One time change is quite strict, maybe there should be a cool down, or a temporary limit to how many times you can change it in a time span, that resets periodically.
Nah, one time change ensures people are just doing it for the new classes. If they choose not to use it on those classes, then thats on them. TES has always been about choice and consequence, but new classes werent usually introduced to TES games, so a 1 time change is more than enough IMO.
TES also never had classes affect end-game so much and you could have any skills and stats on any class. They only defined your initial amount of stats.
Also, this choice is not made in game, it's made outside of it. It's in character creations - BEFORE you actually start the game and BEFORE you know that turns out this or that class sucks at the level cap. And BEFORE any re-balancing and such. It's not like players should be responsible for developers' decisions to change everything thus changing how classes feel compared to other classes.
You arent going to get me to change my mind. I dont think people should be able to change classes at a whim because then we would get people constantly changing class based on the fotm class /build. a one time token guarantees that wouldnt happen.
Clearly not a problem for ZOS as you would need to buy the change token and that would be revenue for ZOS! You put out this baseless and absurd accusation that they don't want to sell you a class change token because they want to sell more character slots -- but we already have 8 characters slots to start. That is enough for characters in every class.White wabbit wrote: »DaveMoeDee wrote: »White wabbit wrote: »Why would they want to give you class change tokens it would stop people buying extra characters slots
Why would people stop buying extra character slots if there was a class change token? I would rather have an additional character than keep paying to switch a character back and forth.
And why would that be a problem for ZOS? You can only open a character slot once. You can change a class multiple times.
Because you would just change the same character over and over and wouldn't need to buy extra slots , as I have said before it's not hard to level up a character I have one of each
Id turn my nightblade into a warden in a heartbeat. That nb has been my main since eso early access, has all crafting skills maxed and most others too, but I was pushing for a nature based class since beta. Now that its here I just don't feel like having to start all over.
I just rolled a new warden (so I could learn the class) and once I got CP160, moved all my unused armor from my NB main. Only thing that sucked was buying bag space and mount training. Mount training really didn't bother me though since my Orc Warden ran at max mount speed anyway. I was pretty much 50 by the time I finished Varfendell and World quests.
HOW WERE YOU 50!? I did everything in vardenfell and was only 27 by the end! O.O
Impossible, neither lvl50 or lvl27. I got to lvl18 max without using xp scrolls from two fresh warden.
I admit i did some pvp too. The exp in vardenfell is just god awful, did ZoS ever justify why its so damned low?

The majority reason people want a class change token is to change to the FOTM build class.
I've spent the past week in Cyrodiil playing a warden healer. Not a sorceror. Not everybody cares about what is freaking meta.

was there supposed to be? yes please. give up on this silly idea.

It would make getting the dark brotherhood and thieves guild achievements so much easier to get....and for me just everything else too. My pvp rank would be higher because I'd have played it more. I'd probably have all the dungeon achievements too. Magic temp just doesn't feel so good any more for these things :'(

Very reasonable, but I'm not sure the answer is class respec. Wouldn't the answer be account-wide achievements? We're halfway there already with many account-wide aspects, and I really think that's the way to go.

Yeah, and many others besidesAlpha-Lupi wrote: »You do know there was a similar discussion to this from 8 months ago, right?

Devs apparently don't want people to bump old threads (according to one post I saw), so if people want to continue the discussion, they pretty much have to make a new thread after many months have passed.Alpha-Lupi wrote: »You do know there was a similar discussion to this from 8 months ago, right?

- CHOICES MUST BE PERMANENT AND HAVE MEANING: Not valid when the company keeps changing classes, usage, passives, sets and defining characteristics of the class.
Total destruction of most negative opinions on the subject.
- PEOPLE WILL ALL USE THE FOTM: People who care to do it, already do through alts.
- I WON'T CHANGE MUH CLASS SO NOBODY SHOULD HAVE THE OPTION: Your input is irrelevant, you have nothing to do with other people's choices.
- PEOPLE WILL BE MAX LEVEL AND WON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY THEIR CLASSES: That already happens and is also not your business. Don't want to suffer through pugs then join a guild or make leet friends.
- CHOICES MUST BE PERMANENT AND HAVE MEANING: Not valid when the company keeps changing classes, usage, passives, sets and defining characteristics of the class.
- IF THERE IS CHANGE THEN ALL MUST BE RESET: Yes, because collecting skyshards is a brutal demonstration of skill and earning. If the player did, he has "earned" it.
- MAKE THREADS LIKE THAT IS USELESS COZ WILL NEVER HAPPEN: Yes, ZOS has never went back on it's word or changed what they said before...
