Why are you locking an event behind forced grouping?

Guess what? MMO doesn't mean forced grouping, it just means other people are in the same world as you. Also, again, most players in ESO solo.

He really doesn't. There's no hard evidence that most players solo, its just his opinion. A biased opinion at that.
He does have a point, but it's lost any credibility due to his bias.

The Credibility can come from supporting evidence to his claim, mainly other parties that agree with his claim. Like myself. If the OP also made a poll asking how many of us prefer to Solo the game I have no doubt there'd be a majority. How many people on the forum already go into difficulty threads and say "I solo Group Dungeons all the time git gud scrub."
Fact is the "Massively Multiplayer" in MMO only means there are other people playing around you in the game world, but when it comes to the game itself the mechanics doesn't force everyone to interact with everyone else. And even if there may be a lot of big Social Guilds, I doubt people log into the game only when they know they'll have others to group with immediately.
Honestly all the OP did was claim most people play solo, which, technically, is true outside of organized Trial Groups which take time to bring together, or any PuG that only exists in certain situations like a Daily Undaunted or Cyrodiil.
Yet again, there's no evidence that most players play solo except the opinions of solo players. And that's not really evidence.
As you can see on the front page, most people disagree (see the 'agrees' on one of the first comments disagreeing with him) with him, and only a handful agree.
There's a lot of confirmation bias going on here.

To be accurate, you'd need to have a "log-in" poll. The number of people who habituate a game's forum is a rather small percentage of the entire population of the game. Also needing to be considered is that many of those who do use the forums are discontent and trying to convince the studio to change things, add things etc.
IOW, polls are interesting but they only give a view of the people who use the forums which is not a large enough group to give useable data. For entertainment purposes only.

As you like, just understand that it's not a valid set of data. It's interesting though I will never understand why folk worry about how others prefer to play (assuming that their preference doesn't interfere with others').
Died in the wool soloer for numerous reasons but I strongly feel that content should be as equally divided as possible between those who solo and those who group. Makes for a game that draws more folk, hence more money which, hopefully, leads to longevity.

Putting rewards around doing something that most people do at least once per day I think is a very natural and generous thing to do.

✭TBH the only issue I have with this is the RNG/drop rate. If collectibles are guaranteed to not be duplicates, and people can get up to 14 boxes in a day, this means probably about 90% of the contents will be "consumables". That sucks for those who only have one or two characters. Perhaps the first box of the day per account should be a guaranteed collectible, then after that the RNG would kick in.
Also, I'm thinking we won't even be able to convert these consumables into gems. Chances are they're not even crown store consumables. Who knows.
Anyway if the rewards would drop off the last dungeon boss to allow soloing of the dungeons, some players would be farming the living daylight out of FG I. This way with the finder, I imagine they have more control over who did what how many times with which caracter. Like how the rewards already work.0 -

On a side note, If it wasn't for friends that I made while running dungeons I would have quit playing a long time ago. You never know when you are going to get grouped with someone you get along well with.Playing since beta...1 -
Arobain✭✭✭✭well as a pvper, i have to do pve to get my gear, and to upgrade it, as a pver, i have to go into pvp to get vigor and other abilities, as a group player i have to do maelstrom arena by myself, and as a soloer, i have to do dungeons, and other group content with other people
if you are going to be THAT adamant about doing something you in particular dont enjoy, but is overall, healthy for the game, instead of just sucking it up like the rest of us, and getting so neato free stuff, then perhaps you dont deserve it?6 -
