Yes. With a note which character acquired that.

That would be great. I have never argued against a character achievement window. I just strongly believe that there should also be an account wide tab to show the total progress for the account. I have always been an achievement hunter in games, but in ESO, I threw in the towel long ago.
My crafter is not my PVPer is not my 4man DPS is not my trial DPS is not my quester, etc. The current system discourges me from doing things like going after master angler for example. What toon would I do it on? Sure as hell ain’t doing it twice. It also makes it seem pretty pointless to hunt for some of the other more obscure achievements. If we had an account wide tab, I would be after them all!
I always get bummed when people talk about achievement points. I have done a lot, but it’s spread across so many toons that no individual number is that impressive.
The numbers!
They show how many achievement points we've earned from every category, and their overall amount (it will be 30,645 next patch)
I think it's a great idea for achievement hunters like me, it helps a lot with tracking which achievements I'm currently missing
Here's screenshot from my template character journal:
Would be awesome if we could also have percentage amount next to numbers - for example:
"Crafting 1,145/2,695 (42,4%)"

Yeah, but on the other hand, if you have an achievement that you enjoy, you can start it over again on a different character.
I've completed Treasure Hunter (loot 1000 chests) on 3 characters and my 4th is well on her way. I also have General Executioner on 4 characters, and I'm almost done with I Like M'aiq on my 2nd and 3rd.
So for people like me, if they make a "Global" tab for achievements, then some of them, like opening chests, killing monsters of a specific type, etc, would need to be multiplied in the global tab to make any sort of sense.

There's an addon, that does similar thing:

But yeah, people with many characters could be happy with that kind of feature. I personally don't care about this much, because I play only one character.

Agree. Getting all achievements account wide is something I can possible aspire to one day, but on each one of my characters with all their different specializations, unlikely

You might be missing what I am saying. Leave the individual character achievement tabs EXACTLY how they are. That way if you want to go after an achievement multiple times, you can knock yourself out. I certainly wouldnt want to take that away from anyone. I would like an additional tab that combines them all. No need to change limits or anything. Once you get the achievement, it goes to both that specific character tab and on the first time to the account tab.
The only sticky spots I would see would be for cummultive style achievements, "Slay a million mudcrabs" for example, or achievements that require completing multiple lessor achievements. As for as I am concerned, if there is an achievement to kill X number of whatever, you should be able to make progress on it on multiple characters for the account section, but the individual sections would require that character to do it. Same with the other type. As long as you get all the sub-achievements done, you would get credit for the main achievement on the account wide tab. You could also have issues with certain titles I suppose. I would probably want to keep titles character bound, but frankly, since dyes and skins are account wide, I dont really think it would matter if they were account wide.
Pretty sure we could find a happy balance so that Altoholics like myself can get a snap shot of their account, and players like you that like doing achieves on multiple toons can repeat them to their hearts desire.

I get what you are saying and your sticky point is the part that I was actually talking about. If you want to make the global tab activate when one of your characters completes a specific achievement, then that would be fine.
But if you want it to work in such a way that any character that kills a mudcrab counts towards the "300 chitinous creatures" achievement, then 300 is too few and would trivialize the achievement to nothingness. So if it did count globally, then I think adjustments to quantity should be made. But if the achievement has to be completed by one character in order to show up on the global tab, then I think it would be fine as is.
Does that make sense?
