ZOS why can we not respec skill points one by one, the same way as champion points?

This is a great idea. Not having to reset every single one when I want to make a small change would be super handy. Plus, I tend to worry about if I will remember everything correctly and mess it up and have to do it again to make another small change. I think it should work just like CP. You plug everything in, and at the end, you save it and then it takes the gold. So you can make changes however you want until you either cancel it or save it.

In skyrim you could respec each perk tree individually using dragon souls or getting them to 100 and making them legendary (essentially resetting them back to 15) which gave you back all the points you used for that skill.

It can be done, they just don't want to.

Exactly I don't care about the cost but reapplying 300 skill points is a major pita.

Yup I agree totally. I think there should be a way to remove individual skills/morphs. Not all of them. Maybe change the respec alter so that it opens up the skill menu and charges us for each skill removed and reallocates the skill points to use later.

I don't care about the cost but trying to remember all of the point allocations when you really only wanted to change a few is a pain. After paying the gold, your skills should stay as they were with an option to remove/reallocate them one at a time.

I queued for a dungeon the other day on my DPS and after waiting for 30 minutes, decided to reset just my morphs. Before I could even start to reallocate them the group came up and I had nothing on any of my skill bars. I know It is not smart doing this when queued but a DPS never knows how long a wait they will have.

Housing becamed pretty decent gold sink same as few other lesser things. And lets be honest amount of gold on the market long time ago surpassed posibilities of skill respecs as gold sinks. Also it's not like people are not respeciing often because it cost money. Belive me lot of people would easily pay money equal to all morphs or even all skill points respec even just to respec 1-2 morphs because it's just quality of life improvement.

someone in the team had/has every intention of making it Useless Interference rather than a User Interface

This change needs to happen, along with options to save skill/morph loads, CP loads, gear and skill bar set up and to load all as 1

I remember the devs actually talking about wanting you to be able to respec single skills at a time it was one of the features I guessed wrong would be added to summerset. I'm hoping this is still on their plate and not forever on a backburner *cough* spell crafting *cough*. They talked about it a couple times during the free respecs vs forced respecs when console players got mad at forced free respecs, and they brought it up as somthing they were looking into during morrowind last year.

Completely agree, I wouldn't even moan if it was still full price for a single change like champion points are.
All I want to do is change balance to spell symmetry on my tank, and i'll have to reset the morphs on all 25-30 skills to do so as it stands

I was going to say that I can't believe this simple QoL feature hasn't been implemented after being asked for years, but then again we also still don't have a functional guild store interface (without addons), which is a critical part of the game, so I guess I'm not really that surprised.

Going a little further...

Allow people to save three snapshots of their gear, cham points, attributes, and morphs as part of the native UI. Swap between them at will. Editing each one would be the same as it is now, unless of course they decided to let us buy individual skill point changes as per the OP.

We still need this so much! I would happily pay a set amount of gold to change just one skill if necessary, hell I'd pay pretty much any amount just to save me having to add back every single skill point and morph (the crafting trees alone - ugh!) just to make a couple of small changes. And every time I re-spec I almost always make a mistake...

I don't understand why it is so hard to implement the ability to do a line respec. I just want to change one freaking line under one skill but have to redo EVERY. SINGLE. SKILLPOINT.

...You can just have the same gold cost whether you change 1 or all your skills. That's how it currently works for CP. This is a matter of needed convenience not changing the gold cost.

100% agree.

There is also a bug with resetting morphs only where it removes xp from it. I had bound aegis and wanted to respec, but didn't have enough xp in that skill anymore to choose a morph. I had to level it up 3 levels. Whats up with that?

I've been putting off respeccing my crafter because of this. She's 9 traits in woodworking, but still working on the 9th traits in blacksmithing and clothing. Rather than respec now to remove the 4 points in research and then again, I'm just chalking up the loss for the time being. Might change my mind when Summerset drops, but for now, I can't be bothered to go through ALL this to remove 4 skill points from a single passive.

I am in this same situation. I have all 9 traits researched but never freed up the research points for blacksmithing since it was last to finish. But I will need skill points for jewelry crafting.

For PC users there was a glorious add-on called Superstar which allowed you to save templates and it would reassign for you. But it has not worked since Dragon Bones.

I dread the thought of resetting all the skills and forgetting some stupid passive. It really needs to be addressed but I don't see ZOS doing it anytime soon.

It sucks, but it’s little things like this that they add in for a constant source of gold sinks, along with outfits changes..

Except that is not the point. They could charge the same gold just like with CP but let us remove or add points as needed rather than removing all points.

The gold cost is not the real issue.

But it is. The system is set so the more skill points you have, the more gold it costs and is FORCED on you.

If they let you respec one point for 10 gold, or 100 points for 10k gold, and they wanted a gold sink, they would choose the latter. It wouldn’t be a significant gold sink if someone just said, “oops i didn’t mean to buy that skill, let me refund that real quick”. People wouldn’t sink a ton of gold on respecs if they could do that.

Better yet why can't we have dual specs. Like saving a skill set, clicking a button to pay a small fee and switching to another skill set without having to do anything.
