Received an email today from "The Elder Scrolls Online Support Team [xx@xx.xxx]" with a "Special ESO Plus Offer! Buy Three Get One" . Return path Return-Path: <xx@xx.xxx>


In the body the following text,

Two things trigger my bs alarm. First, mail not sent from @bethsoft.com and second, you have to reply to this mail. I've tried the store but there this offer doesn't pop-up.

Can anyone clarify if this is legit or not?

That is the correct email address that Mykael uses to send out special promotions. Why it's not an email from the ESO domain or Bethesda I don't know, but all the mail for promotions I've gotten recently have come from the one you list, and they are legit.

I don't believe it. The punctuation in the Subject and the Snip pieces aren't formatted correctly so I would think it's fake based on those factors.

You can always put in a ticket to ask about it. They do run specials, and I think the tickets asking to buy/gift items from the crown store are handled by Mykael.

The gifting thing has been an experiment going on in the background for (I think) at least a year. I got an email about a year ago ... turned it down because I think it would be dangerous in the long run (people demanding crown stuff before you can join their guild, etc), or trading crown items for gold. Not much different from off-site gold-buying IMO.

I don't see how this offer fits into this but maybe they adapted the program. I do agree with @WyndStryke though, there is a real danger Crown stuff will be used in a way not intended.
