not anymore. Mobility is the only way a mag sorc can survive. Since I started playing MagNB and MagDK I dropped my sorc all together.

If you say magic sorc is best class in game everyone will laugh. Sorc has no spammable dps. No burst heal. No instant burst dps including the ultimates despite dps class. Everyone will rofl. lol. Haha. Magicka builds doesnt even afford to have heavy armor. Only stam builds can afford heavy armor with seventh legion.
For your information , Magic sorc is lowest choice for PVP as of now. No one will take your post serious.

Sorc has the best ranged burst, that’s it. They certainly can’t out burst a stamblade, that is just a ridiculous statement. Shields are a laughable mitigation tool when out numbered and steak has already been beaten with a nerfhammer.

With all do respect, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Sorcs are a very average class in PVP at the moment. Certainly not at the bottom, but no where near the top.

Sorcs are good. But they aren't top tier, so no nerfs needed. One of the best for duels, useful for groups, pretty low in BGs, sustain/shield is weaker (execute good in deathmatch) and above them is stamden, magblade and stamblade in openworld. They are at a well balanced point, with only a few rejigging needed.

Mobility should be a sorc's forte above all, its not as much for the mag side of things, they instead forced into spamming shields.

Streak having a harsher penalty to stop running away, but lower base cost and no penalty if damaging an enemy would be a change I would support. Better mobility in active combat situations, but less spam and disappear.

Also, "With all the buffs to heavy armour, healing, and tanks in general." What? These have been nerfed constantly, morrow nerfs, siphoner, befoul, wrath, constitution, double block ticks, block costs repeat increases, more counters etc.

EDIT: Wait, I have seen this name before. Yeah, its a troll.

I main a magsorc in pvp, and you are silly. Just because you get zapped to death and apparently don't know how to counter, you want to Nerf something already nerfed? Ridiculous....If you spent more time practicing Instead of whining, you could probably beat most sorcs more than we could beat you. Without mobility we get smashed rapidly. Even with it, we still get smashed more often than not...Just res after you die and go fight some more. You lose nothing when you die.....smh.

No, it seems like a terrible idea and directly contrary the the stated design of this game (resource management vs cooldown tracking). The devs explained in like 2014 why they don't want cooldowns in this game--for years, there weren't even soft cooldowns like the cost increase on dodge roll/streak and the skill lockout when interrupted.

No because Wrath can be applied from a safe distance before execute range and if you are melee fighting another player and you let your health dip you are dead. People complain about Snipe and what is left of RD for the same reason.
