Anyone here who doesn’t have morrowind already can catch up for just $30. People should do that and it’s good for the game.

Personally I wish I’d bought my wife the gold edition 2 weeks ago instead of morrowind with the base game. If anyone has a friend on the fence about this game, the gold edition plus this 2 chapter upgrade is an amazing deal.

    I don't care
It's a tactical business move on ZOS' part. I suspect it will only apply to the pre-order offer to entice newer players who may feel like buying both chapters is too expensive.

As a long-time gamers, I've seen this happen before. It's nothing new. You paid to play that content when it came out, os you didn't have to wait until some deal like this came along. That is your perk. Not happy? Fine. From now on, just sit and wait for the best possible deal whenever new content comes out.

The more people that can get into the Halls of Fabrication, the better. :)

Can't stand it when a portion of the playerbase can't run content because it's behind a DLC or chapter.

No I'm not upset at all.

Sure, if you waited till now you could have got SS with MW free. But why stop there. If you wait until the 10th chapter you'll probably get the previous ones free.

it IS a pre-order only bonus :) or more specifically digital pre-purchase only bonus. and I quote from prepurchase page

    https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/joinus
*The Morrowind Chapter is included with a digital pre-purchase of The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset, The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset Digital Collector's Edition, The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset Upgrade, and The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset Digital Collector's Edition Upgrade. Note that this offer is only valid for players who do not already own the Morrowind Chapter. Offer available until June 12, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Nope, completely expected something like this to transpire. While I did wait to pick up MW, no way I was going to wait an entire year just to get it free. I just assumed that with each new doc the previous ones would be available for crowns/subbers.

I’ve been playing games long enough to know that deals and promotions are going to come up and I will eventually pay for something that will be massively discounted or even free later. I’m ok with it and I’m happy for the people who are going to get to take advantage of it (but I still got the collectors edition of it).

I knew if I waited long enough, I'd be able to buy Morrowind for half off eventually, because expansions ALWAYS go on sale after a while.
I chose to buy it on Day 1 regardless.
    No regrets.

No issue with it. Ultimately if you have to sink £80 to get both DLC's thats going to put a lot of people off. This brings new folk in.

As the title says, are you upset that Morrowind is now sort of free for pre-ordering Summerset?

Think about it. If people still have to pay $40 to get each chapter, new players are looking at $120 paywall to get access to the game. And this is just year 2, next year new players will face a $160 paywall, 2 years from now it will be a $200 paywall, so it guarantees that no new player will play your game.

It's the same like the Gold Edition where $40 gets you base game and 4 DLCs (IC+DB+TG+Orsinium) instead of just the base game.

"Preorder Summerset and you'll get Morrowind!" was second thing I said to my friends (after "Wow, Mefala in physical CE! Razum-Dar's journal!").
Third was "You must preorder it!".
I'm glad they will have possibility to play Morrowind without spending more money. Especially considering the fact that ESO+ doesn't unlock it. I hope this will be not the only time.
As for myself - I prefer preordering physical CE. I have chapter expensive and quickly (well... 9-16 days since release. My country... delivery...), they will have much later but "free". This is fair, I believe.

I think ZOS should of given those players who already had purchased Morrowind something else in its place. Morrowind was not a DLC but an expansion. But that is not ZOS's way of doing things. To them screw the players who had bought Morrowind earlier. So those players who are new to the game or those seasoned players who did not purchase the Morrowind expansion now get two for one. To all you players who held out on buying Morrowind smart move. You saved some bucks.

I preordered Morrowind and have only recently even quested in it. Probably because I got a good taste on the PTS and I really would like to work my way through all the core maps before I hit the DLC's and expansions. It's taken me a good long while and I am nowhere near done with all the Cadwells' have to offer.

But I think it's a very good idea not to put up a huge paywall to new players hoping to join in all the fun. This same argument consumed enormous amounts of forum space in GW2 when they bundled the base game in "free" with an expansion purchase and so far I'm not seeing here any variations from that earlier debate.

    It's complicated.
I'm glad no one will have to shell out a 80 more on purchase to get the "Full" game...
Yet, I still have now paid 140 on this damned thing to stay up to date.

I feel a bit cheated - Like I haven't really gotten much from this "deal" save another expense.

No, I'm not upset. I care, but I'm neither upset nor over the moon happy about it. I pre-ordered Morrowind before it was released. I didn't give any thought to the idea that it might be available for crowns or for free after a certain amount of time. I pre-ordered Summerset today with the same mind set. I want it, I bought it and come May 21, I'll be able to play it. I'm also really excited about it! :)

Yep, This is how I support a game I really like. Eventually, everything will end up being discounted/free. I'm paying for the ability to play it NOW instead of waiting for 2 years. ALL games do this. If I wanted to get back into WoW, I'm sure I can buy a combo pack that has everything current since I stopped playing after Lich King for MUCH cheaper than if I bought all the expansions separately. This is just the normal lifecycle of MMO's.

Morrowind was not and still not free. Obviously you have to pay something for it still. Your just paying for two chapters instead of one. Its a nice move on their part. I think they are doing it to convince those that had not gotten Morrowind to buy it with the latest chapter.

Its more of a "Buy the new expansion, get the old expansion free" deal. I'm paying the same for Summerset as I did for Morrowind when it first came out.

I think its a little messed up. I mean I know they need forms of income but I felt morrowind to be more of a dlc feel just with extras bundled in. If it was still p2p there wouldnt be this issue, years from now when the map fills out newbies will buy the entire package of the game for a fraction of what well pay. Of course we will be far more developed by then. Maybe give + members a loyalty discount if this will be the trend?
