This is my favorite thread on these boards!

@Izaki I just want to be clear on the sets you use, as I've got a mule character carrying pieces of at least 6 different stamblade sets. :) I'm trying to figure out which to use.

    Dummy parse:
    VO (Front bar only)
    TFS (always)
    Kraghs

    Raids:
    Hundings (front bar only)
    VO (Always)
    Velidreth

With another stam DPS wearing NMG or Sunderflame in raids. Is that correct?

I can't run your dummy parse set yet as I can't run VO as a front bar set (no daggers) but I can run the reverse (TFS as front bar, VO as main). But I don't really need to since you did the dummy work for me :)

In raids, I'm running VO as main and Hundings or NMG as front bar. Is that optimal?

So for dummies its like you say, VO or War Machine on front bar only and TFS always active and I actually use Selene or Velidreth now instead of Kra'gh now, since its less "cheese" and I get literally the exact same results.

For raids... It depends. If you've got NMG and Sunderflame covered, then you run VO or War Machine on front bar only and Hunding's always active. Or you can run VO or WM on both bars and then run Briarheart on the front bar only. Never use Hunding's on front bar unless you've got no other options.

Frankly, its basically a waste to run a Stamblade without War Machine in raids, so you should really focus on getting that done :)

Sounds like mag sorcs are not uber anymore. This calls for nerf.

Mag sorcs are one of the worst classes in the game now friend.

    Both PvE and PvP

Not exactly true for PvE. Without Sorcs, you've got no Alkosh since the uptime on that highly relies on the synergy from Liquid Lightning as well as Shards and Orbs. You ose the Sorcs, you lose the Alkosh. You lose the Sorcs and you lose a huge chunk of Concussion uptime and therefore, Off-balance uptime. Sorcs are also the highest AoE DPS class in the game at the moment. I'd say, keeping all that in mind, that Sorcs are a great support class for raids while still having great single target DPS. They are crucial in every raid group.

In PvP, I still think that with Rune Prison this class is even more deadly than before.

You know well how it works.
We'll get back into 2015, where you kick every sorc and just keep the barely necessary (1 with charged weapon or 2 without) to apply concussion.

Oh, well, I've quit for 2 years because of that in the past, I'll quit another 2 years again.

Its necessary to have at least 2 Sorcs in the group for good uptimes on Alkosh, Off-Balance and Concussion. That's already 3 reasons why Sorcs are necessary in raids. And obviously the massive AoE DPS. Compare that to Stamblades whose only reason to be in a raid is War Machine and even that can be used on other classes slightly less effectively. I'd say Sorcs are in a good spot right now. But I personally think all magicka classes need buffs because stamina is a tad too strong at the moment.

Don't go quitting like that! ;)

What is the Sunderflame setup btw? I’ve been lazy and just going 5 VO 5 spriggans 2 kraghs for ever now and the highest on hit on the 3 mil is 40k DPS. If I get a VO necklace I could go 5 VO 5 Hundings. In the meantime, am I missing out going with what I have verse the Sunderflame setup? Or should I just keep trucking along as I am with the VO/spriggans setup and stop being lazy and go get that VO necklace?

I don't think stamblades are a good class to use Sunderflame with since they shouldn't be heavy attacking as much as other classes.

Managed to (finally) get War Machine weapons. Haven't retraited the axe yet so currently running Infused + Precise, which isn't ideal, but still managed to hit 65k in my first raid parse with War Machine + Vicious Ophidian + Velidreth. So even if it's not ideal it's still really strong and a significant group buff. Exciting!

Hopefully this week I'll get a chance to test my Khajiit as a vampire with Stormfist and War Machine + Hunding's.

Just out of curiosity. What makes the difference for the killers blade damage.

I can get only like 39-40k hits with the same buffs like you have. My highest dps score has been 36k with the same skills u are using on your rotation. I know my rotation sucks and that explains alot of the dps loss compared to your results but I dont know why I cannot hit those 50k execute hits.

    My setup:

    Bosmer
    17,4k health 30,6k stamina
5x two fanged and 5x vo all legendary and 2x krag. All medium and divines. Nirn and Infused on weapons, weapon damage glyph on the infused and poison damage on the nirn. Maelstrom Nirn box on backbar with poisons.

Is it because of my race and 30k stamina? I have 10 points on health and health glyph on helmet because I need the 17k health.

Hmm, yeah it looks to me like the loss of stamina is playing a pretty big role. I have about 7k more Stamina than you do, so that's (VERY) roughly 700 weapon damage. CP would also be a pretty big difference, I'm sure I've detailed my CP already in this thread if you can find it :P

May I ask why you need the points into health and the health enchant? My guess is that you're using Dubious Camoran Throne drink... If you are, stop right there! You don't need it! Heavy attacking more would give you more overall DPS with comparable sustain and you will be hitting harder in general. Just use the blue food. If you're having trouble with sustain in raids, you could use a recovery glyph which is a lesser detriment to your DPS than Dubious. I actually use a recovery glyph on all fights where you need to block or break free a lot (the Mage, Stone Breaker, etc.).

    Hope this helps!

Hey! You can find it in any Stamblade guide out there (FearTurbo, ProNDC, Alcast, Gilliam, etc.). I'm not using anything revolutionary at all, especially back when I did these parses. The only thing that really matters is the rotation, but its not unique either...

That being said, I do have a new rotation that is kind of loosly based on the Magblade rotation. I'll post a parse once I get a few good ones, because I myself am pretty far from mastering this one. The cool thing about this one is that you get 3 bow procs every 2nd cast of Relentless Focus, so that's an extra bow proc every 40 seconds.

I MIGHT (big emphasis on the "MIGHT") write up a full guide for how I play my Stamblade in PvE. But then again, I'm not sure, since I have still a lot to learn about this class. The fact that I'm playing on PC now and that I have to farm gear, achievements and stuff also takes up quite a lot of my playing time which means that aside from that and raids, I don't have much time to test and come up with new things.

^ Exactly this. Thanks to Leeching Strikes, you don't have to HA as often as the other classes and you have so much stuff going on in the rotation that you simply don't have time for it either.

This really show ecatly that ZOS fails in balancing..

But gj, i am sure you can hold 45k DPS or more on the 6kk dummie.
Other classes need to play with 4 arms and 20fingers to hit 35k DPS there..isnt funny at all..

The difference between stamina and magicka DPS is too high again too. Damageoutput for magickaplayer is too low... they have too less buffs to reach that high numbers..

Buff after buff? Are we playing the same game lol? Are you new? Because NB was bottom of the barrel since forever. It’s nice NB can actually do something now.

Not to mention this is a self buffed parse on a 3 mil dummy isn’t a good snapshot. Give other classes like a sorc or DK those buffs (since they will have them in a raid) and put them on a robust or higher dummy they will hit better DPS or be on par. You’re way off base here.

Yeah nightblade was buffed since around 1 year like hell. True give other classes this buffs, they could maybe touch same DPS, BUT they dont have this buffs. In PvE they are very strong in doing damage and especially in PvP the strongest player i know are nightblades only!
When you read the last really buff for DKs or Templar in same way on patch notes?
For templar i remeber it was update 1.6., but after directly 2 weeks they got nerfed again...

Just read the *** post I tagged you in earlier in this thread, its got everything that you need to know about Stamblades and other classes in PvE.

The only buff nightblades got was Relentless Focus and Merciless Resolve by the way, nothing else changed. In fact, just this patch, Mass Hysteria was nerfed.

The OP said with next update. There is a buff for nightblades... this doent matter for you or you just ignore that fact?!

I dont want to troll.. Teso was never balanced well, but atm the difference is growing bigger and bigger..

What will happen with next update? At the moment, on the live server, Stamblades can already hit 49.5k+ with War Machine and about 48.5k without (those are my numbers anyway and I don't have perfect traits on WM). The buff next patch to Nightblades? Where is that buff to Nightblades you are talking about?

And read what I wrote, I didn't spent 10 minutes of my time demonstrating how Stamblades aren't OP for nothing. If you want I'll tag you there again.

Holy h*ll. That's nice. I wanted to bring my stamblade to more serious PVE content for a while now, I'm too stupid to really see your rotation here. Roughly, how do you do these? I'm not much of a PVE guy, so my "rotation discipline" is quite limited. ;-)

    Anyway, really impressive.
