How long does an unverified account go undeleted?

My friend went to make an ESO account to redeem a key, but when making his account, through habit, he put in the wrong email address, one he no longer has access too.

How long until the account gets deleted due to being unverified, so he can use that user ID? He can't remake it with the same ID as it is now taken.

If any ZOS staff is able to delete an unverified account (nothing claimed to it) or change the email, that would be appreciated. Plz inbox me for the details.

    :( nobody knows what the time span is for the account to auto delete if not verified?

    3 days. A friend of mine had the same problem. Your friend needs to contact the eso help team via the support page on the main website. They will ask a few security questions about the account, game purchase etc and then they will change the email address so your friend will be able to access the account to verify it. I can't fault the support team, they sorted the matter out really quickly :)

    Forever. Because of their character naming options with spaces, hyphens, and apostrophes they never really need to "free up" names like other MMO's as you can make the same name in numerous alterations; there's no need to delete an account. Your friend will have to contact tech support, hopefully he kept the account Key and purchase information.

    Yeah he never got to enter the key, its just an empty blank account, he simply wants it gone so he can remake with the same ID as now when he goes to re-do it says the ID is taken.

    He can't log into the support because credentials aren't good, likely because it is not verified.

    Just hoping somebody at ZOS can pm me, i'll tell the ID, they can check its an unverified account with nothing in it, and they can just wipe it, or better yet, change the email addy and send a new verification email.

    I know it is used to ask for a forum name change, But if you tell them what happened they might be able to delete the account in question. Make sure you leave them your new email so they will contact you with answer.
    FYI: I put in a name change and they had it done in about 3 days.

    It's highly unlikely anyone from ZOS is going to see this because it's the weekend and by Monday it will likely have dropped off the front page.

    What do I do if I don’t have access to my ESO game account e-mail and can’t log in?

    If you are unable to log into ESO and don't have access to your game account's e-mail address, you can contact Customer Support for help by following the process below:
    1.Visit the account recovery page.
    2.Click the Suspended / Compromised option.
    3.Fill out the form to the best of your ability. If you are currently using a different e-mail than the one that is associated with your ESO game account, please enter that in the Your Email Address form.
    4.In the Describe Your Problem in Detail box, please include the e-mail address that is associated with your ESO game account.
    5.When you have finished filling out the form, click the Submit a Question box.

    When contacting support, please have your account information ready for verification. The Elder Scrolls Online Customer Support Team will never ask you for your ESO game account password.

    Thanks guys. I'm thinking a change ID solution might be the best option.

    I saw the option to change ID in support.

    We'll be trying this instead. Making a new ID, verify that, redeem key, then put in a request to change ID to the old one either after it expires, or describe that happened in the support ticket.

    Your account user ID is very easy to change from the account management page--don't even have to send in a support ticket. So just have your friend pick whatever ID s/he wants. And then at some point in the future, when the ID that they want is freed up, it's trivially easy to change to it at their leisure.
