I could not care less about what ppl think about how should I play game. If I listened to what others want, I would probably run naked in Cyrodiil for them to farm me.

No, I learned a lot that way coming up through normal dungeons to cp160.

So when I see people in vet dungeons using bows as primary weapons, alternating volley and light attack, I let them know that they need to rethink their skill set if they are to contribute to the group.

Context is important. If you're not fulfilling your role in a vet dungeon or trial then you absolutely do need to be advised on playing your role. You don't need vma weapons or min-maxing to do that. You're dragging the team down but if you're doing what you're supposed to be doing play how you want. If things die you're good to go

If one random, very patient and kind guy didn't give me simple tip, I would have quit the game back in May 2016 :) I had zero power and all scaled quests like Harborage or Fighter's Guild were worst nightmare for me :o I waited while other quests are white in my journal so I can finally do them. I almost never got any loot from mobs before level 45 cause they were outleveled :'( It just depends on how advice is given and if it's really needed. And I was stubborn ("what build I use? I don't even know what build is, I think everyone has to try their own things"), so not everyone would continue helping me... If that guy is still playing and maybe sees my post, he will recognize this - thank you very much! :)

I took this screenshot to memorize reaching Vr16 first time, but I can also look at those stats and be terrified:

    http://imgur.com/BSm4Y7Y

I always crafted 5x Whitestrake's Retribution medium armor paired with Death Wind (even on magicka characters) cause it looked cool to me. I had my armor enchants and attributes split in all 3 pools, my jewelry was random dropped low level trash with Healthy and Health Recovery glyphs... I used both magicka and stamina abilities - and they all were weak. I didn't die often cause lot of health, pathetic healing from some abilities and Whitestrake procs - but each simple fight was real battle to me :| And in May I was in scary old Craglorn when some people in zone asked for member to do quests there. Needless to say how funny our quests were, with normal tank and two dds... and me as I was none of any roles :) If they were just silent "do not care about this noob, just need to finish quests" or simply jerks who use bad words and leave group - I would only learn that Craglorn quests are another thing too hard for me, do not need to attempt it again. But after asking what armor sets I use and what are my attributes, one of them said...

    - Whitestrakes is tank armor. It's better to focus on one attribute, stamina or magicka. You do not need so much health as dd.
    - But when I'm not in a group, who will heal me? How will I survive?
    - If you kill mobs fast enough, you don't have to worry about healing.

Last quest, they nuked another mob pack and he said "See how easy it is when you focus on one attribute?" It looked easy indeed, but I was silent. Some time after it I went to reset my attributes and put them all in stamina. Crafted 3 weapon damage glyphs and replaced Health Recovery... When I saw how my stamina abilities tooltips increased, the process of transformation began

I never looked at builds and such on forums, so without help from actual player in game I wouldn't be able to experience many different things. And I passed it forward to random guy. My advice was much more detailed though including food types, passives and gear suggestions - also in Craglorn and in Spring but 2017, what a nice coincidence! - so I know I helped at least one person too :)

If you're doing something really stupid in a group setting, then you should listen to the advice.

Stuff like using the wrong gear for your role can make content unnecessarily difficult for everyone in the group.

People need to remember that this is an MMO. You need to be considerate of other people as well. If you queue up for group content, you should try to be competent (or at least willing to learn).

I don't find that the question is too vague. Nor is the OP lacking any context that I would need to see before justifying an answer.

There is never a reason to order someone about in a demanding and controlling way as if you were their dictator. That's not acceptable to me under any circumstance.

There are polite or mature ways to give suggestions if it is needed. But for someone to act like a complete jerk about it shouldn't be tolerated by anyone. This is a video game.

In a demanding, controlling way like they think there a dictator or something yes you can ignore but do you still hate it

I hate, when in the dungeon I see a sorc of 650 CP doing NOTHING but only hard casting frags on trash packs. Oh sorry - sometimes heavy attack from flame staff too. (not my imagination - today's example)

Would I dictate to him of how to play? Not, sure not: just ask "are you planning to do damage today?" and if he didn't understand why I've asked this - kick.

Without context it is too vauge. For all we know OP is a tank that wasn't taunting the boss and just heavy attacking with a two-hander. Maybe the group asked, "hey, can you taunt the boss?" to which OP responds "I bought this game I can play how I want! Stop being a dictator! it is unlikely but I've seen it happen.

For all we know OP is this guy,

If you can't take advices from your groupmates do not enter group content. Even if you paid billions for the game it won't make your group any better provided you aren't willing to listen to advices.

Sorry if you were not talking about group play. I agree that if somebody directed you how to play solo content, that's bad.

I laugh at little people that think that they have influence over others, or that they own ESO and can tell others to GTFO.
Their need for power and a sense of belonging to something greater from which they can push others out is a mark of their weak character.
I appreciate people that help others with obstacles in relation to the game, and people who work on PTS to discover problems, not drive cheese trends.

Well, depends. I met a guy who taught me mechanics and what skills are good and what I'm doing wrong. It really improved my gameplay. But I'd hate if someone tell me that my Argonion can't be a good stamina nightblade, because he is Argonion. I'm going to be the best Argonion Stamina Nightblade Tamriel ever seen (maybe not) and I will do Maelstorm Arena and solo world bosses, so all those dry-skins Altmer MagSorcs can eat mud from my garden.

But if it's people spouting nonsense about 'you're playing the game wrong because you don't use this race/class combo or because you use online guides or because you pay for crown aesthetics' then yes I do mind.

I do ignore them, and carry on doing what I've always done in that respect, but it'd be better if they didn't say anything to begin with.
