I am truly saddened to report that if this was in fact changed on the PTS, it makes essentially no visual difference whatsoever and does nothing to help people like myself who have trouble playing Warden due to health issues caused by this radically overblown and totally out of place visual effect.

Back when Mage Light had an orb orbiting the player and it was causing headaches and other problems, ZOS first added an option to disable it in visual settings and then finally removed it altogether. This terrible effect is 10x worse than that ever was.

As someone with a Brain Cavernoma causing recurring hemorrhagic stroke, this effect is preventing me from enjoying the class that was one of the main reasons I bought Morrowind in the first place. After a short time looking at this effect I have a horrible headache and start suffering micro-siezures, and end up having to just log off and lay down.

The beam is still WAY too bright and the sparkle effec ton the player is like a radioactive bee swarm; WAY over done. The whole thing is out of place with nearly every other ability in the game.

I suggest leaving the glow around the betty, removing the current visual from the player and adding something more SUBTLE like swirling leaves with way less glow, and either remove the beam or make it near transparent.

@ZOS_GinaBruno if the devs are married to this jarring unnatural beam for some reason, can you at least ask them to PLEASE add a toggle like they did for the Mage Light effect when it was causing siezures?

The idea that it is needed to identify a build is obsolete by costumes and sword+shield PVP builds anyway.


I love the Warden class, but the visual effect of the laser beam tether when using the Betty (any morph) is to me jarring, immersion-breaking, and overpowering to the point of distraction. I personally think it would be perfect to keep the glow around the Betty itself but completely remove the tether. That would distinguish it from vanity pets. Others might want to change the ability entirely, but I suspect this graphic to be universally hated as no one I have talked to has enjoyed it.

@ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom Is it possible we can get this changed?

As a person prone to seizures due to stroke, this effect actually makes it hard for me to play my Wardens.

    I'm honestly surprised so many appear to like it. To me it is the most geometric and unnatural looking of all abilities in the game.

    Its too strong for one, far to strong, don't mind a line but make it less like an laser.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.

    I don't agree with this argument, based on the existing behavior of literally every other pet in the game. Sorc pets for example, which are far more common than Warden netches, do not have ANY visual effect that shows what Sorc they belong to.

    Also people have costumes to hide vampirism, or so you can't visually tell what type of armor they are actually wearing. So, the idea that we need a jarring and unnatural laser beam effect on a standard buff is really against all established behavior.

    I could accept if someone just liked the effect, though I can't say I would understand it. But to keep it based on the above logic I feel would not be justified.

    At the very least the colors needed to be kept the same for the magicka and stamina morph because it literally tells the enemy which poison to use against you.

    You can't use non-combat pets in PVP so I hardly see why this would be a necessity.

    Its a zero cost regen ability and you want it "stealthed" so others can't tell whether your build is mag or stam.. Its right that it gives an indication of the players build, imo being a free cast ability there should still be a price to pay and if being identified as a stam or mag build is that price then so be it.

    im not saying remove it completely, im saying keep it one color, because no other class has that big " I AM STAM OR MAGICKA " flag except warden.

    The beam could get little less strong and bright, but most importantly the bug where you see people in stealth because of it should be fixed.

    Honestly, I'd rather they just rework the visuals entirely. The netch is 100% necessary for any warden build, but it breaks the theme of just about any build you want to make from it (not that warden is very useful to start with, but still).

    Also dim it about 50% and lower or raise it. Don't need it randomly drifting into and occupying my entire field of vision. The netch is the single reason I'm not excited about grouping with wardens.

    Since the effect in question is presently bugged anyway (revealing stealth) I think it is a good time to revisit this request.

    My suggestion: Make the Betty effect like a softer arcane glowing leaf swirl around you and keep the effect strength on the Betty more or less but LOSE THE BEAM!

    No other ability puts a big bullseye on you in sneak mode in the game. Every other major brutality buff that isnt an attack can be used perfectly fine ( albeit it may pull you out during activation ) in sneak.
