And is there a way to track some tank numbers and what is "good" of those numbers?

Yes you can. But know that DK is just easier. Nightblade tanking is different.

I've tanked my NB a few times. The challenge is crowd control. What are you going to do when 20 mudcrabs rush your party? If you have talons or shards you can just root them. If you don't, the crabs will be all over the place pestering everyone in the group. Are you going to run around and taunt each crab?

When I find myself trying to tank with my NB (usually caused by fake tank) I will use Caltrops as an opener. It gives DOT and has a good range. It tends to keep most trash mobs focused on you. It also slows them down so it gives your party a chance to move away if they want. Also I'll be running sword and board on one bar and 2H on the other. 2H has a nice brawler feature that can make you nearly invincible against large numbers of trash mobs. So that's another way to control mobs up close and personal.

And then there is the matter of being able to take a beating from a tough boss. How will you sustain against a single target heavy hitter? NB skills will be little help. When you are tanking you are doing everything BUT hiding. Again, the solution will be from your weapon and guild skill lines.

I would be looking at Weapon and Undaunted skill trees. Also watch for set gear to help you taunt or sustain.

That's all for normal dungeons. If you are planning vet dungeons... well good luck to you!

Search for Sap Tank and you will get a few good builds.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Yes. Keep this in mind and the fact that, while it can serve as a tank, the true purpose with which the class was designed isn't for tanking. That doesn't mean that it can't tank; it'll just be a bit "harder" to set it up as a tank.

I will say this, its not that NBs are that much difficult to tank in, its not that big of a change, but you can't give the same group utility as say a DK or a Warden, you might have to use some sets for selfsustain instead of group support, which is fine if you just want to complete, it matters more when you get into really harder content or score runs, but say craglorn vet trials, no problem. Main thing you will want to look at his how you will sustain your blocking, its important in vet trials to be able to block for a very long period of time.

Since there is no regen while holding block what is the difference between a dk heavy attacking to gain stamina and a nb heavy attacking to gain stamina?

Edit: never mind. Helping Hands and Battle Roar is the answer to my question lol. See, yet another reason they need to Revert Siphoning Attacks. If they want balance and diversity in all roles as they claim.

Not as good as they used to be. Sap was nerfed hard with Morrowind. I see less NB tanks these days. Of course in 4 man dungeons it can still be fun.

Any class can tank any vet dungeons in my opinion, but tanking as DK or Warden will be easier. Not sure about vet trials though.
