What is the hardest zone you've fished so far?
For me it's Rivenspire Ocean Fish - snakehead in particular.

Do you have any theories about increases in luck?
I've once thought caldwells hat increases a luck factor. Why? How has Caldwell survived in Coldharbour?
Second, have you ever laundered and held onto "lucky" pickpocketed items? I've kept lucky Neriad foot and good luck charm.

I really don't think it helped but maybe!!

Right now my bane is one of the green fish in Grahtwood - foul water never spawns for me near Haven, and the Ossuary spots only appear sporadically. The foul water fish in the Alik'r were pretty rough too IIRC.

for now, it was sewer eel in Cyrodil. it just refused to drop. i literally fished all the way around imperial city island (I don't mean inside the city, I mean that lake where the city is located in Cyrodil proper) several times over, before that thing deigned to drop. on a plus side, i didn't get ganked even once and some of that fish gave me perfect roe so.. silver lining?

that said, given the trouble I'm having with river fish in auridon already.. i'm sure my worst fish will change soon enough.

I think it took me over 2000 fish to get the final blue fish in Clockwork City. I got the other 11 in probably 2-3 hours, between fishing alone and then a group coming and inviting me along. That last one just refused to drop and it took me a couple more weeks (I'd fish for awhile and then need a break so it at least wasn't hours and hours a day for weeks but still...) before I finally got it.

And apparently I am a glutton for punishment because I have started a second angler.

Actually yes, still need the blue fish that starts with an M. I've gotten the other blue 3 times.

Yikes. Yeah still haven't done Cyrodil yet. Sounds horrible. But also imagine the aldmeri ocean spot will be rough since I'm D.C.

The dab fish in Wayrest, and the blue fish in Eastmarch foul and river waters were the hardest/longest for me

I meant Madter Angler fish BUT for some reason I've done clockwork city and can seriously vouch that has been the hardest so far. Needed the Enmegelazbu and took me about 1k.

I caught mine near the akyahard and one of the crafting spots. The one that gives max stam and magicka. I fished there because someone had 2 drop on the same hole.

Is that the one you need?

But do have to say stormhaven has been easiest so it makes up for it. Win some lose some

I actualy expected it to be far worse then it was. i thought I'd get killed multiple times. but I only saw one other person the entire time I was there, and they were also there to fish, so.. you never know. and its not that the zone was empty, there was constant sieges going in and chat was active. its just... everyone was out by castles and towns rather then near the fishing spots. so.. good luck!

P.S. from my experience, there are only 2 ocean holes. there is a third hole further down, but for whatever reason it counts as river? or lake.. i can't remember. its... about as odd as ocean holes themselves being in a stream O_O but that's what it is...

There's actually 4 ocean holes but you have to get through the slaughterfish to get to the other 2 holes. Trust me, it can be done!

I did almost all of my fishing solo.
The final river fish in Cyro (which I think was green?) took me I think over500 bait. I ran out of bait, ran out of secondary bait and had to go out to get more, then nearly ran out of the new stuff as well. But yeah the Rift ones were special. Any zone that has a very limited number of pools in which to catch a particular fish, is annoying. My final fish - one in Stonefalls - also refused to drop for ages. Whereas the purple Wrothgar fish that the NPC suggests "requires a group" I got within two fishing holes, also solo.

The Hew's Bane ones also were rather troublesome, but the IC ones... yep. Worse than Cyro, trying to find a spot where you're relatively sheltered so you don't get ganked, and also at the time I did it, you could also catch foul water (overland) Cyrodiil fish. (I'd like to think I got that fixed, since I posted a ticket and they announced it in the next patch.)

Edit: such fun in Cyro, doing the "Ocean" fishing holes... I did try to get to the slaughterfish guarded holes, and died. And had to ride ALL the way back down there from the DC gate

Nope, it's do-able for sure. I stick a mutagen on myself, drink an increase health potion and find just the right spot to run like hell and jump.

hissmir helps you see what type of bait to use and make the holse glow from further away, but you still need to have a general idea of where to look and it doesn increase your rare fish chances.

personaly, I'm using http://teso-guides.com/the-elder-scrolls-online-fishing-maps to help me where to go, as well as votan's fisherman addon (helps to play on pc). but even with help, it is very much a time consuming endeavor.

I have currently spent three days trying to get the blue fish for river and ocean from Grahtwood, those two have been a bigger pain than anything else in the Dominion.

That's fine if you don't believe me. You fish where you risk being ganked and I will fish in peace on the other side. All 5 of my Master Anglers are EP and they all got through the slaughterfish. I don't make videos of everything I do so believe me........or not!

The last fish in every type of water was the hardest, in every zone.

Imperial city was the hardest due to the small zone and pvp, but the blue fish from Cyrodiil foul water took the longest for me.

I used it a fair bit when I first embarked on the achievement. Then I found a decent site (Linaleah posted it) and didn't bother anymore. It's a nice helper but if you have to buy it, might not be worth it.

I use Votan's Fishing addon too; it marks fishing hole spawn locations with a hook and if you fish out of them once it will change the mouseover text and the color of the hook to tell you what kind of fish you get out of it.

I still recommend reading a book in the background while you fish though.

Music helps. If a fish remains elusive just go away & do something else or you will drive yourself mad with frustration.

Still working on this. My maxed main does this sporadically but usually have such limited game time forget to do this. Trying to remember to do on other chars but again as cast time can be sooooo long I would rather get on & do other stuff!

But one day, this title will be mine. Oh yes it will be mine.
