Faustina Curio, the Achievement Mediator carries the old Gold Designs?!?! FOR LESS?!?!?!?!

So the new chick at Rolis...has the old gold designs that he stops carrying....for LESS WRITS? How is that making any sense at all? Is it simply because you need an achievement to buy them?

Still should be at least the same amount, if not more. Otherwise, why even bother?

I think the idea is supply and demand. Buy the designs when they first come out, and they cost more, but fewer people will have them so you can sell the resulting furniture for more. And when they've been switched out after six months more people will have gotten them by then.

Well, that seems a crap decision to me, as one of the perks of Rolis discontinuing a design is, its value went up after it was gone from his stocks...now, the value will go down, considerably.

    Bad idea.

They could have kept the same cost as before (125 vouchers), but it was NOT a bad idea to return these recipes. Removing recipes for cosmetic items from the game, solely so that some people can rake in huge profits from selling recipes or items no longer available is a BAD idea.

When recipes are constantly available, it's fair for everyone to buy them and make their own stuff, and those who do not want to participate in the crafting aspect of the game can still buy the items off of someone else. As it should be.

Literally the only ones hurt by this are those who have hoarded a large amount of these recipes and try to sell them off for huge profits, and the only thing I can say to that is pffffffffffff.

something I haven't tested (and maybe I should). do you need an achievement to learn them? or only to buy them?

They're tied to an achievement, that's why.

ok, so hopped into pts, to test. they are not bop and they do not require achievement to learn. however, the achievement they require to buy is nothing to sneeze at. you have to have turned in 100 master writs to be able to buy them from a new vendor. I think.. that's fair exchange for slightly reduced voucher cost.

I do think that's fair for the short term, but once crafters get that achievement, they'll be able to buy the recipes for less. I guess if ZOS aren't planning to return all of the old recipes, then it's better to buy on Rolis rather than wait to see if they show up on Faustina at a reduced cost.

So, definitely a steep point of entry, but once in, they're cheaper. Plus, after 100 writ turn-ins, you should have quite a few vouchers to spend on cheaper recipes.

I'm glad that the old recipes are returning (esp. for those that missed them), but kinda miffed (only slightly) that they're cheaper. Just another perk/advantage for new players that this update is filled with. That said, I think I might actually pick up the Orc ones I passed on earlier, if the cheaper price is cheap enough.

To be honest, this is more about ZoS, and their consistent INCONSISTENCY,

Yeah I'm a little put off by the fact that they cost less now. That kind of incentivizes putting everything off, since most achievements are easy to come by anyway.

Is the goal to give more players access to Morrowind furnishing plans ... or is the goal to keep @Avidspark’s pockets full?

Considering the number of forum threads about this issue, I’m going with choice #1.

But, most players will adapt to the change. New content offers new opportunities for sales ...

Funnily enough, within a day after the PTS was up, guild traders were flooded with the old gold recipes for modest prices. I'm guessing quite a few people had hoarded them before they vanished, in hopes of a fat profit. Well that ain't gonna happen no more.

The old gold recipes have been reduced from 125 writ vouchers each to 100 writ vouchers each?

Eh. That's not much of a difference. 80% of the original price. I'm okay with it. Especially if you need to have done 100 Master Writs in order to purchase from Faustina at all. It will help some players catch up.

This is a good thing. It's a catch-up mechanism. Same reason why CP becomes cheaper to earn each time the cap increases and why there's a huge cost penalty for people above the cap.

Stop looking at it from your own selfish perspective.

Newer players coming into the game are faced with a monumental task of catching up. Old things should be cheaper, not more expensive. The kind of obscene profiteering that people do with discontinued plans is not good for the health of the game, and I say good riddance to that.
