Would you want a "class re-choose" token/option in the game?

One time change is quite strict, maybe there should be a cool down, or a temporary limit to how many times you can change it in a time span, that resets periodically.

Nah, one time change ensures people are just doing it for the new classes. If they choose not to use it on those classes, then thats on them. TES has always been about choice and consequence, but new classes werent usually introduced to TES games, so a 1 time change is more than enough IMO.

TES also never had classes affect end-game so much and you could have any skills and stats on any class. They only defined your initial amount of stats.

Also, this choice is not made in game, it's made outside of it. It's in character creations - BEFORE you actually start the game and BEFORE you know that turns out this or that class sucks at the level cap. And BEFORE any re-balancing and such. It's not like players should be responsible for developers' decisions to change everything thus changing how classes feel compared to other classes.

You arent going to get me to change my mind. I dont think people should be able to change classes at a whim because then we would get people constantly changing class based on the fotm class /build. a one time token guarantees that wouldnt happen.

You can have whatever opinion you want on whether people should be able to change classes. I'm arguing with with the part that is wrong - the part where you connect classes of other TES games and choice and consequence. TES games never ever punished you for choosing a class or even restricted you in ANY WAY. Don't care about changing your mind, but will call you out when you say some nonsense like that.

Why would they want to give you class change tokens it would stop people buying extra characters slots

Why would people stop buying extra character slots if there was a class change token? I would rather have an additional character than keep paying to switch a character back and forth.

And why would that be a problem for ZOS? You can only open a character slot once. You can change a class multiple times.

Because you would just change the same character over and over and wouldn't need to buy extra slots , as I have said before it's not hard to level up a character I have one of each
Clearly not a problem for ZOS as you would need to buy the change token and that would be revenue for ZOS! You put out this baseless and absurd accusation that they don't want to sell you a class change token because they want to sell more character slots -- but we already have 8 characters slots to start. That is enough for characters in every class.

And most people would rather have character in each class so they don't change their DK to Sorc to Templar back to DK to Sorc to NB -- which would be pricey. Creating 2 DKs, 2 Sorcs, a Templare and a NB is free. Put tokens out there and people will still want a lot of alts.

Id turn my nightblade into a warden in a heartbeat. That nb has been my main since eso early access, has all crafting skills maxed and most others too, but I was pushing for a nature based class since beta. Now that its here I just don't feel like having to start all over.

I just rolled a new warden (so I could learn the class) and once I got CP160, moved all my unused armor from my NB main. Only thing that sucked was buying bag space and mount training. Mount training really didn't bother me though since my Orc Warden ran at max mount speed anyway. I was pretty much 50 by the time I finished Varfendell and World quests.

HOW WERE YOU 50!? I did everything in vardenfell and was only 27 by the end! O.O

Impossible, neither lvl50 or lvl27. I got to lvl18 max without using xp scrolls from two fresh warden.

I admit i did some pvp too. The exp in vardenfell is just god awful, did ZoS ever justify why its so damned low?

Because it is a DLC like Wrothgar. How much exp is there in Wrothgar?

The majority reason people want a class change token is to change to the FOTM build class.
Did it ever occur to you that a lot of people don't care about FOTM?
I've spent the past week in Cyrodiil playing a warden healer. Not a sorceror. Not everybody cares about what is freaking meta.

Plus, a lot of people already have max level on all classes. And I have to imagine this concern about class change is only from PvP players. Doesn't make any sense to be concerned with that if talking about group PvE content.

was there supposed to be? yes please. give up on this silly idea.

Why should I? I understand your reasons to think its a bad idea, i just hope you can understand my reasons to think its not.

After a thousand changes, im not settling until I see this implemented

Defiantly. I've always wished my main was a nightblade instead of a Templar. It would make getting the dark brotherhood and thieves guild achievements so much easier to get....and for me just everything else too. My pvp rank would be higher because I'd have played it more. I'd probably have all the dungeon achievements too. Magic temp just doesn't feel so good any more for these things :'(

I will always be against this and nothing has changed, just NO. I'll never understand why everyone must get every achievement that isn't involving skyshards or such. It will be abused too much.

    No, we don't need a class-change.

We need accountwide-achievements, because then we can play what we want and don't need to get 12x Chars with Master-Angler a.s.o. :D

Skyshards and Lorebooks farming is very relaxing.

Very reasonable, but I'm not sure the answer is class respec. Wouldn't the answer be account-wide achievements? We're halfway there already with many account-wide aspects, and I really think that's the way to go.

You are totally right with that ^^ as a fact, when i started playing i thought achievements where account bound, seems like everything except achievements is tho, even dyes are account bound :/

Same bro, I enjoy much more tanking and being in the frontline than weaving a few attacks from distance, I already have a DK but i dont play him as much since my sorc has all the progress on him

Not necessary. This is part of what an mmorpg is. If you don't like your class, start a new one and level and learn it, just like you did with other classes.

If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

I was forced to make a new character, recently, to play in another combination of "Race - Class".

Devs apparently don't want people to bump old threads (according to one post I saw), so if people want to continue the discussion, they pretty much have to make a new thread after many months have passed.

Total destruction of most negative opinions on the subject.

    - PEOPLE WILL ALL USE THE FOTM: People who care to do it, already do through alts.

    - I WON'T CHANGE MUH CLASS SO NOBODY SHOULD HAVE THE OPTION: Your input is irrelevant, you have nothing to do with other people's choices.

    - PEOPLE WILL BE MAX LEVEL AND WON'T KNOW HOW TO PLAY THEIR CLASSES: That already happens and is also not your business. Don't want to suffer through pugs then join a guild or make leet friends.

    - CHOICES MUST BE PERMANENT AND HAVE MEANING: Not valid when the company keeps changing classes, usage, passives, sets and defining characteristics of the class.

    - IF THERE IS CHANGE THEN ALL MUST BE RESET: Yes, because collecting skyshards is a brutal demonstration of skill and earning. If the player did, he has "earned" it.

    - MAKE THREADS LIKE THAT IS USELESS COZ WILL NEVER HAPPEN: Yes, ZOS has never went back on it's word or changed what they said before...

That's my favorite argument against class change, because it makes the least sense. It's not like we're adopting a child here, or choosing to not drive drunk. It's just a freaking game. LOL.

Many of those reasons are trash and the rest are pretty much pointless. The explanations added to each have little meaning as a result.

The real reason is part of the reason for longevity of players in MMOs is rolling new characters which means it is not in the best interest of Zos to sell class change tokens.

Another reason is additional characters often leads to more crown store sales so finically, in the shorter term, it is not in the gest interest of Zos.

A long term and short term reason which hold solid weight with the business side of Zenimax. It does not matter if one things neither reason applies to them, it is the reason Zos would be reluctant to offer this.

You know what, instead of a class reassignment option is like to see them let us take on other classes on the same character(s). Instead of a crown store gimmick, work it into the game through a quest. Make us earn it. Make us master it. And then....

    Class fusion.

Give us a new class that is a blend of the two classes we've mastered with skills and abilities that combine elements from both base classes. And you can go back to whatever base class you want whenever, but you can't use any skills or whatever from the other class or the class fusion. And for a high cost of gold you can pay to learn another class to master... And gain access to get another class fusion.

I know it seems out there and will likely never happen but it seems more interesting to me than introducing a new class every couple years. Add several that you can mix and match based on existing classes. Kind of like the job classes in FFXIV, which require you to level two classes to certain levels to unlock their jobs, which combine elements from those two classes. It would give players something to work for and earn. And add a lot more variety to the game.
