I'm completely dumbfounded how anyone puts stock in this blatant cash grab on expectations the odds are in favor of [item/trinket/mount] received.
Think of it this way: the odds of getting struck by lightning are [number] to 1.
Any person who buys these items should remember their "1" is not a guarantee lightning will strike.
Indeed, the only winner is ZoS who took advantage of someone who decided to emphasize the definition of "disposable" income.
I'm sorry, but I feel nothing to those who pay to lose.

If they hurt their revenue they wouldn't be using them. ZOS' marketing department isn't stupid, they're very good at what they do. We just don't happen to agree with how they do it.DaveMoeDee wrote: »DirtySouthWookie wrote: »48 crates, 0 mounts. I mean not even a lower tier mount or even a pet. Season is undewhelming but you bought 48 crates anyway? This is why I get annoyed when people talk like crates hurt ZOS' revenue.

Crown Crates are like any form of gambling “sometimes you eat the bear, and sometimes the bear eats you”. If people want to take a chance on a rare mount then that is their prerogative. As to whether I am for or against crown crates, I think I lean more towards being against them for the following reason:
One of the great things about this game is that you meet people from all walks of life: from different countries, different cultures, different viewpoints and quite frankly different financial circumstances. Some of those I play with are people that are dedicated to this game. They put a lot of time and effort into ESO, pay a monthly subscription but they can’t afford to spend additional money on crates. I think the trend of reserving some of the coolest cosmetics in the game: mounts, houses, skins, emotes, mementos etc. for those who can afford to spend the money required to obtain them is unfair to these members of the ESO community. I appreciate that everyone gets the chance of 3 free crates every few months but that doesn’t stop the fact that players are being split into those that can afford to buy the cool looking things and those that can’t. While it isn’t “pay to win” it is definitely “pay to look good”. Personally, I think that everything on the crown store should have some form of access in game whether through gold, writs vouchers, telvar, AP etc, so that all members of the community have a fair opportunity to obtain them even if it takes a lot of time and effort.
I also have a gripe when you are actually lucky enough to get an apex mount but you already have it. You get 33 gems??? Why not just give the cost to buy a different mount which is 400 gems.
Ultimately, I spent some of my cash on crown crates but I also spent some on women and alcohol, the rest of my cash I spent foolishly.
Today must be an emo day. Because the game and everything hates me.
Seriously though, not a single mount? WTH is up with that??

The RNG is an evil sadist, that's what's up with it. I did 10 myself and got crap, while a friend opened 2 next to me and got a motif. RNG thinks the tears of the unlucky are delicious. Someday someone will develop the technology to force the RNG into a corporeal form and then we the unlucky can grab baseball bats and show the RNG what it feels like to roll nothing but lowballs!
