Nice idea but I think it would be stronger if Rune Focus would just became self-buff instead of ground based.

@Cinbri is the best Templar EU as far as I am concerned and if he says they are fine, then I wouldn't join any further discussions. Because his opinion should be biased, which it's not.

I so just can't wait on Marrowind release.. maybe finaly, will a tank in pugs stop seing annoying Templar going in front like crazy puuling anything, or selfish templar queues as healer but only think about their damage meters and not providing ressources return on his allies.. i just can't wait to try out these changes on my Templar, which is a healing role. will give more of a healer challenge... doesn't bother me if Warden gets better stuff, since it's been planed for a while i start a warden healer when it comes out, i love to try new stuff, not stick with the same toon over and over... all i can say so far from the readings on changes coming, good job ZoS! ;) Maybe we'll get less selfish players in pugs and will look like more groups with friends i often do, i'm just too impatient :)

If you magicka Templars crit heal yourself for 14k (my usual selfbuffed number without Major Defile on me) with Major Mending, it will be ~12k with Minor Mending. 12k is a half of regular HP pool.
in PvE BoL crits for 25-30k - that is real overheal now.

One of the things I have to deal with in Blackwater Blade is shutting down 1vXing, even if that doesn't make me terribly popular. But we have a regular crew of Vets who come in with gold gear and think slaughtering new players in white and green gear makes them xxxleetxxx!!!

Giving me a 20% healing debuff, and making BOL and Repentence into trash skills will do exactly that considering that DPS players aren't getting a 20% damage debuff, will only encourage these Vets. Who are killing the game by making people who bought it a few days ago not see the point in continuing to play.

The loss of Major Mending is the same as reducing 2-Hand Weapon damage by 20% for all its skills. Not a single person would be in here saying "2-Handers will be just fine."

Deltia might have the right idea.

I can't remember the last time I actually needed Major Mending. It's always been overkill. This is far from being the biggest issue with this patch, I mean this is borderline negligible for everyone that isn't doing a dodge-roll stamplar cheese build. But hey, just one opinion.

The irony of this thread is that there was already a long period of time when DKs had Major Mending and templars didn't.

The difference was that templars' heals (and only Restoring Light heals) instead did more healing to allies (about +20% or 30%, if I recall correctly?) standing inside their rune or ritual, which required a lot more clever play on the part of the people trying to get healed by the templar, and the templar himself. Then they dumbed it down by simply giving the templar major mending for standing inside his own rune or ritual, because it was apparently really necessary to standardise everything in the major/minor buff system.

DKs instead had their own major mending that was more potent because it was +30% healing to all their outgoing heals, with no positional requirements.

Now, templars will get to keep Minor Mending, whereas DKs are effectively stripped from having a Mending buff at all in most combat situations... appreciate what you have.

The way it almost seems is that ZOS wants to make the Warden an attractive healing class for Morrowind, so to do so they had to take away something from Templars. Like taking the candy from one child and giving it to another? I know that's probably silly, but it sure feels that way :)

You got it. I was thinking the same thing.

You know, I haven't missed Major Mending one bit...

My heals are a bit weaker than pre-nerf, but they are still very strong nonetheless...

The reduction to Minor Mending hasnt hurt me at all...

I have felt it hard. BoL, Rapid Regen, and Ritual, all healing for 17% less. How can you not feel that?

Major Mending is too stronk, I don't regret it's gone.
What I really regret is being stuck in channels and BoL without other defensive tools like Blinding Flashes, but even this can be too stronk because all buffs, which are desirable for DD Templars, go to healers, and healers don't need buffs.
That's one of the painful problems Templar has in PvP

It's interesting how many people I've spoken with have listed 'bad balancing' as the reason. It really is Battleborn all over again. Considering the Morrowind hype you'd expect ESO to be doing pretty good, right? It's really not. For an MMO this big, the population numbers according to Steam Charts are on the low end at best. ZOS wonders why, and how they can make money off of their remaining loyal players. So they pull this thing with the Warden.

What many marketing departments fail to realise is that people aren't stupid. A known master of the meta telling people he's burying his Templar character is more powerful than ZOS telling us that we're all being less than bright, that we should trust them, and that everything will be fine. The long and short of it is? People aren't idiots, ZOS. You need to inform your marketing department that that's how they're currently making people feel. In this current climate, you'll make more money by not pulling manipulative nonsense, you'll sell more of Morrowind when people are telling others that you're being honest and fair.

Today's era of the Internet is one where the power of word of mouth, YouTube, and the user review has more command, more power, and more sway than any marketing department could ever dream of having. So when someone like Deltia takes to YouTube to tell everyone that ZOS is screwing up, that their balancing attitudes are cancerous, and that their incompetence is eating the game from the inside out? You hire Deltia. I think he even showed interest in that. He wanted to fix ESO's bad balancing. He'd be a good person to do it as well as he has a good understanding of what's wrong.

The current balancing flies in the face of the original ethos, where mitigation mattered, and various classes could be competent in various roles. I just think that at this point it's all about egomania and "Nuh uh, noap, I'm right!" than anything else. Otherwise, why wouldn't they have sought out Deltia's aid already? They sorely need it.

I used to love ESO but it's hard watching it go the way of Battleborn, Champions Online, and so many other games which have died due to bad balancing. It just gets so tiresome.
