ESO one of the more "modest" titles in the genre?

Although there is some mild degeneracy here and there in the game, it is nice that such themes are limited.

Playing through Shadowrun, for example, was a real snore fest due to the injection of real world political themes into such a dystopian future. Some themes were just plain anachronisms and didn't fit in.

There's a difference between "modest" and "not sexy." ;)

    Plus the datamined Nocturnal.. thing.

The Nocturnal costume though is keeping to canon at least. Its exactly how it was in TES:V. It may be real showy, but that particularly is just how Female preferred Princes look. (Or, were chosen to look)

Also not sure whats wrong with Naryu's unique outfit, its full covering even and looks a lot nicer than default Dunmer.

I know Nocturnal's costume is lore-based. :) I have two related-but-separate objections to it: first, that the costumes designed for female characters are disproportionately eye candy compared to the kinds of male costumes in the game. Second, that the store is offering so many eye candy costumes that those of us who prefer our characters to have non-sexy clothes are being left out.

Offering Nocturnal's outfit as a costume adds yet another ~sexy~ female costume to the store. It was datamined alongside the Divath Fyr costume; which of those would you wear to a dance club?

There's nothing "wrong" with Naryu's new costume, but it's an example of the design changes because it was designed to be eye candy where the old one wasn't. It clings to the character, and the waist mini-girdle-thing accentuates both hourglass and carrot figures. (Again, hourglass women and carrot men - one's a sex object and one's a power fantasy.) It's a really well thought-out costume, the designer deserves a round of drinks for it! But it's still eye candy.

(To reiterate, I have no problems with eye candy costumes - I own Naryu's new costume and laugh at the way it accentuates my male main's bum.)

going to keep tanking in my dress

That's actually a little funny, considering that nudity is the game's fault.

I kind of dig the subtlety (though I add a plus 1 for some more 'revealing yet masculine' outfits for men)

For example, my favorite achievement was the Indecent Exposure one, where if you get busted wearing a full set of stolen gear you are 'indecently' exposed. And some of the NPC dialogue - I forget where I was but one blacksmith says "I'd like to hammer at her forge."

Yes Khajiit is a little confused at the removal of the images.

These were all pictures taken in Tamriel during the very best month in its history yes.

If it is there and we can see it there then why can we not also see it here?

Also Khajiit was surprised no one linked her picture of Spencer Rye. Fear not Khajiit will not do so herself but his laid back attitude to his lack of pants was quite eye watering indeed!

I'd welcome them adding more skimpy/sexy outfits and armor.

I find this whole fear of showing skin to be a bit old fashioned and as for armor impracticality, all female armor is impractical in ESO, it's a Fantasy game, who cares?

To be frank I'm sure the main reason is everyone knows there's a massive amount of young players who completely disregarded the 'M' rating and had their parent or older sibling buy the game for them. And you'd be starved to find a parent who's completely fine with letting their kid dress their female character in something skimpy and then proceed to dance for other players in Mournhold, all while playing in the Living Room.

Then again, if anything like that happens, it's their fault their kid had access in the first place, not ZOS's. And since I myself am of quite legal age and then some, I'd appreciate some eye candy as well.

Will definitely be buying that Nocturnal Costume if it hits the Crown Store.

It is pretty refreshing. I find that, overall, Western MMOs aren't as over the top as Eastern MMOs but ESO has still impressed me in comparison to WoW and GW2 even. I'm still unfamiliar with a lot of armor styles in the game though, and I desperately wish for transmutation so we can change the appearance of armor pieces.

Having said that, I like heavy armor, but I also find myself struggling with wanting to show off more skin for Mind Shriven and Dro-m’Athra. :s

Most of the players I play with are well into their 20's or older.
At least this isn't like GTA V where it seems that 90% of the player base is 12 or acts 12.

I have never found boob plate armour or skin revealing armour to hurt immersion for me. If I was that nitpicky, The inventory system would utterly destroy my immersion. Somehow my character can hold tons of armour, swords, staves, crafting items etc all in his pocket or magically invisible backpack. Or perhaps the fact my character can be stabbed repeatedly then be burnt alive by fireballs, yet can heal immediately afterwards just by being out of combat. A realistic game just would not be fun...

I understand there's a policy, but this is a game that depicts humans being brutally murdered. Actually there's is a whole skill line basically dedicated to brutally murdering people in cold blood.
I really think society's values are way out of whack on this one ... where something that's terrible in real life is fun to play and watch, but something that's natural and fun is so censored and taboo ... just my 2c ...

I love it. I hate sexualization in video games (male or female). It breaks immersion and feeds misogynistic social norms on gender.

Gave up on video game ratings a few years ago,
was at a store looking through games when a young child and what appeared to be his grandmother came up
he picked up Call of Duty or some such and asked her for it
she said to him "I don't know if this game is suited to you"
he grabbed another game off the shelf with a demon on the cover
and said something to the effect of "no no this is too scary for me, this one is fine"

took a moment to politely try and speak to her and explain the ESRB ratings on the boxes
and how the one he wanted was rated Mature and the one he compared to was rated Teen,
both as 'too severe' content for his age group

you know how she thanked me?
grabbed both games, said "don't try to tell me what he can and can't play"
and took him by the arm and went straight for the checkout

now, that is likely the type of grandmotherly instincts that would be enacted by myself at her age,
    so do not judge her
but ESRB ratings are pretty bad at doing the job they are 'meant' to

No worries more an more costumes are getting closer and closer. And if your tired of waiting just break out the dark shaman costume which has been in the game for how long?

Eso May have less of it because they made sure none of the motifs had it. And if the motif did, it was edited out. Looking at you boob windows. Or maybe not looking at you, since you were removed. Now you can only fight in a bra if you pay for it in the store.
