yup right there with ya, been a bit since ive played pve with my healer but even then your choices were kinda limited to SPC, seducer, healing mage, infal.

TBH id like to see trinimacs get a buff, I feel that set could complement a healer well.
Same thing with stendarrs. that 30 (?) second cool down is crazy really not even worth having in the game at this point aside from trash drops. lower that down to 8 seconds or less and you got a good pvp set.

There are a number of good healer sets. Even more that are not that good which fits well with the Zos and tanking sets since many are meh.

SPC is a standard. Worm, mending and sanctuary just to name a few to pair well with SPC. There are others like twilight, gossamer and others that work ok. I've left some out.

Really about the same number of decent sets as one would find for magicka dps and stam dps.

Sanctuary is really only useful when the group is stacked up or really tight, so mostly organized groups. When doing random dungeons with 3 strangers it sees much less benefit due to people scattering about, especially on fights like Kena where constant movement is the name of the game.

I use it on my tank, but mostly so I myself can get the healing benefit and pass it on to any melee players to make the healer's job slightly easier.

    +1

I use spell cure + Sanctuary/worm (depends on the situation. I also use Lich with Spell Power Cure). Works fine. But need a set with better tank (light sets).

As a healer convert (coming from tank), I'm going to say that we healers have better variety than tanks in the meta. If a healer is part of a decent team, they are free to equip something that aids their spell damage and Destro Staff attacks. Tanks are usually expected to tank, and only tank. 99% of all tank gear is sub-par and gimmicky, and you are expected by non-tanks to wear one of 3-4 sets at all times.

Healers have versatile healing-related light gear, plus the option to swap in attack mage gear. Tanks *can* do this, but are very much expected not to.

DPS have it best because they can wear whatever the hell they want as long as they don't play like they're functionally [snip].

In the end, if healing trials, it doesn't matter what the healer wants to wear if the raid leaser is pretty decent. He/She will ask the healers to wear specific sets and in the end it's the raid leaders choice. Same with running specific skills.

When you say "healer specific sets" do you refer to set with a bonus like "does x% more healing" ?

because, not sure if you know, critical hits are pretty important for healers and spell damage also boosts heals, making a set like Julianos pretty decent for the beginner healer.

Seducer is also a very nice set, especially in this meta of resource management.

Spell Power Cure gives a bonus when you heal a target, making it a healer specific set.

Sanctuary, Twilight Remedy, Mending, all good healer specific sets...

There's even a set called Healer...

To be honest, I'm not sure what you're talking about, healers are in a pretty good place as far as sets are concerned.

As for monster sets, next patch Bogdan the Nightfail is receiving a buff, maybe this time it will be even good, who knows...

Personally I'd rather run a Master Resto staff than a monster set, but, hey, there's no accounting for taste.

By comparison, stamina builds have to either go TFS or go home...

The healing 5 pc set in horns is pretty laid luster. Buffs and debuffs for the group are much better overall. For trials I don't see that set besting desired by raids and raid leaders.

As for the mosntee set, I think that'll be more useful in PvP, maybe. The CD is to long for PvE and players should be moving out of the stupid instead of hoping the healers monster set will proc. Good chance it will not remove ground affects from trial bosses though I've not headed or anyone testing it. Besides, trial healers often wear 5/5/1 which doesn't permit a 2 piece monster set.

Of course for 4 man dungeons outside of vDSA a healer can wear anything.

What I find missing is a strong set for a healer from the 'overland drop' sets. My healer wears one crafted setx5 and one overland dropped setx5 and that is it. She is plenty willing ready and able to craft sets and even willing to farm dolmens for the purple jewelryx3 of an overland drop set, then buy two small pieces at the guild traders - easy enough. She is not willing to do things in a game that we do not find fun however - that specifically means we're not willing to get on the hamster wheel of grinding BiS endlessly in dungeons.

For crafted, Seducers is okay. So is Julianos.

Among the overland dropped sets for healers, however, there are very slim pickings. What works best for my healer right now is Robes of the Hist. It is a solid magicka set where the x5 bonus keeps her on her feet and healing instead of on her back out of action. I'd love an overland magicka light set where the x5 bonus does something to directly help allies.

Spell Power Cure, Twilight Remedy, and Transmutation....

What more do you really need? Just because there isn't a "new" set out doesn't mean what's already available is no longer viable. These sets are still very strong for healers and still do their job well. Troll King and Chokethorn are also quite strong when you build around them. Heck, even the Bogdan monster helm is getting a buff...

There really isn't a need to make another set. ZoS can't give you easy access to something like Major Mending or Vitality on an armor set as we know from the past that those potent buffs tend to cause problems in Cyrodiil. *Looks at Malubeth*

The point is it's a lot more fun coming up with builds when choices are difficult. If there are only a couple of sets that tower over all the others, the decision becomes too easy and it's a bit boring.

Buffing some of the sub-par healing sets would result in more difficult choices, more diversity of build concepts etc. You can also consider some sets that synergize with certain classes like Trinimac and DK healers etc.

You know what I LOVE about healers? A meta that doesn't force me into wearing a disgusting looking Monster Set. Wearing the severed head of an enemy appeals to certain macho players, but I don't see that as being "cool".

Its not that there arent enough healer sets, its that most of them aren't useful. Like gossamer is an interesting set, but is just useless because its been nerfed too hard.
