ZOS is looking at a lot more variables.

The fairly low percentage of characters with maxed inventory. The gold cost of maxing inventory. The opportunity cost of muling with a spare character instead of buying collectible storage space. Devaluation.

Sure, business would be brisk at first because it's a brand-new system. But then either price will remain the same and quantity demanded will decrease, or price will decrease and quantity supplied will increase. Neither are ideal for making gold off the system in the long run. Either fewer people are buying, or guild members are undercutting each other. At least by fixing the price at vendors, ZOS doesn't let their own system's value crash in a few months.

So I'm with them in not allowing storage collectibles for trade. The people who want them will earn them if they want them, and the requirements to obtain them will remain mostly unchanged from now until the game's last update. So they remain just as much a long-term goal as inventory upgrades in general have apparently remained.

then sell them fro gold at a vendor? the point here is forcing people into imperial city and pvp environment (yes, its pvp environment, as there is always a chance you get killed by another player) is not a good design. forcing people who don't like crafting into crafting? is NOT a good design. forcing people in above category into crown only purchases or going without the biggest advertised feature of the patch other then outfit designer (which is exclusionary in its own way, again forcing people to craft) - none of that is a good design.

you want to get gold out of the economy? you don't want players to be able to trade for these? THEN SELL THEM AT THE VENDOR THE WAY BAG SPACE AND BANK UPGRADES ARE. for GOLD. hell, make it 1gold+1 telvar, so small boxes will be 100k gold, large ones 200k gold.

    but make. it. available.

oh and btw? I bought and turned in enough crafting writs to have more then enough vouchers to complete my full collection of storage the moment it goes live. I plan on spending the rest of my vouchers on new furnishing recipes. so me personaly? I'm set. however, there is a plethora of guildies that I have that are NOT set. there are a LOT of players who are logging in daily, participating in game in various ways, often doing a LOT of group activities, filling in those spots in group finder, etc... even people who pvp. all the time. for whom now the choice is between participating in activity that they do NOT enjoy and up until this point were able to completely skip? buy storage with crowns? or they don't get to participate. this is NOT good. this kind of crap pushes people away! we want to keep people in, not push them out.

1.2 million tel var is nothing.

The most important thing is that I will have many new people to farm tel var from.

You willing to hand it over then?

Ok so lets see how hard this is and discuss how you can't buy these storage chests with gold.

    1) It is SUPER easy to level ALL crafting except maybe enchanting to 50. Easy. Super easy. Just decon everything you don't want to keep. I do it on every new toon I play and I have 50 in clothing/blacksmithing/woodworking within a week of hitting 50. Don't sell anything, decon it all. Even send a msg in zone you will buy all intricate items for 100-200 each and send COD to level it faster.

    2) Buy writs that give 50-100 vouchers. On PC-NA they sell for around 1000 per voucher - mats needed. I found a 55 voucher staff that needed nirnhoned which sell for around 15k. That writ is worth around 40k. So for 100k gold in writs you can have enough vouchers to make a small and 200k gold in writs you can get a large.

There ya go. Easy way to buy the storage chests.

BTW I can max provisioning AND alchemy for less then 50k in mats in less then 30 min. There are 2 guides on the forums that tell you how easily.

Anyone who thinks it takes a lot of work to raise your crafting skills in this game obviously have not even tried.

What about those new people you're robbing from?

Not really... A zerg of 10 PvE players hurts. It doesn't matter how good you are. They just hurt

I don't PvP because of how imbalanced it is. A decent to good PvP'er can wipe out 10-20 zerging PvE players pretty easy. Last time I was in IC I was with 8 other players. I was not geared for it but they were, 1 was a former emperor. They were good players. We ran into ONE player from AD who proceeded to wipe us until we just moved on. We were all attacking him at once and his health never dropped at all when I had him targeted. We never knocked him down or stunned him.

So no, a group of 10 PvE players will be farmed by any good PvP'er and when the new expansion drops you know it will be filled with people looking to farm PvE'ers.

But you don’t have to step into Imperial City at all do you. You can still buy storage chests with vouchers or crowns.

Yeah that's my point really. I hate PvP.

Anyone who has been playing the game for a month or 2 or longer really has no excuses as far as not being able to craft. This game does everything it can to get you to max your crafting and they make it very easy to do so.

Way too easy to earn vouchers WITHOUT having to be a master craftsman. Over the past month alone my non crafting alt has accumulated over a hundred vouchers from crafting simple 2-5 vouchers that were bought very cheaply from guild stores.

But by all means keep making excuses...

Edit- just a thought, what makes anyone think they would be sold cheaply for gold at vendors? If players are already balking at spending tens of thousands to upgrade their already available storage space I can only assume that these same people would be complaining about how expensive they are when they are being sold for $200k and up...

    This.

    1) It is so easy to get vouchers you just have to spend gold. As the above poster just stated, buy the cheap and easy 2-5 voucher writs which can be done by anyone. 200k or so spent on vouchers will get you enough for 1 box.

    2) You want to spend gold to buy storage boxes which people say should cost 100k for small and 200k for large...I would say double that honestly.

Those 2 points add up to TA DA - a storage box you just spent gold to buy!!!

I don't have a million tel var or a thousand writ vouchers, but that's fine. I'm not entitled to get all of the storage items on day one. I'll be able to get a few, then work for the rest over time. If you came to ESO expecting immediate and easy gratification, you're playing the wrong game.

Being that this thread is over a month old and basically is still on the third page I would suggest not many think these need to be tradable. Also, considering they will be for sale in the crown shop it seems this is an extreme long shot to begin with.

Also need to consider that the pts subforums are not as populated as the main general forums so results may vary. Either way its too late now as the patch is coming out in 2 days to change anything sadly

This one looks forward to selling the 60 or so master writs that he has accumulated since PTS. I expect to actually get good prices for them once again. I expect 3k per voucher min.
I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.
