Honestly, I kinda hope it is chapter or DLC exclusive just so we can get it over with - the complaining about it I mean. If the new dlc's and chapters aren't allowed to add interesting new abilities for players then that extremely limits what new content that can be produced. So, better to take the hit now and watch the forums burn with people screaming P2W and threatening to quit, than limit what the game can do for the future expansions. Obviously, I'd rather things be balanced and not outright OP, but you know how the forums can be...if anything is .01% better it's OP, and if anything is .01% worse it's useless. *shrug*

Are DLCs P2W? NO. You pay for content and those players get to experience that content. This topic has been discussed since IC launched.

If you wanna see real P2W look at freemium games.

Warden is different. If this skilline is OP and not just useful little stuff like IDK finding plants or something. Then it is directly P2W.

Sets are all replaceable, you lose out the bonuses of another. A class is replaceable, you lose the passives/skills of others (Though warden should be free.) A skill line could end up giving a class a broken mix of skills others cannot have.

Soooo... Lets say I play WoW and didn't buy Legion expansion, my cap is lvl100 and I was killed by lvl110 Demon Hunter. And that guy payed for that level and class!! So it's official, WoW is P2W game now...

Now serious, you guys should be glad that you can play most of end game content without buying new DLC or expansions, its something that not all games have

P2W.... I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Pay for content, is more appropriate.

People throw around P2W these days as much as they do the term fat shaming, while having no idea what either means or how the term should be used accurately, it just a negative connotation phrase used to throw shade at something they do not like.

P2W would be for example to get weapons that are better than what you can find in game sold in Crown Store directly of available in Crown Crates. If that happens I will simply stop logging in the game and I'm probably not the only one who would react like this. The majority of players will leave, since it's clear that by that point the game had jumped the fabled Skar emperor crab ...

I for some reason doubt it's an entire new class. I feel they will do that with every other Chapter launch.

Since the skills will likely not inherently be tuned to be intentionally stronger than alternative class and guild skills, it is objectively not pay to win.

Its no different then the warden itself being locked behind morrowind.

Its only p2w when the skills are mathematically superior by design.

Well just to be clear, its important to understand that (supposedly based on reliable data mining) this skill line is of the fighters guild / mages guild calibur meaning the skills for the psijic order will have actual combat relevancy rather than unique dlc rp perks.

Depends on what matters to you about the game and thus what your definition of "win" is.

I'd say yes. However, I put the blame on the playerbase, the people who, when faced with a game with ongoing expenses of maintaining a server an continuing content updates, whined "I don't WANNA pay a subscription." Sub-only was the right way, but the players failed, and we got this instead. So if you're mad about it, blame the people responsible.
