Can anyone clarify if this is legit or not?

The gifting thing has been an experiment going on in the background for (I think) at least a year. I got an email about a year ago ... turned it down because I think it would be dangerous in the long run (people demanding crown stuff before you can join their guild, etc), or trading crown items for gold. Not much different from off-site gold-buying IMO.
