This is when you really notice a company like Grinding Gears Games, developers of Game-of-the-Year, Path of Exile, one of the most fun and extraordinary ARPG games I've ever played. The developers were constantly telling people what was up, what they were working on, delivering content at a ridiculous pace, and ... wait for it ... server maintenance regularly of less than a minute. They also use a megaserver and serve the world, yet they always brought things down and right back up again, leaving the impression that they really knew what they were doing behind the scenes. Oh how spoiled I became while there!
An ARPG also has a LOT less moving parts than a MMO on the scale of TESO.0 -
