Please sell the storage collectibles in the form of tradeable Runeboxes.

Right now, they are sold in the same manner as horses--when you buy a particular storage collectible, it is immediately added to your account and you are unable to buy another of the same type.

So why is this a problem? Because up until this point, everything that you can purchase with writ vouchers and Tel-Var stones are tradeable. This is a sharp departure from the expected norm, with some important implications:
    • People who play multiple accounts and people who play together and have a "division of labor" will be impacted. For example, I know couples who consolidate and do their master writs on one player's account, and then that player will buy whatever is needed from the vendor for both. For people with two or more accounts, it's pretty standard for their "main" account to do master writs and buy for the alt account whatever is needed from the vendor.
    • Players who do many Master Writs will have no reason to continue buying storage containers once they've collected all eight. Normally, players will spend excess Master Writs buying items that they can then sell to other players, but this is not an option for storage containers and negatively impacts economic trade.
    • Players who farm Tel-Var in IC usually turn to selling Tel-Var goods on the market. Not being able to sell these containers will make the addition of these items to the vendor less effective at attracting IC interest.

Please, please, please make these items tradeable!

PS: This model of purchase isn't a problem with horses because horses are bought with a currency that is tradeable. However, neither writ vouchers nor Tel-Var stones are tradeable.

Everything said here is completely correct. Please make them tradeable in runeboxes. As an Tel var gather I would allso like to see more activity in the imperial city and nothing works better than the promice of riches. It allso helps us to easier support newer players with tradeable stuff. Please make them runeboxes

The large containers are 200 vouchers, small ones 100 vouchers, iirc.

I don't know tel var costs.

    • Was it clear how to use these new furnishings? Yes
    • Do you believe you’ll benefit from using these? YES! 100 times YES!
    • Do the chests and coffers stand out sufficiently from other furnishings to be distinct? Yes I love the models for both types
    • Do you have any other general feedback? Yes (see below)

    General Feedback:
    1. The storage chests NEED to be available in runeboxes. There are a lot of people who don't do Master Writs (that is lot of crafting mastery needed) and Tel Var are in a DLC. It would be nice for players to be able to use their crafting mastery or love of IC to buy runeboxes and sell to other players who don't
    2. It would be nicer if the Storage was its own Furniture Category (we have so many lovely collectibles we want to display) or raise the collectibles category...
    3. The ability to change the main colour of the chest/coffer would be neat to visually distinguish them.

    Crowns too.

Edit to add: There's two (of the possible 8) available on PTS right now for 1 crown each, so retail price is unknown.

Do these boxes work like a bank for crafting? For example, if I need 20 Rubedo Leather to craft an armor, but I don't have it in my inventory, but I have it in my storage chest, will I be able to craft the item, or do I need to go home and get the materials?

If this is not how it works, it should, it will be a really good QoL and doesn't sound as complicated to implement since the bank already works that way.

It will take me about 2-3 days to download the PTS so I can't really test it right now, sorry for that.

Was it clear how to use these new furnishings?

Yes. Initially I went to the usual Mastercraft Mediator and didn't even realize there was a new one standing beside him, so I was confused when I didn't see the items in the list. I was also surprised they became a collectible.

Do you believe you’ll benefit from using these?

YES YES YES YES. I haven't been this excited about an update for a long time.

Do the chests and coffers stand out sufficiently from other furnishings to be distinct?

Yes, they have a nice look and are so far unlike any other furnishings I have seen.

Do you have any other general feedback?

I do agree with the first poster that it would be preferable to have them as runeboxes. A lot of people don't PvP but also are not much into crafting, which leaves them without the option of purchasing them in-game. Other writ voucher and tel var items are tradeable so I'm not sure why these should be any different.

Other than that, I am very happy with these!!

As a crafter with a couple of thousand vouchers - finally be nice to spend them on something useful. Hopefully they will stay that price when this goes live. I'll finally be able to free up some of my 480 bank slots

Can't see why they cannot be a trade item like crafting stations and other stuff you buy with vouchers - can only guess it is to push people towards the Crown Store.

it doesn't work like that. items in the chest can only be accessed via the chest (but you can plant the chest in multiple homes and that type of chest will hold the same things in each home).

This is the official feedback thread for the home storage furnishings. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
    • Was it clear how to use these new furnishings?

Yep, placed them just fine. Sucks about that low item limit on collectables though, now 8 less slots for trophies because these will sure outweigh any of those in my priorities.

    • Do you believe you’ll benefit from using these?

Naw, ESO doesn't have an inventory problem at all (sarcastic tone.) Of course we will benefit from more storage. We have to hoard all possible item sets in case Wrobel decides we need to change a BIS set into garbage or a garbage set to BIS. We also have to horde un-cracked transmute geodes now since they do not stack and there is a low storage limit on them. Thanks for that by the way. I now have like 60 transmute geodes soaking up inventory room across my toons.
    • Do the chests and coffers stand out sufficiently from other furnishings to be distinct?

I think I speak for most folks when I say that I didn't want them to stick out. I wanted them to be little rectangular tiles or balls that I could hide inside of my existing chests / wardrobes / etc so that I could walk up to those and use them as if they were storage containers. I do like that you can rename the containers though. Very helpful.
    • Do you have any other general feedback?

    1) I was happy when I saw the prices. No 1,250 voucher garbage.
    2) I was actually hoping for more storage because... I already talked about why.
    3) Being able to access all the storage in every house is really slick. Good on you for that one.

I am currently worried for the future of ESO. Population seems like it is in free fall and the cancellation of the North America in-person gathering feels very much like pulling the plug. Kudos on fixing the in-game economy though. Clearly whatever gold shenanigans were happening the last couple years are fixed.

    adding my voice to

    1. they need to be tradable runeboxes.

    and

    2. either collectible limits need to be increased or they need to have a separate collectible category that is 8 for ALL houses.you said on live that you will be able to place them all.. but apparently you meant only in larger homes or not at the same time, becasue collectible limit in inn room for example is 2. not to mention that they share limits with other collectibles, which adds even more limits to decorating.

This was my most anticipated feature of this patch and I have to say that I'm actually rather disappointed. I have 10 mules that are bursting at the seams with collected gear over the last couple of years and was hoping to recover some of the them to be able to play as actual characters. As such, the benefit is rather minuscule. Adding a total of 360 inventory slots when I'm already close to maxing out the maximum 3280 slots I have seems quite limited. At the very least, can we not get a double bonus with ESO+ similar to our bank storage?

I would have expected them to be bought from the voucher merchant, not the new assistant. That just seemed weird.

They chest & coffer designs are indeed quite different from existing furnishings, but they lack any individuality to differ from each other. I can see getting confused as to what stuff is in each chest.

My biggest issue really lies in the price. We've spent untold amount of crowns and/or gold to acquire our housing. 1200 vouchers or 1.2 million tel var to complete a set of 8 is imho quite ridiculous for the amount of storage we are getting in return. We're paying 3 1/3 vouchers per item slot. I'd probably be more ok paying that if the container held more, but the ROI at this point seems minute.

My other key issue lays with the maximum amount of collectables that can be placed in our housing. Gardner House, for example, will not be able to display a complete set of undaunted trophies and be able to have 8 storage collectables due to the limitation. Smaller houses are even worse off.

I also agree with the lack of runebox. I cannot acquire these and transfer them to a guild account for use in a guild hall the way they are purchased atm. The guild account has no method of obtaining them now other than crowns.

About runeboxes i agree with others. (atleast not all few of them)

My question is: Can other players (my home quests) see what inside the chests and coffers (not to take just to look)?
If not is it possable to make this way?
1st - I would like people to see my treasures. Like purple stolen (cleaned) items that i collected
2nd - It would be nice for some homes events. Like i sometimes make treasure hunt event on my island and i would LOVE to let people see what they found.

As it stands, you have to get all 8 storage chests and coffers, you need either 1200 vouchers or 1.2 million Telvar! Since they are not tradable, you have to do it yourself.

The problem is writs are rare as it is, and you need to be maxed out on all research and motifs to do the bigger writs. This really restricts this only to players who have put months of work and gold into their crafters. The fix for this is to put the storage chests and coffers into Runeboxes, which will make them tradable. This will make storage chests more available to the general population and while also creating a small economy around these.

    Here is the cost breakdown.
Chests (60 capacity) and cost 200 vouchers or 200,000 Tel Var (800 vouchers or 800K Telvar for all 4)
Coffers (30 capacity) cost 100 vouchers or 100,000 Tel Var (400 vouchers or 400K Telvar for all 4)

While the new storage for houses is ok I am disappointed at the same time. You have no option to set the containers to let others access the chest. One would hope that you would be able to do this in your own house but no, it is personal only. What of guilds or husband/wife ect that would like to be able just drop items off in the box? Before you say that guilds have banks I know this and honestly it makes no difference. These items do not show up in the bank just in the boxes at the houses.

How about you add the option of a single co-owner for a house with the ability to do everything the owner can save expel the owner? Or better yet set a full range of options that the house owner can select to as what the invited folks can do in their house because honestly they way it is now is just garbage.

Well this answered my question I guess. I too am disappointed that I can not allow custom access to my home storage. This would be almost as good as having guild banking in my house. Just give me one of those two things please.

Was it clear how to use these new furnishings?

Yeah, it was pretty intuitive. I bought the first two from the crown store and placed them using the template character I had created. Then I went looking for the containers at the writ vendor, and found those pretty easily on the assistant (who I was looking forward to meeting after reading the patch notes; wanted to see what previously available gold furniture patterns were available on her). The containers I purchased were easy to place in my home, and easy to rename. I would have liked if they looked a bit more different from each other, but I separated them in different spots in my house to remember what I put where.

It was also really, really satisfying to fill them with gold maelstrom weapons (since I was using a template character, I didn't have my usual crap to throw in to test if they handled being full to capacity).

We'll see how withdraw of items on a different character goes when I sign in and test that later.

Do you believe you’ll benefit from using these?

There is a running joke in my guild about how I hoard all of the things. All of them. I even bought a second account to hold more things. Yes. This will be a benefit. That being said, it would be nice to be able to select if other people could access the container. I would love to be able to put stuff for my second account into a container for me to retrieve later when I am on that account. Or a way to put research items available to my guildies (I make them for my guildies for free) where I don't have to be online for them to get them. Our guild bank is always full, so putting research items in there isn't really an option, especially since not all guildies have access to withdraw from our bank.

Also, I imagine we're going to want to put a few of these in our guild hall to hold onto items for raffles, prizes and such. Having it so that only our guild leader can access the storage in the guild hall (which is his primary residence, since official guild halls are not a thing (yet?)) means that we either have to be super organized and make sure that the event runner has the items given to them when the guild leader is online, or those items might stay locked in a chest. Which kind of makes them pointless to use in a guild hall.

Do the chests and coffers stand out sufficiently from other furnishings to be distinct?

Yeah, they stand out enough. They look similar to other chests in the game that are furnishing,. They fit in with my decor.

Do you have any other general feedback?

I'm going to have to agree that these should be rune boxes. One of the things I like about this game is that you can play it as much or as little as you want, and still be able to access a lot of the features and pretty things. Having the storage boxes locked behind either having a master crafter (which takes a while to level up) or a DLC is pretty limiting. I personally try to avoid crown store purchases for things I can get in-game (you get plenty of my money by releasing new mounts and costumes!). The argument could be made that the people looking for lots of storage are those who already have a time investment in this game, but that's a pretty weak argument. Everyone wants more space to store their shiny things.

Was it clear how to use these new furnishings?
Yes. The tooltips and general information is sufficient.

Do you believe you’ll benefit from using these?
Yes. I'm already stocking more writ vouchers so I could purchase all containers when they become available.

Do the chests and coffers stand out sufficiently from other furnishings to be distinct?
I suggest adding gold color and some diamonds to the containers to make them even more unique!

Do you have any other general feedback?
Yes. I hope that containers purchased through the crown store will be priced high enough so it won't be P2W(maybe 10,000 crowns per large container and 5,000 crowns per small container).
For example, the price for a large container is 200 vouchers, that's equivalent to 100k-150k gold investment in PC Europe server.
People will work hard to get Tel Var stones or writ vouchers, so I believe it will be unfair to let players to buy containers through the crown store, unless the container's price in the crown store is very high.
In my opinion the containers shouldn't become available in the crown store to begin with, but I know that 99.9999999% that they will become available so at least it will be good if they will be priced right in the crown store, so people won't opt to the "easy/P2W" crown store option immediately :)
I do consider the act of buying storage through the crown store a small degree of P2W, please don't bother to suggest otherwise.
This is not just a convenience feature.
Housing Storage is extremely useful and permanent option and not some training dummy/mundus stone.
