Had this as well. Was just Standing and suddenly my Stam drained a bit, wasn't even in combat or moving

Happening before and after. More so after. Fossilize is doing some weird double cc thing. Literally broke free and was instant cc again.

[edit] I found out i actually have a video of the latter. Got knocked down by binding javelin and the game ignored my hammering of the CC break button (with full stamina) until my character almost got up from the knockdown on his own:https://youtu.be/F4Ew34FZIDU
To me it looks like the game prioritizes the "being stunned" animation(arms flailing, or lying on the ground etc.) and does not allow you to start the break free animation until the former completes.

It’s not that it prioritizes the being stunned animation...
It’s that you don’t get CC immunity from breaking free of the first part of a “double CC”
A double CC being a CC with two separate animations.
There are three I can think of off the top of my head - javelin, draining shot, and vamp stun. The first two are a knockback followed up by a stun. If you break free during the knockback, you’ll still be stunned
The vamp CC is weird in its own way.
