Even after buying the storage chests, I had plenty left over to buy a good 500 satchels and get a good supply of mats for my potion addict Argonian without issue. I don't need bots, just got to tolerate IC for a few hours and I'm good.

I am not talking about health potions which is around 500g for 100 .
I talking about potions such as spell critical , deduction, invisible. major savargery. All costs around 10K minimum for 100 in guild store. Which not even last for 1-2 hours.

Ok, this is a troll thread.

And so you know, the Brotherhood daily goods is alchemy based. If you get a potion satchel often its regents.
Also 10k min when 75 regents have been used isnt really that bad. Plus if you don't like the length, put into the passives and they last longer.

Your actual point is that everything should be roughly equal in value according to how you value them. There are single player games for that kind of thing. You farm my gold rings, I farm your potions, that's how it works. Complaining about something that is clearly just another opinion based on an extreme spectrum of how the game can be played is rather pointless. The cause of your problem is not that there is something wrong with alchemy, the cause is that you only want to experience a very narrow part of the game that happens to be heavy on the requirement for alchemy crafting. Learn to cope or play differently.

First of all this game is for everyone to play and enjoy in a legitimate way. Not for few players.
Every day farm for 2 hours - 3 hours , if you are lucky and nodes active and go to cyrodil . Otherwise wake up at midnight and farm when no one in server. Don't do any missions . Or use bots to farm while offline. Very good argument. If alchemy is not overpowered or misused , why should everyone bother. Alchemy issue is not a problem of me.
Its already complained in many of public forums, even before I started playing. For single player content I don't need crafted potions handy all times other than veteran dungeons and trials.
I need 100 spell critical or any crafted potions and want to make it legitimate way for cyrodil PVP. Each potion will last 1 minute game play with max perks . I also need for tougher contents. I am at level 50 in alchemy with all collection perks in CP. How to do that ? You cannot answer these questions. Put another vague irrelevant comment or personal insulting.
Heavy requirement for alchemy is fine. Heavy requirement even to collect resources??? When I go nodes is already farmed. Is it a problem of players to like to farm ? In my experience alchemy nodes empty in almost most cases. Even next near close clothing or enchantment nodes are fine and glowing. Wtf ???

Hate to say it man but you are the one who doesn't have an argument other than "because I want it that way". Everyone has to pay the same price for their potions as you, you're not being treated unfairly in any way. You just completely seem to miss the point of interaction with other players. You want to be able to get everything for yourself, without paying others to do the work for you, yet you don't want to put in the work yourself. You have no point whatsoever. BTW I wasn't throwing insults, I was stating obvious facts, ones that you have already ignored previously, so I shouldn't be too surprised.
The legitimate way to get the potions you so desperately need is to buy them. There is no legitimate way to get them for free and without spending time to gather them, nor will there ever be.

All of my characters use food or drink, potions and poisons, all made by me without even having to buy the ingredients. As @Beamer_Miasma effectively states, you get nothing for free - you either put time into farming and leveling up skill lines or be prepared to pay gold.
If you only want to run content and are not prepared to farm for ingredients, the only choice you have is to pay what people want to charge for the potions. It is your choice to do this, nobody is making you buy them - not even ESO.
I'll repeat what I have said over and over again: If someone is selling something in a guild trader, they got it from somewhere, which means you can also get it. If you don't want to pay what they are asking, go and get it yourself.

200 potions lasts me a couple weeks in PvP. PvE the drain is a little more but you don't need to chug potions off cooldown for anything other than a score run which you wouldn't be doing regularly anyways.
I have +500 of all reagents, use potions on all 14 characters and I haven't bought a single reagent or actively farmed reagents outside of Tel var since One Tamriel.
It's a L2P issue.
disintegr8 wrote: »@Priyasekarssk - according to your theory I must be cheating. I don't know how, where when or why, but to be self sufficient in alchemy without buying stuff, I am obviously cheating. Please let me know how I am doing this so that I can stop before I get caught.
In my inventory now I have over 2000 Larkhams tears, over 1000 each of Bugloss, Columbine and Mountain Flower. Based on this alone I can make more than 4000 tri-stat potions - arguably one of the most sought after potions in history of the game. Does this mean I have cheated, or have been ripping people off?
All of my characters now use spell or weapon crit potions, made by me in batches of 150 to 200 at a time, yet I think nearly every ingredient in my craft bag has a supply of at least 400 items. Sure, some items are harder to find than others, but that is why we have so many ingredients which overlap in their uses.
I'll also correct you on a couple of points:
As you can get 4 potions out of 1 set of ingredients, the ingredients are not 'single use items'.
It is very rare that I come across a plant which only contains worms or crawlers, so either you 'farm' in a bad location, or are simply unlucky. (I also have several thousand worms and crawlers, because I empty every node I find).

I have been playing the game for two and a half years - plenty of time to collect thousands of ingredients without using any special skills (and I don't do IC, so do not buy anything with tel var stones).
Like everyone else in this game, if I run out of supplies for anything, I have to make a decision, sacrifice time or gold. Either I stop doing what I might prefer to do (PVP, dungeons, etc.) and put some time into farming, or keep doing what I want and buy stuff from traders. EVERYONE HAS THE SAME CHOICE, NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO DO ONE OR THE OTHER!!
You have your mind set and nothing is going to change it, really no point discussing any further.

Yeah. There's no point farming reagents tbh. Go to IC, it usually takes around an hour or so to get +5k Tel Var and that should net you around 50 of almost all reagents.Priyasekarssk wrote: »Priyasekarssk wrote: »Silver_Strider wrote: »Tel Var Alchemy Satchels are your friend.

You're new to the game and don't really understand how to optimize. When I started I thought potions were lack luster as well but they work perfectly fine.
1. I'm going to assume you zerg, in which case you don't need to pop potions on cooldown. Retreat to the middle (never the far back as you will get ganked) and heavy attack or just regen. If you don't use potions for resources you don't need Major X buff in a zerg tbh. Zerg damage comes from numbers
2. Potions are really meant for "oh [snip]" moments. The only exception being Trials, in which case yes, you may well burn +200 pots depending on how good your group is. I can finish Vet Maelstrom in an hour burning only around 30 potions as reference.
3. learn when to use what pots. 50% of the time you don't need a tri-pot/immovable etc, so trash pots work perfectly fine. If you're standing behind a zerg.
4. If you are in PvP, use the alliance draught pots. They are really cheap and are highly underrated, especially on characters with no/low investments into alchemy skill line
You just don't understand the purpose of potions. Some builds are meant to use potions on cooldown and that's fine. But even in PvP, that in no way requires you to pop a potion on cooldown for 2 hours straight. For large group play, actual player v player combat is maybe 20% of playtime. 30% is most likely siege and the other 50% if travel time/waiting for crown to make a call.
I almost exclusively play solo/small scale, and I drink tri pots almost on cooldown IN combat. A stack of 200 tri pots has lasted me a month on my main, although I have played significantly less lately due to life reasons and I do cycle through 14 characters. On average I consume maybe 20-30 pots for 1-2 hours of gameplay. I do mix in trash and alliance potions AND I know when a potion is necessary and when it is not.
And if you think I'm trash I win most 1v3s. I've uploaded some clips if you don't believe me and they are low quality ones as I'm new to video editing and don't want to "waste" a clip xD

It takes around 2-3 hours for farming alone if you are lucky ( I assume you are not using bots and manually go through nodes for nodes with all collection perks ) for alchemy alone, for 1 hour in cyrodil or veteran dungeons. After that you have farm again for hours or several thousands for gold , if you want to play effectively. Is alchemy intentionally made this way and ZOs no intention of fixing it ?
Lets take some modern games . Only few times , you have to go for farming to learn ingredients. After that it replenish while you mediate or just more resources from resource nodes. Every one loves that model. OR simply buff number of potions equivalent to potions. Its doesn't make any sense. Buff the up time. Or simply remove alchemy from game.
If anyone says there is no issue I seriously doubt the person is a cheater and using bots for farming alchemy and sell it guild store. Yes , there is issue and needs discussion. Sometimes is game breaking and working in favor of people who are cheating with bots.

Potions make very difference in PVP battles. PVP battles are very long and drawn out especially on max cp levels unless you die quickly or your opponent is a noob. Sieges are only for breaking walls and holding your position. People rarely die for siege unless they are noobs or in very tricky situation.
I have to check telvars are affordable than farming.
I would love if plant growing for your house were a thing
That would make up for the low rate of compo I get against what I use
It's not that bad but could use a boost

Alchemy can be hard at times, but when it comes down to farming reagents, I usually look in places that are not as populated during certain times (or usually when I feel like collecting random reagents for the long run) but one thing I can agree on, they should remake Laboratory Use.
Something along the lines of:
Laboratory Assistance III: allows the use of three reagents, an alchemical hireling will also find reagents for you.
A new delivery from your Alchemical hireling can be claimed the next time you login or change zones, provided it has been no less than 12 hours since the last bundle.
that could help most alchemists to some degree with locating certain hard-to-find reagents such as columbine, white caps, etc. not to mention it could decrease the alchemical bot farm population by a small amount for a fair bit.
(Just a word of warning about the gold coast & hews bane, the dark brotherhood/thieves guild celebration event will be on for a while which may cause slight spikes in bot activity in terms of resource gathering.)
