LOL - how did politics make it into this discussion? Oh, wait...they always find a way into every discussion, no matter how apolitical it is.
the activities associated with debate or conflict among individuals or parties
@Mangeli200194, not sure what your profession is, but I think the boss also might frown on the practice of trying to siege the adjacent office building and literally eliminate the competition?Mangeli200194 wrote: »I don't know if its better in other MMO's
But at least in game= I have been repeatedly racially insulted using the N word....
I get insults and rage whispers almost every day of playing PvP(people who are happy to Xv1 you down bit get really salty when you “return the favor“.)
And somehow running in a Organized PvP Group 2-3 times a week makes you a automatically a “NO skill zergling“ (quote by a player who I later killed in a 2vs2 with a buddy of mine)
People in PvP usually say “get gut noob“ after getting steamrolled in a duell (by a werewolf) or say “take off Set X or Y“ without wanting to sacrifice anything in return.....
In short if my working colleagues would behave the way some people behave in this game (especially Cyrodiil) they would BE FIRED ON THE SPOT!

Millennials especially in my experience, walk around as if the world owes them a pat on the back and some cuddles. It doesn't. Respect is earned and before that you can expect people to disregard you completely. Its called human nature.

So I am sure not one to judge people at all but during my short time period on this game I have definitely ran into quit a few people who talk crap on low levels they play with and I just don’t understand why they do so, if you have such a problem with people why stay in a group with them and not just leave? Yes this is probably a stupid post but for such a beautiful game why do people still have to hate, I may never understand.

Anyway, in my experience, people generally get what they give. Anyone making assumptions about a player, tagging them negatively as nOOb, elitist, or anything in between is doing the same thing. No one should have to apologize for being inexperienced any more than they should have to apologize for being a highly skilled player. Bias and stereotype can go both ways, and both are usually wrong.
Again, with no context in the OP, there's no way to know.

Some just get more media coverage (and FB likes) than most.

I say old chap, are you Sirrah Kesey of the Ken. I just loved it when you said "The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer. They think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer." of course it stopped me levelling up and made me friends with Khajiits who live in wells but I do admire you and i will let you farm here while I teleport to a different area cause like it's all relative man.
Like that.

Only give advice if advice was asked for.
You didn't "give advice" because none was asked. You criticized him..you judged him. Criticizing generates destructive energy.
That's psychology 101.
I agree 100%. Imaging him giving an advice, without being asked for, it feels like critique. "why don't you use X instead of LA? Why don't u do this instead of that?" see? It feels like a condescending critique, although he might not meant to be rude.

I think most people in this game are pretty good. I like the PC population much better then they Console population. However in both I think most are still pretty good.
However people in /zone do say racist, hateful, insulting, sexist comments and do it all the time.....Not only do they do this in zone they also say this on twitch and call people out in twitch..... People in the game know that ZOS does nothing about this behavior other then ask you put them on ignore... In PVP i put 1 person on ignore almost every night from unwanted tells...
I know several players telling other players in /zone to not group people in PVP because they (SUCK) continuously insulting them while the other player knows nothing because the other player is on ignore....
I think ZOS need to enforce some basic rules.

if people followed one simple rule....JUST ONE! Treat others as you want to be treated.
So when someone is being a d**chenozzle, you can be one back?
Yes.
To the limits of what's allowed by the ToS and the EULA, ofc.
You can't berate their creed, sexual orientation, ethnic features or invite them to commit suicide (in a nutshell).
I just left from my own little horror story of just what kind of scum you can find in this game.
So, me and my girlfriend have been playing together for quite some time now, and not too long ago she got to the CP stage, and we're now just running normal dungeons so she can rack up CP levels and all that jazz.
Well, recent dungeon we went in to was White-Gold Tower, and everything went smoothly (She died a few times, but that's to be expected in a DLC dungeon against something unfamiliar), but it was all still just fine... Until we got to the last boss.
So, one of the party members (Can't be bothered to remember his name, and even then naming and shaming will get me sued on this forum) decided to become very... Aggressive towards her, using all manner of profanity because she wasn't doing that good (Kind of rich to expect someone who's relatively fresh to end-game to be a master, am I right?), and he was so abusive that she left the game, and left me cold for a while so she could play by herself to calm down a bit (Thankfully it all worked out between me and her at the end).
But this guy? This Skeevering scum of humanity? Well. After I tell him to learn to show respect to people, he continued to spam all-caps messages at me, telling me to uninstall and everything. Needless to say I decided to report him, but he has left such an impact, that the evening was more or less wrecked. Now I don't even want to log on to pick up some stuff on my main since I haven't done that yet.
So yes. The community here I would describe as... Complete and utter ***. Here I thought WoW was bad, at least there the PvE end-game was more accessible and the likelyhood of encountering such vileness was cut down a bit. In this game, it feels like... Well, it feels like a high school full of testosterone-infused frat-boys who are missing a few mind-cells.
I would also like to add one more thing...
You, the person who boldly disrespected my girlfriend in such a brazing way, I want to let you know that if I ever find you again, or just see your face again, I will make sure to do everything I can to get you banned from this game. You do not deserve to play it.
So I am sure not one to judge people at all but during my short time period on this game I have definitely ran into quit a few people who talk crap on low levels they play with and I just don’t understand why they do so, if you have such a problem with people why stay in a group with them and not just leave? Gone with the younger generations is the common decency that used to be the norm, with no accountability for ones actions or words people strive to become the lowest common denominator and take pride in that. More often than not people conduct them selves in a way they would never consider in person or in public... I blame the parents for not raising children better.

What if the job description is to eliminate the competition ?
No one should have to apologize for being inexperienced, but when someone (inexperienced) is given the opportunity to grow and actively refuse it, choosing instead to lash out at the people offering guidance... that person will receive no sympathy from me.
But, yeah, this whole thread is highly speculative, since hardly any context was given.
