I don't run this set but it is clear ZOS wants to cater towards more casual gameplay (ie holding block and spamming a few skills while being unkillable unless zerged) rather than skill
(inb4 people say ganking requires no skill but don't understand the judgement of surroundings and ability to escape after the gank that is required)
Guess I'll roll a permablocking magplar BoL spamming unkillable piece of aids next patch :^)

Yes, that is why they nerfed block and BoL the last few patches, because they want people to do both.
They aren't trying to stop gankers, they are trying to stop bombers.

Doesn't matter tho either or by nerfing clever alchemist it also affects gankers if they just wanted to stop bombers they should just remove the spell damage it gives and make it where it only gives weapon damage they aren't trying to just stop bombers they are also trying to nerf this set to stop gankers it clearly says to stop one shotting from stealth which is ridiculous cause with all the people wearing heavy armor or shield stacking a one shot while using clever alchemist is rare now it will even be more so the devs don't play their game or they would know that this change isn't needed

Also if someone get ganked or bombed, thats their own fault, not a sets or feature's fault. For God's sake its a full pvp zone, always be prepared for action and only go afk if you're hiding somewhere or you're in a keep
RIP alchemist we never forget you bombers of Cyrodiil!!
Wth it's not like they completely remove the set. They change 1!!! small aspect of a set that affects 1 niche playstyle that works with many other sets just as good.
Stop crying about things that change nothing but help to *** up exploiters.
And to everyone who thinks that it would be better to remove the buff when you no longer wear 5 pieces. This would kill this set as one of the best backbar sets not this laughable need to be in-fight to gain the effect
Its still possible to use clever alch for ganking. Charge up bow heavy attack (or a snipe), let it go, then drink potion and continue your combo. Since those things have slow travel times, you will be put in combat but you will also drink the potion before the thingy hits.

being a solo player - most of the folks I relate to are on this forum...
you have a great perspective on the game (which is normally pretty darn humorous) and a solid voice of reason...plus, you have a way with memes
I won't ever leave eso entirely , having too much love for the lore and the friends . Changes like this to CA , that nobody asked for btw , are ones that drive me away from PVP . We had a huge damage nerf accross the board with the removal of a lot of proc set power last patch . That was great and needed ! But no one looked at changing the healing or defenses to compensate for the meta change . So we ended up in the end with a Defence meta which is way slower and boring then any burst meta ever was . This is what I think would be common sense with balance and we knew more changes were coming so I said ok and stayed optimistic ! Well , those changes are here and it's more offensive nerfs in a Defence heavy meta .
Ever watch heavy weight boxing and get bored when the two guys have to hug each other to death in the 8th and 9th round ? Their just exhausted , sweating and making more love then war . I usually go out for chips and salsa when that starts and get back in time for the judges decision . Because it's pretty slow and boring to me . That's PVP after these changes to me .
As a player who cant gank if her life depended on it and gets ganked regularly (read: not a ca nightblade), they need to revert this change. They need to keep options open in order for this playstyle to remain viable. Stealth gank has plenty of counters already and theres no reason in pve for this nerf..

You quite missed the point the change tried to address. It's not ganking per se but gear swapping. Whether their solution is sound is an entirely different question.

Let the decon begin.
Yeah I run a bow gank build it's already hard enough to use the bow cause it's so under powered but I always had clever alchemist to look forward to make up for the lack the bow does before I would hit my target now your forced to confront your target as a stamina nightblade to get your damage increase nightblade are already squishy as it is we don't like to confront anyone nightblades like to burst people down then move to the next
Translation:
Us Stamina Nightblades are cowards who only want fight unsuspecting opponents who we can (hopefully) burst down before they can fight back...

lol and the [snip] idea of the day award goes to....
I kid.
I do think there are some add ons that have no business in pvp that likely put unneeded stress on the server *cough cough* Miats *cough cough* but I dont think banning them all is the solution.
It is the perfect solution in my opinion.
Fixed thatNarvuntien wrote: »The problem is the addons giving unfair advantages to the people that use them.
Erm, no. Not an unfair advantage. Anyone can get the add-ons, some people just choose to use them and some dont. The ones that dont may or may not put themselves at what may be perceived as a disadvantage.
Some people cant use add ons because their hardware struggles with their demands. That's a wholllle different topic though. It's like people that can drive to work vs those that have to walk.
It's clear to me that you simply dislike add ons so lets kinda move forward on that premise and not act like they're bad in general for whatever reason lol
Not to be rude, but I'm fairly sure armor and weapons are made for combat. So being in combat to use them properly sounds normal to me.
The issue is some people on PC were using addons to rapidly equip clever alchemist, get the proc, and then unequip the whole set and replace with something like Spriggans or Hundings before attacking.
The combat requirement prevents people from changing their gear after getting the proc.
I personally would prefer that they make it so that procing clever alchemist PUTS you in combat... it would have the same effect at preventing gankers with addons... but the “in combat” system is already buggy enough as is and I doubt they could pull that off.
I run CA and I will not be affected by this.
