    I don't care
    I don't care.

I purchased it a year ago knowing full well it would be cheaper in future. I've had and enjoyed the expansion for months and got my value from it.

It's strange to see people so upset about this when we can all go buy any game and see it in the pre-owned or discounts only a month later. If you want to play at a launch you pay the RRP, if you want to save money or get things free you wait time.

    Upset? Why?

I'd be upset if Morrowind had been such a quality and quantity content that I would feel ripped off giving it away.

But it's not. It's a passable DLC, shorter to complete than Wrothgar, which actually had the qualifications to be called a chapter. So, if Wrothgar has been considered "just" a DLC, it's fair Morrowind ends up as one too.

I've been playing the Morrowind content since its launch and well got my money's worth, so I really don't mind.

And if this offer entices new people to buy the game and try it out, I feel we'd all profit from that as well. The more people joining this game and keeping it alive and healthy, the better! :)

    Kinda upset
I'm more annoyed that BG's - the main reason I bought it - have the kind of problems that makes me just not play them.

This kind of makes it not worth the money for me personally - then seeing it free feels a bit like getting kicked while already down.

Makes me want to not bother paying for Summerset - I mean, I don't think there's anything there I really want enough o warrant paying for - unless the Psyjic line turns out to be a must-have in PVP - so I'll assume they're following that model, leave it and get it free when the chapter after comes out..

    Kinda upset
Kinda upset - paid $40 for Morrowind digital upgrade. Didn't get a mount, only got a pet I will never use, and the "treasure maps" were broken for so long they were essentially useless. Still haven't played battlegrounds as I'm not a PvP player and all I hear is "pre-made groups win, don't bother if you're not good at PvP."

It's nice ZOS lowered the price on supposedly more area to explore, AND give you a free expansion PLUS a mount, but that makes it seem like early adopters are just ZOS chumps. Be excited for ESO so we can milk you to give free *** away later when we lose player base with an overpriced, overhyped expansion that was mostly PvP and the PvE players were pissed.

Kinda like launch...my Scuttler is named "PRE-ORDER EXCLUSIVE" and my monkey is "PLAYED IN BETA". Mounts seem the opposite - better buy it in the Store, or you'll just be out more later for *&^#$^&%&@#$ crates.

Pretty much this. ZOS seems to care less and less about long term players and more about new players every major update. This has begun getting on my nerves and now "free" access to the last expansion with the preorder of this one just makes it seem like they are laughing in the faces of all who bought/preordered Morrowind right away. Gold edition was a hint of this but atleast there was an alternative in eso plus for the dlc

I find it rather odd and amusing to be upset. The word "Upset" is over-magnified word. Nothing is truly free in the end. A common offer from Developers to grant previous expansion cheap if pre-purchasing the newest chapter/expansion in the current case. Why would anyone be upset at all? Tis their money not yours. A very generous offer.

In case you wasn't aware: Morrowind deal on the Steam --33%Off.

Buy The Elder Scrolls Online - Morrowind
Includes The Elder Scrolls Online base game and The Morrowind Chapter

WEEKEND DEAL! Offer ends 28 March

As for people who bought Morrowind expansion few days ago, do not grief. Time is money after all. Two and half months could be incredibly long wait for particular people. One can experience Morrowind to the fullest by the time of Summerest and then fully focus on the expansion.

I would be slightly upset only If I bought product which doesn't work properly and For instance I haven't received re-fund.

Honestly? Not really feeling very upset or anything. I feel nothing for the free offer (Which reading upon it, says that it is for a limited time).

It would be a good offer for those people who are jumping in to the game right now as it is on the Free Week/Weekend period, which I can see how it can be a good thing.

There really is no guarantee that I would have known that this would have happened, but even then I would have bought it, even so far as to get a Collector Edition (Digital, never can find a physical Collector Edition in Slovenia). I guess that is because I am a bit of a fan of the game. It's not a bad game, and I appreciate how I can level in the game just through exploration, as opposed to strictly questing.

It's not bad that people couldn't get the morrowind can now have it. I believe it can make battlegrounds a little bit more populated too.

I'm upset that they could have made dlcs with no explorable zones free. And I'm upset because this expansion is no different than a dlc so why eso+ members paying for this?

Bigger playerbase for contents is a good thing. Although I'm a bit disappointed because as a sub who already purchased base game, Imperial and Morrowind, pre-order packs don't offer me much interesting stuffs. I'm not a fan of wierd mounts. I like costumes and pets but not those that come with the pack. The motif look too much like ancient elf to me.

Not at all, but guess all the entitled people will be stressed.

I bought MW for BG and enjoyed playing them all this while (except when they went CP) for £20 ive had my value, if people get a better deal a year later who cares. And it means BG pop will spike.

On the other hand Summerset delivery nothing of value to me.

I bought Morrowind in August for £17,86 from G2A .com. That seemed a fair price for the content to me.

Games are often cheaper or given away for free when newer content comes out, nothing unusual about this at all.

Couldn't care less tbh. I've played it for the best part of a year and it will be good to see more people have access to it. I mean, you could apply this to the game its self. I bought ESO at full price on Xbox, but when I moved over to PS4, I got almost everything for under £8 as others will have too. People also get all the dlc free in a manner when they purchase any GOTY edition.

By the time Summerset launches I would have enjoyed Morrowind for more than a year, ran all overland content on a Warden - my 5th playtrough overall - and dipped a bit into battlegrounds. I paid for that privilege and I have no reason to be upset. But I won't pre-order Summerset, since I have shifted my focus from questing/exploring to more end game activities like trials. I am yet to do Halls of Fabrication and Asylum Sanctorum on veteran, my experience in Maw of Lorkhaj is still very limited, and runs have not smoothed out enough to my liking so I can attempt HM and I haven't been able to get the challenger achievements out of the lastest 4 DLC dungeons. My tanking and healing is passable, my melee DD abilities are mediocre, and my ranged DPS is sub par. All of those are much higher priorities ATM and need serious work, and I'd rather do that than simply doing quests, getting more skill points (I have 360+ on 5 chars) or crafting jewels (I have stacks from very good sets). The new trial is likely to be even harder than the new ones, so unless I work hard on my progression, it will be out of reach. So I will only buy Summerset when it comes on sale, at a steep discount, a few months after it's released.

    I'm actually kinda happy
I'm a bit disappointed that I pre-ordered it at full price and then found out a) all the "pre-order" bonuses I wanted were still included in the collectors edition after release and b) it was 1/2 price just a few months later. If I'd known both those things I would have waited and bought it after release.

But even if I'd known then that it'd be free with Summerset I would have bought it earlier. It was frustrating enough waiting from the announcement to release to make my warden, I wouldn't want to wait over a year, and then have even more content to catch up on.

I'm happy that they're bundling them together though because it reduces the perceived barrier to new players joining and returning players coming back. Same as when they sold Morrowind and the base game together. If someone has heard about Elder Scrolls Online just recently (or maybe knew about it but for whatever reason didn't play until now) there's likely to be 2 things putting them off getting it:
    1) Everyone else will be at/close to the max level so newbie zones will be dead and they'll have hundreds of hours of solo grinding to do to catch up.
    2) They'll have to buy loads of different things to get the whole game, which will be very expensive and potentially confusing.

But now if they do some research they'll find out that:
    1) Level scaling keeps all zones current for everyone so they're still well populated and they can play in whichever maps they want right from the start.
    2) Buy Summerset and you'll have all the boxed releases. Even better buy the Complete Edition and get the first 4 DLCs as well.

I am expecting some complaints from people who buy Summerset/Complete Edition and then find they have to buy the DLCs separately or subscribe to get them, although I hope not because I can't count how many times I've told people on the Guild Wars 2 forum "in any other game the Living Story would be called DLC, everyone would have to pay for it and no one would be surprised by that". But we'll burn that bridge when we come to it.

I don't care. Whys hould I? I wanted an early access and bonus items for Morrowind pre-order, and I got them. I had a lot of fun at Vvaedenfell. If I knew the Chapter 1 will be free in a year, I would have pre-ordered Morrowind, anyway, to get early access and bonus items and fun at Vvaedenfell.

Very happy, because it's good for the playerbase =)

This is exactly how WoW works with expansions as well, previous become free when a new one launches. Otherwise, you end up with an MMO that has a colossal cost-of-entry fee for new players interested in the complete package. On the flip side, we're now looking at $60 providing an amazing value proposition, of all the base game content, the DLC locations, Vvardenfell, and the Summerset Isles :star:

I bought Morrowind on February 14th, during a sale.

I fully expected the price either to drop again or for it to be bundled with the new chapter. I believe I even said to a friend something along the lines of, “Last chance to make money off of Morrowind before it’s free!” It seems entirely reasonable to me to have expected this as the cost of entry for new players simply cannot continue to rise indefinitely. Devaluing older content just makes sense. Anyone who bought Morrowind at launch and is upset now is just being silly.

I can explain the timing of my purchase as easily as this: I was ready to consume more content. I had finally completed every major questline available to me and had achieved a number of personal goals. I was ready for new adventures and new challenges. And I waited for a sale because I’m thrifty and frankly to me, full-priced chapters like Morrowind and Summerset seem poor value for the price. By that I mean, it doesn’t seem like much content for the same cost as a full game.

So no, I’m not upset at having purchased Morrowind one month ago. Main reason? I’m in no hurry to buy Summerset either. That I will buy it I have no doubt. That I will buy it on sale seems pretty dang likely too, so it may be a while. In the meantime, I’ve had a great time leveling two Wardens and still haven’t finished the primary story even once yet. If I run out of content before Summerset is significantly discounted I might start to get agitated but with so much to do I believe I can keep busy. I definitely have no intention of waiting until it’s ‘free.’
