Linchal Grand Manor a bit small?

Hey, I went on PTS to see how this house stacks up against the other cash-exclusive offerings, and I've got to say it actually seems pretty tiny! It's not low-quality or anything, none of them have been, but it does seem like just an overall smaller space to work with than the rest of them. Anyone else feeling the same way?

The outdoor space is huge. The inside is pretty spacious (4 rooms and 2 large foyers)

The real problem is the quality. It's just a copy + paste of existing assets onto a rectangular field that ZOS is charging crowns for.

this is their solution to not having enough housing space in the large houses. to make them smaller so you can place more items in a condensed space.

Huge compared to Earthtear Cavern or the Topal Hideaway? The inside is OK but it doesn't even seem on par with what Strident Springs Demense has to offer, though admittedly there's quite a difference in balcony space. It's WAY smaller than Daggerfall Overlook, which has a tower and everything for interior space, plus I think they're ultimately comparable for exterior space as a result of the beachfront area. Heck even Hunding's Palatial Hall looks larger due to beach space. Maybe it's the walls. They look nice, but it makes it feel significantly undersized compared to other places. I mean heck even Goronir Estate looks bigger in most respects. XD Also the giant reflecting pool is nice, but I'd consider it a much more limited area in terms of options compared to, say, a blank grassy field. I love it, it's just putting pressure on what already seems cramped quarters.

Now, I don't actually care about the use of existing assets, since that's, you know, the entirety of housing so far.

Well I hope the price reflects that. :#

You're right. I was comparing to Daggerfall Overlook/Ebonheart Chateau/Serenity Falls in my head. But of course those are available for gold. It's definitely tiny compared to the crown-exclusive homes. It's got similar space to the mushroom tower though, although that did have the water access. Biggest difference there of course is that mushroom towers were a new asset added with Morrowind. The large Imperial home has been around since the game launched. It was a super lazy implementation. Even the propery is just a flat rectangle. No elevated parts or anything special.

It's a bit too Crownstore exclusive. Should be available for Gold in Connection with either the Imperial Edition like every other single Imperial house or the Bane of the Gold Coast-achievement.

Or, better yet since it is Imperial/Cyrodiilic, tie it with getting a particular PvP rank and make it purchasable with AP. Give the PvP crowd somewhere to put all those Pelinal books.

Honestly i really really hate how imperials are handled in this game.

10th race with extra costs, the nibenay valley is only used for pvp, the imperial city is its own dlc on top of it, colovia will likely be the next chapter if its not summerset or elsweyr, furniture is crown exclusive and 2/3 of it is basicly recoloured breton furniture.
Even story wise the imperial got it bad, most of their legions simply joined mannimarco since necromancers and undead as enemies only get boring fast while those who refused to join are defending cyrodiil while fighting all 3 alliances and are only being repressented by a few dozend npcs.
Gold coast went crazy mode while being sandwhiched between the order of the hour and the dark brotherhood.

To be honest its a bit lack-lustre for something that is probably gonna cost 80-100 bucks!
    - rectangular garden with unimaginative layout
    - copy paste interior .... again!! (c'mon ZOS, comes across as lazy)
In general, just a lack of features. It looks like something thrown together in a few hours with the construction kit. Having made many many housing mods using the original Skyrim construction kit, I can say that this shows a lack of effort imo
All my housing builds are available on YouTube

I am happy to share the EHT save files for most of my builds.

Effort was minimal if not zero.
They simply created an "instanced" area by duplicating an existing asset already in the game.
"Effort" would require they actually design and build something from scratch, you know, how each of us does as a decoration process in our homes.

I have to say i like the layout.
Also like the layout on ebenheart chateau.
But like i said to each their own.

Wouldnt mind it if zos gave us the tools to build things from scratch. With all available buildings and such.

I really liked the outside. I was expecting the inside to be on par with the houses we saw in Hews Bane or Gold Coast. I was very disappointed that it was just a carbon copy of the building housing the pub in Coldharbour.

That would be amazing, even after the event some of us have tens of millions of AP laying around and not much to use it on, letting us buy homes with it would be awesome!

Oh, I'm not saying it's bad, just small.

To be more explicit, I am trying to imply that the price should reflect the comparatively diminished size. If it's closer to the other cash-exclusive houses than to the smaller properties that already exist in game, then that's an obvious signal that they're slowly going to be dialing back how much we get pet dollar spent. I don't like the sound of that and am prematurely expressing my concerns so I have something to point to, should it become relevant later.
