expand ignore list ?

Really, there is no point in having limit of 100 names in ignore list. Ran out of people that waste time, act like ignorant *** (those being usually low lvl in random / vet dungs), just hard spammers, etc etc along ago

If they are 1 time occurrences from random groups, do you really need to put them on ignore?

If you need more than 100 slots, you must have a very low tolerance! I've been playing 3 years and have no one on ignore.

Yes, i value my time over anything else, so if i see someone being total "not good" in chat, dungeon, other place - i insta ban him, same irl - i don't speak with people i don't like. Some people prefer to "endure", it's also ok.

I filled my ignorelist quickly with hatewisperes and zone-flamers. than i found out about the wonders of "Offlinemode" and deactivate /zone in chatwindow.

Edit: I think 100 slots would be more than enough, if it had a "last seen online" tag.

Turn off zone chat. If someone is ignorant in a dungeon, ignore them without putting them on 'ignore'. When the dungeon is finished, you don't have to deal with them anymore, anyway. I, also, don't speak to people that I don't like irl or in chat, but I don't feel a need to put them on 'ignore' because they are just random people who I will probably never hear from again.

I agree. I've cleared my ignore list before, only to recognize names as the same disgusting morons have the same disgusting conversations and need to be blocked again. Turning off zone chat is just going to hide the stuff I want to see. And I don't need to have to expose my eyeballs to the juvenile/racist/nasty/vulgar/edgy/whatever some dipcrap is indulging in with five or six other people. It's the group conversations that eat up ignore list space, and they do it over and over, so they need to stay ignored. Not everyone has a high tolerance for conversations about toilet functions or gross overt sexual speculation or racist BS or bashing whatever group someone wants to start crap with. Some of us are here to play a game, not have to tolerate people we can't reach out and slap upside the head.

Not enough pvpers here seems. I remember when i didnt ignored to see what happen - dude was spamming me non-stop insults for entire 30 minutes just because I wiped his group. I doubt you would simply 'not respond' on such level of human degradation.

After almost a year of playing (literally only 3 days short of the year deadline) I never had to put anyone on my ignore list, because everyone that irked me, was soon gone and I never saw them again. Trust me there was plenty that was annoying, selfish little jerks you just wanna slap with a werewolf paw, but then they're gone, never to be seen again (good riddance)

I agree, and I think that friends list should be expanded, too.
As for the reasons to "ignore" people... Well, like the others have said, there are people who overreact over pvp, spammers etc. Also, there are inappropriate names. Yes, if theyre in English (or any other language that is officially supported) they will be forced to rename those chars. But my native language is not officially supported, and I dont wanna see names like "Wh*re hunter" in zone chat. Lol. And I dont wanna see people who make sexist and racist remarks, too.

Do those that overreact over PVP really come back that often? I kinda doubt it, unless you're farming that person, then they have every right to be upset.

I feel this isn't needed in ESO. Back when I played Neverwinter, I had 30% of server population in ignore (unlimited slots). After 5k+ hours in ESO , I only put about 20 on ignore. Th3 community seems to be more calm and mature here.

On the other side my friend list is stuffed with 100/100 for months, with 80% online within the last week. I cant handle this anymore and hope they raises/remove this cap. Friends are better than haters anyway.

I keep people in the ignore list only for some time. I don't see any reason to keep them there forever. I mean, 100 accounts to block is more than enough if you are not psychologically unstable person and clears the list once in a while.

@Grabmoore Sooo true about Neverwinter. Used to be part of the competitive PvP community there. If there is a more toxic place than that, it's probably somewhere in the dark net.

I play ESO since it came out and only got 1 person on ignore.

There is no reason I can think of to limit it to 100. Many people will never fill that list and that's good for them. Having the limit at 500 or 1000 doesn't affect them at all, but will improve the quality of life for those that want a larger ignore list so why not?

I was a GM here for nearly 3 years and after receiving hate whispers and threats from ex members for a variety of reasons, I adopted a policy of putting former members on ignore if they left on bad terms so I didn't have to deal with the drama. That list can fill up quickly when you factor in many other reasons for ignoring as well.

Yes please, more ignore slots would be fabulous. (Since we can't see who's quit the game and safe to remove from the list.)

Mute List is an add-on to "mute" people in chat, but it doesn't block mail or prevent you from getting randomly grouped with the person via dungeon finger like the actual block list.

Problem about having chat not on is you might not see certain things to consider, too many things tbh to list. Not having chat on to me is worse than having 100 people blocked. You short change yourself but at the same time exempt yourself from a far majority of things (good and bad). So what is being missed is both known by you and not.

i have a max ignore list and keep a waiting list of players to add to it, pvp is toxic and the number of players who send you threats for killing them and leading a guild is through the roof. Reporting said players just adds them to your ignore list now or nothing if its full so why not make it limitless? you go free to play you better expect an army of kiddies who will say anything as if they have no filter in tells party and zone

I haven't reached 100 people cap yet after two years, but I totally agree. After seeing this thread, I actually counted - I have 68 people on ignore list so far :) Most of them are not even from personal discussions - I simply saw how they treat people in zone and guilds, and decided I never want to deal with such players myself or have even slight chance of helping them somehow.

Makes me think, we need better visual representation of ignored players. For now it's simple "is ignored" text added after character name and username. This text needs to be red or something...

    http://www.esoui.com/downloads/info1061-MutePlayer.html#info

This addon at least can help a bit if your ignore list is full.
