A while back I did a poll (see below) and users overwhelmingly said they play ESO like a single player. I still do for the most part but I plan on being more active in guilds and it got me thinking. Why now? I realize it's because I finally joined a guild that feels like a guild. Yes, I think there are a lot of "shell" guilds that people join but not to socialize. But everyone is different and I'd like your own inputs to reflect those differences in a poll.

^ This. I gave up trying to make new friends inside videogames years ago (never tried very hard to begin with). It's hard for me to identify with the type of crowd who typically plays these games.2 -

✭✭✭✭✭Trade GuildDont' tell my social guild... but I tend to yammer on and on to my trade guilds especially when things go bad in a dungeon. My other trade guild... I talk about finance and eso market. Last one tends to have trails for some reason.. maybe because they are based in craglorn...idk. Last trade guild I might leave they tend to bore me, but then again I need more gold.

✭✭✭What i love about trade guilds is when members are having a discussion about prices and best ways to make gold etc and some one pipes up "Is there a way to turn guild chat off" because they find people talking about how easy it is to make gold by doing this or that and giving others advice on how to make gold akin to someone bragging about their real life wealth. Makes you wonder why some people even bother joining a guild that's sole purpose to exist is to make its members gold.

He/she should have asked before joining if there is regular chat. I join my trade guilds for use of the Guild Shop usually, nothing more. When I want to play in silence, I switch to my chat tab that ignores all player chat.1 -

I'm the GM of a trade guild and I still spend most of my interaction time in my trials guild. Selling is a mostly solitary thing--you list something for sale and... you're done. Running group content, whether it be PvE trials or PvP raids, is by necessity more social.Nightfighters ― PC/NA and PC/EU
