Will you buy the Summerset Chapter if it doesn't come with a new class/spell crafting?

Spell-crafting would be nice to have (and I'm in the minority on here for sure when I say this) but I would make a spell for a creative build and not really care when someone tells me "that's not good for group content"

Totally with you on this. Majority of my crafted spells would be for flavor and filling out a character concept rather than what the current meta decided was BiS.

I'm going to buy it regardless, but because I'm poor I will wait for it to go on sale. I'm not holding my breath for a new class because I think one class a year is overdoing it, and spellcrafting is still potentially on the table but it needs to be done right and not rushed.

While I know there is a lot of debate over a new class, I would rather see new skill lines available to everyone regardless of class. Even if Necromancy is a skill line in and of it's self that might be fun, also a Psyjic / Mysticism skill line would be fun, so would a bard skill line.

However class is there to determine playstyle and theme. Sure I can use whatever gear I want but class abilites still largely determine playstyle. That's why they are there, to give direction.
Necromancy would fit Sorcerer but not Templar, Warden, or Dragon Knight

In this system, making every new magic skill available to everyone instead of creating a new class just doesn't work.
This is an ongoing discussion here.

    May not buy regardless.

The content that has been coming out, hasn't really wowed me. I never finished the Dark Brotherhood on either console, Clockwork City was overall a bore in a brutally uninteresting zone. Morrowind wasn't anywhere near what it was hyped to be, and the zone is misleading what with most of the North middle of the map just inaccessible. The storylines have felt bland, and it's not doing a fair job of keeping me invested in the game.

Group content is what it is and always will be. That gets old too. PvP is what it is, gets boring.
Might finally be getting bored with this game. Unless they come up with an angle that makes me go "oh man, I have to see what happens here!" I just can't keep justifying playing.

    • People bought housing with crowns even though it didn't come with storage
    • People continue to play PvP even though it lags so hard at primetime you can't even use skills.

So the answer to your question is yes. If ZOS raised Gear cap to CP180, and locked CP180 gear in summerset, and charged money to use emotes, people would complain but still buy it.

When your skooma dealer raises prices and cuts your skooma with troll snot, you complain but the addiction keeps you buying.

I feel like we're all expecting necromancer with summerset, however I've heard several players argue that it's too soon after warden to be getting a new class.
Personally, I feel like the only reason they got away with not including MW with ESO+ was the warden, cause as much as I love MW, it's pretty much Orsinium sized and not really better in terms of content.
I included spell crafting in this, cause even tho it ran into a dead end, i feel like an Altmer chapter is kind of the perfect place to implement it if they wanted to.

So will you buy the Summerset Chapter if it doesn't come with a new class/spell crafting?

WE are NOT all expecting a necromancer class. In fact few want it.

As to whether I would buy something before I know what it is...no. After I do, maybe.

WE ARE NOT EXPECTING NECROMANCY CLASS and neither the majority wants it.If you search about Necromancy class request in this forum , u will see it is the same people crying from time to time....A necromamcy skill line is another story.
I want more content rather than a new class and am majority wants that too.

Buy the DLC as it drops or when it goes on sale that way you are not solely dependent on Subscribing.

    1. I don't expect any class introduced into the game for a while.
    2. I am hoping that they don't dig up some race, just so they can add it to the game as bait for a chapter.
    3. Spell crafting needs to be done with a complete overhaul of the class skill system, and I am getting no hint that they are doing that. If they do release the spell system without doing that, it is just going to make things complicated.
    4. I think we already know that a new weapon skill line is coming, and that might be the thing for this chapter.

Vvardenfell is easily the best zone in the game, in my opinion, and that is why I bought Morrowind. I expect them to repeat that feat in this year's offering, whether it is Summerset Isle or somewhere else.

Not bothered by a class (didn't bother with warden), I'll buy it all the same.

Though having been stung by the Morrowind "chapter" I'll look to buy it as cheaply as possible.

Great idea demonstrating to Zos that Chapters will sell very well without adding a new class or something similar. Poll is certainly in their favor.

While I think Zos will include something of "added value" because they have set the expectation, you demonstrated their new model will work regardless.

    For a while.

ZoS knew that they couldn't lose with Morrowind - they could serve up anything and people would still buy it out of nostalgia. However, Vvardenfell didn't really sparkle. I'll give them another chance, but if they mess up again then I won't be buying chapters.

OK, enough of this "Morrowind should have been a subscription"
ESO operates like any other MMO if you pay subscription.
You get content updates (DLCs) and expansions (chapter)
It is an MMO. and on top of that one that does not require subscription, they have to make money somehow to support, continue, and expand.

After pre ordering Morrowind I was not unhappy but realise that I can wait a few months after release for any future similar "pay for" expansions and likely save a good amount of the cost.

After all I have been playing this game for over 2 years as sub, I have now 14 characters and have not yet finished all existing content on even 1 character. There is so much to do in this game :)

No. I bought Morrowind when it was on sale and the price was still too high. You didn't really get all that much and there are still issues with the base game.

World Bosses need to return to the good ol' days of being able to be solo'd.
There needs to be an in game guide to Lorebook locations like there are for skyshards
Zerg mentality in Cyrodiil. Truthfully, enough said. When stuff doesn't go your way, assist the other faction - 2 on 1.
AP gain in Cyrodiil for killing NPCs. Needs to be a thing.
Improved drop rate for hides and gold mats.
Decay timer on resource nodes that have been accessed and looted so that a fresh node may be spawned (ie: rune nodes with ta remaining).
A real reason to invest into hirelings. Lately, they don't bring any of the good mats. What gives?
