Poor service and downtime, = COMPENSATION?

    There comes a point when the only logical thing for them to do would be to extend the event.

    But I dont see that happening. They are just like my family. Would never be caught dead admitting something was their fault.

    It's not about ToS or ESO+ extra hours or whatever but it is pretty much reflect that they actually care or not about the playerbase who actually has time exactly that time when the downtime is. We are in different timezones, defferent work pattern/shifts, school, family etc. and when the game is down in that time when you can spare some relaxing time playing. You can't. Once is frustrating enough but multiple times. They could just say yes sorry we will extend the event 2-3 days or we will send 20 boxes to everyone or whatever. Remember they are just digital things so it is also nothing for them. Just patch the event with the added 2-3 days and everyone is happy. That's how things work in other games. But here... not a word.

    They have to do something about this communication with the playerbase.

    As I return From my evening shift to be greeted by yet another downtime notice, 3rd or 4th in a week, after a hour of trying to log in and crash pre start of shift I think it is high time the players received some compensation.

    If my broadband is down for an hour my ISP refunds a whole day, but as an ESO plus subscriber who also buys all the DLC and Chapters and Crown crates etc we get a week of terrible service, denial of services and all we get is a post on the forums, "Thanks for your patience" it is simply not good enough for a subscription service.

    anything outside regular maintenance should be considered for a compensation peace offering, let alone during the middle of a special event where time can literally equal money (motifs).

    @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom I know you get it in the neck all day and I am sorry, but it would be nice for customers to feel appreciated when something like this happens.

    I'm certain the TOS covers them for reasonable disruption of the service.

    You would need to make a compelling argument that the disruption(s) you have experienced are unreasonable.

    Of course the definitions of reasonable and unreasonable are not so clear legally. If ZOS was able to claim that the service was available for 99% of the time (not including notified and scheduled maintenance) they win. Drop it to 85%? Still might be "reasonable". A couple of hours in one day of a month is an uptime that is and will be held as "reasonable".

    Been compensated by both Sony and MS at some point. However, those down times were a lot more extreme than this. In Sony's case, it was about as extreme as things could get with a subscription based service.

    yeah that's the legal speak, I am pretty sure every other contract I have has similar, what I am talking about is "customer service" and "customer satisfaction.

    as I pointed out when a company has failed on their side, in the UK we have good customer service who offer a good will gesture.

    ISP gives a free day on the bill or whatever, Mcdonnald's messes up my order or there is some plastic in it or whatever, you get a voucher for a replacement meal. garage botches maintenance on my car, they fix it at their expense. online gaming is an anomaly that they just say, woops we dun messed up.... oh well, lol.

    We lose 1 day in 7 for maintenance which starts at 6pm for us. Every week we don't get to play on monday after work.
    It SUCKS.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno is there any chance at looking at a different time for maintenance?

    Yep, for those of us who work full time yesterday we essentially lost a days play for the event, they've just announced maintenance for a similar time today so we will lose another day for the event. The event should be extended by 2 days. Plus other game do move around the timing of patches within a 12 hour or so window so it doesn't just affect the same timezone every time, which is a fairly significant market.

    It's good that we get extra maintenance cause I find time to finally water my plants. So instead of me, my plants get the compensation. Win-win.

    It rained all weekend, so I called GOD for reimbursement of My days off. Then I called My Boss and complained that We should work less hours, and get more pay. The local grocery store manager looked at me weird when I suggested they should have more free stuff. I don't even know why I have to pay for food, I mean seriously every one needs it to survive, why don't farmers just give Me it? It's unfair my neighbor drives a better car then Me.     Maintenance in 2018 has lot more going on then just fixing a game. Internet attacks are happening daily, and if Your not fixing that DAILY Your seriously outta touch. Security is probably #1 reason right now game is going through all this maintenance. You think European server problem was ESO fault? I really,really...suggest, and its only a suggestion.Take a Broad view of whats going on in The Real World around YOU, realize it ain't all about you in your little safe cocoon playing a video game.

    They extended first witch festival because of broken achievements.

    I think if it was knocked out for days or multiple peak time evening they would do something, but *puts on his flame resistant enchants* this mostly happened outside of peak time hours so didn't effect as many people.

    I edited be a little nicer. How about stop creating these threads if this is too much of an issue for you then maybe uninstalling and taking a break to another game is better. I don't think creating yet another thread is doing anything.

    Really it only adds up to a few cents.

    Maybe you could start a support ticket?
    Or write congress?
    Reality is you agreed to downtime.
    Even if you didn't read the terms they still apply.
