Will you buy the Summerset Chapter if it doesn't come with a new class/spell crafting?

I say yes because I will probably eventually buy it when it goes on sale, unlike what I did with Morrowind, I like the new class Morrowind offered but I really dislike Altmer, I doubt they will release a new class and if it's necromancer I really won't buy, I hate the 'evil' fad everyone is stuck on, we got enough evil elements in the game.

If it's Summerset with Necromancer, then I likely won't buy at all or maybe for like 5-10$. If it's a new land besides Summerset I'll probably buy on sale. But if it's something really interesting, regardless of the land, like a different class, new weapon type or skilline that's not necromancer or a new race that's not a elf or human, I'd buy/pre-order again.

Unless they fix Cyrodiil issues No. Better focus on what's there before releasing more and more paid-only DLC ignoring existing problems.

How can people have decisions made on the purchase of new DLC that hasn't even been confirmed let alone seen?

Because let's face it. People are gonna buy it no matter what for the sole fact that it is Summerset and people have wanted to go there for a long time.

I find the "don't release anything new, fix what you've got" approach quite amusing. Ever thought through what will happen if this game's content gets put on a hold for a half to a full year?

I'm not overly bothered by a new class, but assuming it had new content suited to me (not just PvP and group dungeons therefore) then I'd automatically get it on both my accounts.

I feel like we're all expecting necromancer with summerset, however I've heard several players argue that it's too soon after warden to be getting a new class.
Personally, I feel like the only reason they got away with not including MW with ESO+ was the warden, cause as much as I love MW, it's pretty much Orsinium sized and not really better in terms of content.
I included spell crafting in this, cause even tho it ran into a dead end, i feel like an Altmer chapter is kind of the perfect place to implement it if they wanted to.

So will you buy the Summerset Chapter if it doesn't come with a new class/spell crafting?

WE are NOT all expecting a necromancer class. In fact few want it.

As to whether I would buy something before I know what it is...no. After I do, maybe.

I don't need a new class to get Summerset, but I would like to create a 15th character for the new chapter.. so a new class to have them as would compliment the experience. Of course, if ZoS have no plans for a new class then it's not the end of the world, I think feelings on the Necromancer are divided anyway. People have also mentioned interest in a Bard Class.. I'd personally love to see what a mix looks like, Undead Bard! Spoopy Tunes!

I will buy Summerset (the next Chapter) if we at least get a pre-order extra offer similar to Morrowind, however, without a new class to use as a chunk of the features of the paid Chapter, ZoS would have to consider something of equal value to fill the gap... e.g some new weapon types?

A Zone similar in scale and quest/exploring time equal to Vvardenfell and some new battleground maps won't quite cut it if there's absolutely nothing else in the deal for me.

I'm currently on a break, probably for the next 1 or 2 years, but yes, I'd definitely buy Summerset if it came without a new class or spellcrafting. I think not enough time has passed to create a new class, it probably wouldn't work properly. If it'd be that necromancer nonsense I wouldn't play it anyway. And I absolutely do not care or want spellcrafting. I'd buy the chapter for the story and the new location.

I am not sure if i may have missunderstood Wrobel in the last ESO live, but i guess he "accidentally" let something slip: In´the second video on twitch, the longest one, on 16:43 they talk about swords that can't shoot arrows and he starts the sentence with "Although, with the new weapon line..." and gets shushed down pretty fast. I think that will be our new thing for Summerset.

I am on the fence with initial purchase new class or not.

For the price, Morrowind ended up being a bit of a disappointment. There really isn't much more than Orsinium there so, as a constant ESO Plus member, it had even less value. Adding PvP Battlegrounds - limiting PvP to only Morrowind owners, was also a mistake in my opinion.

In fairness, ZOS did try to move away from calling it an "expansion" but they failed at that because it carried a full expansion price tag. In the end, it was rather light on content for carrying a full expansion price tag.

So, will I pre-purchase Summerset. Maybe but only if one of the following apply.

1.) If the expansion is ONLY the Summerset isle, then I will if it is priced reasonable at maybe $20.

2.) If the expansion contains A LOT MORE CONTENT than was in Morrowind. I mean in an expansion there should be a little bit of everything - overland content, delves, public dungeons, instanced dungeons and trails. Also, one zone does NOT an expansion make. There should be a MINIMUM of THREE new full size zones in an "expansion". Honestly, consider Summerset and new AD zone. They should also have a new zone in DC and another in EP as well. That would then be an "expansion".

3.) Some new systems are added that substantially alter the current game play mechanics - and I do not mean just adjustments and tweeks to the current set up.

Other than that, I might just hold off and wait until there is a sale. I wanted Morrowind and pre-ordered, but after playing it a while realized there really wasn't much more than in Orsinium, which I get for free as an ESO Plus member.

I paid 14 Euro for Morrowind. I'll wait for a similar price for all chapters. 40 Euro base price was hilarious.

I'm not a fan of bundling content together to charge a higher price. I don't play PvP so new modes in it are worthless to me.

We need to clarify a few things here.......
Warden is not/ was not a NEW class...It was designed, coded, and programmed back in Alpha ESO. It was dropped in Beta and not included in Launch, but it was already made and not new. That is how ZoS could implement it in Morrowind.
To do a new class now would to be creating it from scratch, which I don't think they will do any time soon.

SpellCrafting is already Done!!... It is already made, and if you pay attention to the designer of it at his presentation 3 years ago, he states first thing..."It won't be hard at all to balance"....
My personal thought is they shelved it only because the Lead Designer that created it left ZoS. (Miss You Nick!!!!).

I will buy the new chapter just because I love this game as a whole. I have over 4 years in ESO, and have remained loyal through "Thick and Thin". Nothing short of "Dragon Mounts" will make me quit.. Lol..

This^^ It's either another "craft spell X or get kicked from group" meta *** or a complete and utter disappointment. Only way I see spell crafting ever get implemented is as visual/ audio costumisation only. But then again, everything with severe limits like that will get picked to death by the community.

There's plenty of room for spell crafting. There are many current skills that I'd love to use if they just came with a different elemental type, or as aoe version at the cost of damage, or perhaps longer dot version, which yet again would be at the cost of damage.

This can most definitely be made balanced if you provide all spells a budget of spell points to use when crafting it, then you have to prioritize and spend these points according to your playstyle/build.

This can by pure mathematics not be broken. If ZOS finds out that one spell crafting parameter is more powerful than the others for its spell point cost, well guess what, we make that parameter more expensive, and then ALL current and future crafted spells would be balanced around that new spell point cost.

This is actually a very easy system to balance.

I waited until it was on sale for half price before buying morrowind. If the expansion is half the intial price of morrowind i'll buy it.

If it does not come with significant extras and is just a new area and a few new trials and dungeons then there is little to differentiate it from a regular DLC such as Wrothgar/Orsinium in which case they should not be calling it a new "Chapter" and should definitely not be charging ESO plus members for it.

Hopefully they have learnt their lesson after the outrage last year and need to at least match Morrowind's content. If not I will not be buying it.

Hell yes. I bought Morrowind's Collector edition (not just for morrowind), but for all the stuff that came with it. Elder Scrolls is my favorite franchise, and (aside from buying crown store stuff, which I don't really do) I like to support ZOS. In MMO's I've never really cared about nerfs or buffs or w.e. bc I'm content with doing the storyline and all the quests, and just exploring the world. Spell-crafting would be nice to have (and I'm in the minority on here for sure when I say this) but I would make a spell for a creative build and not really care when someone tells me "that's not good for group content" bc I've never done a single piece of group content and I've been playing since the game dropped the P2P model. I'd love to do dgns and trials, but not for anything besides the storylines.

The fixation is because it was something they were literally already working on, years ago... we got to see pictures of it and everything then the guy that was working on it left ZoS. Then we were told it was on the back burner. So you see Mr New Guy, we were given a glimpse of something that looked AMAZING from this company and then had it taken away before it got implemented.

As for OP, idk it would have to be pretty freakin amazing.
