PC players - How do you swap bars?

Mouse? Keyboard? Psychokinesis?

I'm currently using a crappy mouse and I use the middle mouse button to swap. This is how I have always done it. However, the middle mouse button on this POS mouse is supertempermental - sometimes it sticks sometimes it doesn't but it doesn't register that I've clicked it. So until I get my new mouse I'm going to need to find an alternative way which is super annoying as I only use MMO mice as I love the thumbpads. But what about you - how do you swap bars?

I've used the "~" key for a long time since it's just next to the numerical ones I use for skills and I haven't used a gaming mouse. Just bought one and realized one of the side buttons performs the same function. I'd try to get used to that.

i have three extra Buttons on my Mouse and use one of them to swap weapons. it's so easy this way, can't believe people use ~ xD the button is so much easier to use!

I use the second left mouse button on a red dragon perdition gaming mouse but also have it as the default key as well. BTW, you can pick up a gaming mouse on Amazon for $12( 5 button from red dragon) to $32( for the one i have) and get a decent multi-functional mouse. Dont need to spend a bunch of money on one.

I usually use the Logitech G600 but this time I thought I'd try a Utech one. It hasn't lasted long though!

Question to people who use the number buttons on the keyboard to use skills - how the heck do you control your player? I mean, I use my mouse to look around and the skills are loaded onto the numpad on the mouse and then I use WASD to manouver. Just curious is all.

on the thumb pad on the mouse i use 2 for forward, 5 for back, 1 and 4 for left, 3 and 6 for right. This allows me to roll my thumb and move. Takes some getting use to and im still not fully use to rolling my thumb in the heat of battle but i always have been kind of bad at pushing multiple buttons while focusing on what is going on in fights.

My abilties and actions and misc functions are still keyboard bound. Actually everything is keyboard bound. As my mouse is programmed to do the same as certain keys on the keyboard rather than replace it. So i use wsad to move out of combat and my mouse thumbpad in it.

I have a gaming mouse with one of the side buttons set to bar swap but I end up using the default "~" 99.99% of the time. I find it a bit awkward to press the side buttons on the mouse.

I use the Razor Imperator mouse.
The side buttons are wep swap, and synergy sync.
I have considered buying a better mouse. But a better keyboard with Cherry MX Speed switches will come first.

I have it mapped to NumPad + on my keyboard.

It's a nice big button. I have all the combat controls for my left hand mapped to NumPad buttons. I can then shove the keyboard off to the left on my desk and bring my mouse more in towards the centre for greater comfort.

that is an interesting solution. I have a tiny desk, i was just going to make a bigger custom desk. I can set the DPI on my mouse so i have to drag it across the room to get the arrow across the screen or so i can barely twitch my wrist and move it across the screen. I play with my mouse more center of my body on the desk rather than off to the side. If i play with it straight on most of my arm has to hang off the desk. Across body allows most of my arm on the desk which is more comfy.

The 'R' key. Easy to swap, easy to reach 3,4,5 immediately after/before, easy to swap when moving in direction other than to the right. No need to stretch fingers for something this important and commonly used.

What about ULTs? I was using my ultimates when not needed so much when I first started playing, I remapped it to 7, then linked that to the top button on my Logitech MX 518 (it's not middle button, but top of the mouse, near where the index finger joins the palm of my hand - best place for ULT button IMHO - always hit it when I need to, almost never when I do not intend to ).

I use that psychokinesis one - I find thinking of swapping bars and not having it happen works about as good as a keymap!

But seriously - I ditched "swap" when they introduced the "select" capability (double swap used to be a thing with lag - not sure how it is now). So I use "~" to select bar 1, and "tab" to select bar 2.

Use the scroll up for bar 1 and scroll down for bar 2. You’ll never have to worry about a double bar swap by accident. And even in lag, when you scroll, you will be sending multiple commands to change to that bar. You’ll just need to change your zoom in zoom out to different keys.

I use Q for bar 1 and E for bar 2. In doing so I encounter less lag and confusion during fights.

Mouse scrollwheel up: swap to bar 1
Mouse scrollwheeel down: swap to bar 2

No clicking. Just scrolling. And it's deterministic. No worries about hitting swap twice. If I want to be on the front bar, I just roll that wheel up until I'm there.

I bar swap a lot. My mouse has two left side thumb buttons. One is bar swap, other activates synergies.

I have small hands, the ~ key was always super awkward for me. I have a fancy mouse with extra buttons, so I picked the one that sits pretty much under my thumb.

R. I moved almost every major function from the default, designed around fluid combat without having to move my left hand, just my fingers. This only works with having at least one button on the side of my mouse, which I use for my spammable if there is one. Middle is ult.

MMO mouse with 12 buttons on the side handle all my skills, weapon swap, potions and more. Other hand merely handles movement. Synergy has two keybinds, one on the mouse and a second one to use in vHRC HM when my normal one is deactivated to prevent my natural response ot grab the synergy.,

Side button on the mouse for ez thumb clicks

the default key layout is just awful for a lot of cancels, having it on the mouse leaves your left hand free for casting and movement.
