I'm trying to play with my mageblade trying to use this skill in a similar way as I do with cristal fragments with my sorc, but it is damn difficult to trigger it.
I'm a magblade, I've executed 10k+ kills with merciless resolve's assassin's will.
It's the magblades highest DPS skill other than ultimates.

Evasión, roll, hide, flee, etc, etc and etc. In comparison with cristal fragments that u only need to have some luck using any skill, land 5 autoattacks is a HELL.
I really don't know in which situation this skill is practical, but in pvp is waste of slot, even for the 8% more damage, since to use the skill is relatively something secondary expecting to use it.
Do you think it should be reworked?

Can you please then share in short words your gear, skill sets and rotation in pvp, because I'm dying to know how many times you can use this skill in real combat time compared to the number of times a sorcerer will shot you with crystal fragments in the same period of time.
Merciless Resolve is the most important part of the mageblade tool kit for PVP, its not hard to proc at all you just need to understand game mechanics properly.
First off, make sure you're always weaving with your resto on your back bar, those attacks are undodgeable and will help ensure you proc the bow.

You can't be serious... do you think it's logic the need to swap to a resto staff to ensure you don't miss any autoattack to then again have to swap to your destro staff to use the skill? Unacceptable.
Swapping has to be part of a strategy or some kind of game play but not to use a stupid skill.
Frag is currently easier to proc during a standard rotation and easier to animation cancel, but has far less damage potential than merciless resolve on a proper build.
But you can simply just cast merciless resolve and simply do 5 light attacks from your restoration staff, very easy to do while maintaining important buffs. Once you have merciless procced you have some time to setup your burst combo with a CC, and take advantage of how high merciless hits.
Currently you can't animation cancel grim focus, but next patch you'll be able to block cancel it in the same way as frag. This will make it easier to combo it with an ultimate and the rest of your burst lineup.

It.. is part of the strategy? You can miss fireballs, so you'd be missing out on both the proc and the LA damage. Plus if you're in trouble you're already on your resto bar which can help you recover.
What are you currently running?

Grim focus most useless skill?

WOW really? block casting it will give my sword and board build a huge buff
Grim Focus: The Assassin’s Will and Assassin’s Scourge procs from this ability and its morphs no longer have a 100ms cast time, but the speed of the projectile has been reduced by approximately 10%.

l2weave
how would it appear in a death recap?
I don't think I've ever seen: grim focus or assassin's will on a death recap...
edit: reading the skill -
can be any enemy to proc, or, does it need to be a single target?
does it need to be 4 consecutive attacks - if not, does it automatically proc after any combination that includes 4 light/heavy attacks within a 20 second timeframe?
