Of course players should be banned. And not only 3 days. A lot of players are exploiting left and right precisely because ZOS takes action only with 3 days suspensions mostly.

@DjMuscleboy02 I see you're new here (you joined last January).

Before talking about bans, let's take a look at what ZOS doesn't ban for:

    - Getting no deaths, speedruns, HMs in trials through exploits (vRoM, vCoS, vMoL). All happened before, people could solo vMoL HM on a Sorc for months, none got banned.
    - Skipping all stages in vMA and go straight to the last one. Made farming easy and didn't give a score, which was practical to hide your farming activities. None of the people I know that did this got banned.
    - Using Cheat Engine in PvE for better scores (infinite ultimate spam + god mode). Leaderboards got reset though.
    - Using Cheat Engine in PvP silently, without bragging about it (infinite ultimate spam + god mode), i.e. only reported by others.
    - Carrying other people through tough achievements by playing on their account, for gold or real money. While against the ToS and very easy to prove through IP checks, it is widely practiced (and widely reported). However, my guilds practiced this a lot and my potion costs are covered for the next years in ESO (as well as future game purchases on Steam). Not a single ban case.
    - Just for the sake of this list: Taking an enemy (or your own) scroll and bringing it to another enemy in PvP. I always do that because I find all the rage fun. I do not overestimate if I say that at least 2000 people must have reported me by now.
    - Underground hack in PvP. Getting into enemy keeps with the help of a Nightblade friend without sieging and taking them from the inside.

What people were getting 3-day bans for:

    - Using Cheat Engine in PvP, spamming infinite meteors while having god mode. Posting videos of oneself doing it on YouTube, then reporting oneself to ZOS.
    - AP farm glitch on the first double AP event. All my friends got their Grand Overlord this way in just a few days. ZOS did ban for 3 days, but only those that were not ESO plus or regular crown store customers. All got to keep their title/achievement.
    - Infinite resources, i.e. infinite gold, from a bank exploit through writs. 3 days ban. All people got to keep their resources/gold.

What people were getting permanent bans for:

    - Impersonating ZOS. If you write a message to someone, saying "Hi, I wish you a great day. Sincerely, ZOS," and that person reports you, you're out. For some reason, they really don't mess around when it comes to that.
    - Credit card fraud, Crown Store exploits.
    - Roleplaying *** *** Klan on NA server by dressing all white and doing the fire axe animation. Huge group (12+ people) got banned without hesitation. Even some bystanders that were wearing white-ish armor got the ban hammer, though 1 or 2 people that could prove their non-participance got unbanned. I'm sure you'll suffer the same fate if you play *** on EU server.

    Questionable things:

    - Botting. They used to get banned (permanently) fairly quickly, back when ESO just came out. However, by now ZOS faced the awesome EU legislation, which puts consumer rights over everything else and, if violated, can easily ban you from receiving EU payments until matters are resolved. So when ZOS sees a bot, bans him, but that "bot" goes ahead and complains, saying "I'm just a consumer, I don't like talking to anyone, I enjoy this game by pressing the same buttons over and over again," that's a problem for ZOS. Hence, bots are not getting banned anymore.

Now, knowing this, just go ahead and enjoy the game. :)

You know there is something wrong with game rule enforcement when people can openly brag on the game developers official forum they and their friends exploited the [snip] out of the game.

Also the EU legislation is to blame for a lot of things, but not that bots are not being banned. ZOS simply has no interest to do so as the cost outweighs the benefits for them.

Congrats on being such a model player who has friends who are paragons of ethical behavior. Exploiting is totally fine - it’s just a game, right?

Best post ever lmao not because it doesn't matter these players might or might not have cheated It's just with eso being in the shape it currently is in on ps4 and xbox a thread like this just draws their already short attention span away from fixing the real problems console players are currently having such as infinite load screens

No, exploiting is not fine. The only thing I admitted to was selling achievements, but there's actually tons of threads here on the forums where people are looking for carry runs for gold. It's accepted by ZOS.

Yes, I have many friends that exploited before. Doesn't mean they're bad friends. Furthermore, I can't say the game treated me very fair, either. 600+ vMA runs without the weapon you want can change your attitude and turn a righteous person into an exploiter if you start hating the game with enough passion. Yes, retrait fixed these problems.

So how are your future game purchases on Steam covered by selling carry runs? Only possible if you were taking real money.

And btw, everything on your list deserves a 30 day suspension on the first offense or even a permanent ban.

It'll be interesting to see what actions if any happen.

In the past ZOS hasn't really stopped people from using or punished issues like this, they just patch it ASAP.

There are still a number of skips and cheese mechanics in dungeons and trials which we're waiting on patches for (sadly this is one of those issues that bugs me enough to have a grumble).

actually you did ... by looking on this forum you seen a post with header "vAS HM Exploit, Please Fix" so you care enough to click on , spend time reading it and then search for a meme and then comment on it. ps its also people who agree with the meaning showing you do care :D

IF you truly didn't care you would read the header and move on not caring about what the post was about

heheh sorry could not help my self

    :p
This is and always will be absurd logic. Just because I found his post amusing enough to mock does not mean I care that someone glitched a trial.

What he meant was that you gave it enough time and thought to post that image. Similar to how you replied to his comment.

Will it get fixed? Will it become a norm for group to use to farm rewards? Honestly who knows with ZOS.

....however I’ve also heard the disgusting rng on runebox drops. Not gonna lie, it is very tempting to figure this exploit out if runebox rng is as atrocious as I’ve heard.

Hopefully ZOS patches whatever this exploit is asap but also bumps up that runebox droprate. I’d hate for undeserving groups to get the title/skin/runebox but those who can beat HM shouldn’t have to farm a 30min fight 100+ times to get everyone a runebox drop.

Another thread popped up about a Snipe exploit in vAS so there’s a good chance it’s as absurd as the vMoL HM exploit was.

They’d rather wait 1-2 months to fix the exploit, so all of us are either going to use it to farm loot or else be “left out”. Then we wait until next major patch to fix load times/it never gets fixed.

I don´t think you can get to the last boss anymore, ZOS fixed that. I think I´ve seen a video on youtube not long ago where someone tried to get to last boss after ZOS "fixed it" but the wall to the backyard doesn´t disappear.

I think you guys are often crying for bans too quickly. Take the skins and titles from them, fix the bug, done.

Yeah that’s what happens with most exploits. It’s an act of self defense against the game not working correctly. Poor exploiters.

    It's a judgment call.

When Dragons Crest got the first vAS speedrun, they did so with the benefit of Felms being bugged and not doing all of his mechanics. That was unavoidable--everyone who fought Felms alone that week got the benefit of that bug, and most importantly, you didn't have to do anything extraordinary to trigger the bug.

So when people called them for "exploiting", it was nonsense. They ran into a bug. Not an exploit.

Things like the vMoL exploit are true exploits. And from what I've heard about the vAS exploit, it's an exploit too. What makes it different is the deliberate action that people take. These are not things that happen naturally as you play the content normally. They're not even things that happen naturally if you play the content in a weird way. These are things that require a very specific set of things that are deliberately done by the player.

I suppose it's like the difference between involuntary manslaughter and first-degree murder.

I actually think that's what happens with most exploits at first, yes.

edit: Do you have a better explanation? You think 12 people get together for a trial with nothing in mind than finding a bug at the last boss they can exploit to beat it? OP stated he didn't know how exactly it was done so I assume it wasn't public yet.

actually you did ... by looking on this forum you seen a post with header "vAS HM Exploit, Please Fix" so you care enough to click on , spend time reading it and then search for a meme and then comment on it. ps its also people who agree with the meaning showing you do care :D

Similar to how you replied to his comment.
...And? I thought “who cares,” typed “who cares” in google, and chose an image. It took about 30 seconds at best lmao.

What do you mean by “...and?”. It was my case and point, I shouldn’t have to explain it. Sure, “it took about 30 seconds at best”, but you still gave it thought and time.

Going back to the original image however. People do care, and they care enough to want the exploiters to be banned, and have ZOS fix the exploit.

Honestly, I'm not surprised at this point.
But its kind of mind-boggling that people can be so desperate. I mean, trying to figure out a way to exploit and then spamming snipe for 4+ hours? With this level of determination they could've killed the bosses normally instead of embarrassing themselves.

That on the other hand does look like a true intended exploit.

No Champ, that's not how the internet works. It's one or the other, you can't have all the things or a middle ground.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying fix this bug over the loading screens. Obviously the loading screens affect everyone. But how can you release new content that is supposedly the most difficult PVE content and have it glitched on day 3 and not take action?

Had this happen on Rakkhat HM where mechanics stopped happening. We wiped and reset. And I gave them the benefit of the doubt at first, until they were seen in Deshaan flaunting it. Had the glitch happened and they reported it, then no harm done. But no, from my understanding, what happened was they found this glitch on normal then went into vet hm to exploit it for the achievements. But yes, I would be fine with removing their achievements.
