The Rift was brutal for some reason.
I was not looking forward to standing with a cane pole in Cyrodiil. Surprisingly, I didnt see a single soul the whole time.

I have votan which is great but it only shows visual clues. Id like to have a sound clue as well
you can set votan's to give you audio cue. its what I personal use. just look in settings, there should be an option to enable auto cue AND chose which sound you want it to be.

as sure as the fact that its what I'm using personaly in reel-in event settings, right under animation setting - between it and color setting actualy, there is a setting for sound, where you can chose which sound effect to use. personaly, I'm using achievement sound, as its fairly sharp and loud and I won't confuse it with other sound effects.
to set it up - go into settings, addons (not add-ons, don't ask me why there are 2 separate setting tabs, i have no idea) - scroll down to fisherman. when you select it you can see all the settings you can adjust
You pc players and your add ons.

I totally agree. I got the white roughy river fish 5 times! Before I received the muskellunge. I got a group of 3 and got it first node....

pinkempyreal✭✭✭Shadowfen. It seemed there was always someone else fishing in the 2 or 3 lake and foul holes... It took forever to get even one of the fish. I spent quite a few hours trying for them all then one day I got almost all of the rares in a row.
Also ocean fish in Cyrodiil. I caught most with ease but with the ocean fish I got chewed by slaughterfish quite a few times down by the AD base... it was quite tiresome being in DC with no captures trying to get back there time and time again... lol.1 -

I've experienced the same. Maybe we should learn to stop after 5 nodes and do something else? Ha

✭✭RNG is a strange beast.
Finished Rivenspire yesterday,took over 500 casts to get the final blue lake fish,but took under 70 to get all of the ocean fish and two of those are blue.
Coldharbour next.

Joshuagm1991✭✭✭Congrats! I spent quite a while on the ocean fish there. I remember that place being trouble though. Easiest for me has been Stormhaven. Hardest has been Clockwork city but that might not count.0

✭✭this may be anecdotal. but I'm starting to think that whatever is the last fish you need? is going to take the longest. doesn't matter if its the one where fishing holes are plentiful or there's only 2 of them for the entire zone. if its the last one you need? it will take twice as long as the rest of them combined.
at least that has been my experience so far, so I started to preview zones for the availability and finish out the types that have fewest available holes - first. that way at least I don't have to wait for hole respawns as long when I'm hunting for that last illusive fish.

Joshuagm1991✭✭✭Almost done and it's taken me a while. I had to take a break so I completed Cyrodil quests. After I get Grahtwood's lake blue fish I only have Greenshade and Reaper's to do. Then a few I. coldharbour.
If I see one more effing dreughfish....
Anyone else have trouble with Grahtwood's freshwater? Foul was actually decently easy for me.0 -
G1Countdown✭✭✭✭✭I just finished my last zone, Imperial City. The other zones were quite a while ago, so I can't recall specifics. I know Reaper's March gave me trouble, that I gave it a few months till I went back to fishing in the future.
Imperial City wasn't really that difficult. But, getting randomly ganked at times really interrupted my fishing mojo. At one point there were two of us fishing. I was hugging the wall and fishing and the other was out in the open. My partner was ganked (but not killed). I proceeded to stun and attack the ganker. Then the ganker seemed to freak out not realizing there were two of us and started hightailing it. We killed him/her with in a few seconds from there. Guess he/she should have stalked us more thoroughly.0 -
smacx250✭✭✭✭✭I've done all zones except Clockwork - that seems to be taking forever. With all the fish in the same water type, the "loot pool" is very dilute and I'm just getting tons of duplicates working on the last few fish. Unless there's some wrinkle I'm not aware of...1 -

Oh how fun! I'm glad you had help there. Sounds like the funnest / hardest place to collect all the trophy fish.0 -

This will not make you feel better... But I caught all 9 greens multiple times trying to get megalazbu or however you spell it. I caught it by myself by the innate axiom set station down in the crevice. I hope that helps! A friend of mine caught his there too.

✭✭Clockwork City was by far the hardest for me, simply because all of the fish are found in Foul Water, which means that it doesn't narrow down the possible loot pool by the water type, like in other zones. Getting that last fish was a pain in the ass.1 -

There are several zones like that, but I've only completed Clockwork out of all of them so far. Still need to catch 3 blue fish out of Coldharbour and do the imperial city.
It feels great when you catch that last fish though. 0 -
