Meh, you just camp out in a dungeon. So pick one that might drop interesting gear. or pick one that you think may be less crowded. Last year I was in a dungeon in Auridon. Thinking of going elsewhere this year.

I had good luck with a few of the public dungeons that had several bosses in a circle, I wasn't able to one shot them so by the time I took them and the adds in a loop, the very first one was re-spawning again.

This was made just for the last event, its just a timer activated when you get one, I would think it would still work?

The addon got placed under the discontinued category after the event ended last year. But I expect that it would still work this year. And if for some unexpected reason it doesn't work, I think I could convince the author to fix it.

Thanks guys! Let's hope the one from last year works! I promise I'm not taking it too seriously, but I also don't wanna get a kill too early and miss a skull.

Just loot the bosses in pledge dungeons, run nMA/vMA and actually loot the chests, go wander over and solo a world boss here and there. If this goes anything like last year's plunder skulls, you will be drowning in worthless motif pages and recipes before you even know what happened.

It's true that I had enough motif pages and recipes to teach every character on 3 accounts. But the drop rate of the collectible masks (and two new ones are being added this year) is very low, and despite the enormous number of skulls I collected last year, I was still unable to complete the set without trading with people.

Unfortunately, the timer from last year does not work for this year's festival, as this year's festival has new Plunder Skulls with different IDs, so the addon wasn't detecting them.

Fortunately, the author didn't take much convincing to post an updated version. Something about not knowing when it's safe to start executing a boss.

Public dungeon bosses seem to have a higher cooldown than three minutes. I've been circling the Vile Manse for a while now, and while I don't have the exact time yet, it took longer than three minutes before another skull dropped.

EDIT 1: 5:30 is sufficient.

EDIT 2: The public dungeon group event doesn't seem to count or have a different cooldown. I did not get a skull after 5:40 from the Vile Manse one.

EDIT 3: 4:00 is sufficient.

Yes, people reported last year that non-instanced bosses have a different cooldown. As someone mentioned earlier, it's 3 minutes for instanced content (group dungeons, trials, and arenas) and 5 minutes for other content. I have not verified the 5-minute claim, though, since I like to avoid crowds during events like this and stay exclusively within instanced content.

(I was soloing normal Fungal 1 on my EU character with fewer than 300 CP--I play on NA--and there were some bosses where I had to wait before executing because it wasn't quite 3 minutes yet, so if you pick an easy dungeon like FG1, you get the luxury of privacy and you're still going through it fast enough that you're getting skulls pretty much on cooldown.)

Yeah I'm doing it out of curiosity mostly. It's not easy to time the skull and boss cooldown in public dungeons. So far I've narrowed it down to "between 3:20 and 4:00" in Vile Manse.
