If you know where the range adds will spawn (which comes with experience and a lot of practice with vMA) try to run to the spawn points of the range adds. I usually prioritises the archers and then the Frostcasters (since the archers can put a nasty DoT on you). But if you´re using a bow, try to channel up the heavy attack so it goes of when the add spawns, so you burst it down quickly. The trick with vMA in general is that the more damage you can do the better (since a dead add can´t do you any harm the longer an add stays alive the more harm it will do to you). Investing into tankiness is less beneficial than investing into the offense in vMA. Stamplars are probably one of the more bursty classes for vMA. If you´ve Dawnbreaker of smithing available, don´t be afraid to use it on trash
